Demon Souls
>Little Big Planet.
The first one is the most charming shit. Never played the others. Online still has most of the good community maps, or close recreations of them.
>White knight chronicles
was a decent JRPG with knight-mechs. Semi-deep combat.
>The uncharted games
were alright if you're into tomb raider.
>MGS4.
>Demons Souls, but online is gone.
>God of war collection
>Shadow of the Colossus
(Yes, technically ps2 but remaster with ico is solid)
>Sly Collection
Not PS3 Exclusives, but 360/PS3 era that havent been remastered
>Dantes inferno
>Hitman trilogy
>Skate, Skate 2, Skate 3
>Tekken tag tournament 2
also MW2 online was a great era but the servers are just full of hackers now.
>Buying PS2 Classics
Boi. Follow a guide to get CFW on that fucking thing, 4.84 is still safe. Please, for the love of actual god.
You'll enjoy so many PS3, PS2, PS1 and PSP games for completely free while only needing the PS3 to be fucking modified.
Do not fall for the meme of buying games for old consoles. Always mod them, and never waste money on a 200+ dollar game that's rare to find just to complete it once and shelve it.
Yakuza 3, 4, 5
Nier
Demon's Souls
It is definitely worth doing the little bit of research required to hack it though. Do that first.
Research is for paranoid normalbuyfags. I barely searched up anything besides a guide on how to do it on 4.82. It's as easy as picking your fucking nose, there's somehow a wikiHow guide on it, but the flashing pages it gives you won't really work.
For OP: Use PS3Xploit, install 4.84 Hybrid Firmware over 4.84 official, then follow the 4.82 instructions to flash your PS3, then finally install REBUG 4.84.2 CEX. Then do some research after that, install webMAN or multiMAN, along with SEN Enabler and reactPSN. Absolutely fucking kino, playing basically the majority of the PS2 library, and even some games that won't work have configs that fix them up as well as anything else. You literally can't beat this.
Persona 5.
Dragon's Crown.
3D Dot Game Heroes.
Demon's Souls.
Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.
Ni no Kuni.
Odin Sphere.
Resonance of Fate.
Ico&Shadow of the Colossus.
Zone of the Enders.
No More Heroes.
Katamari Forever.
The Guided Fate Paradox.
PS3 >>>>>>> PS4
>tells the guy there's no need to do any research
>then tells the guy to do look up and follow a guide
that IS research, you arsehole
my man, these 3 faggots above me don't even see the 'newer Slim' model this guy said. if it's a CECH-2500 or something above, he gonna fucking brick that thing if he try to mod it
Wouldn't research technically be 'look up specific information' instead of just reading a fucking manual?
oh... shit...
no
Thanks for the recs so far; I'm getting this stuff down. I guess I can also get some games that are currently on PC/Steam, too, since it might just be easier to obtain a disc instead of downloading huge ass files.
Say, can this PS3 at least play PS1 games right off the bat?
But, it's only 10 bux! Also, I've been hesitant in modding and could never bring myself to mod the original XBox or 360, since I'm pretty lazy with that stuff. Also, I've always been afraid of bricking hardware; an unmodded console can still play games within it's original confines, but a bricked one can't do shit.
>Dragon's Crown
Way ahead of yah, since that was the test game.
>CECH-2500
This one is a CECH-2501B. So... probably no modding for me?
>just a plain no
>no reason why
your argument is "in van's lid" so piss off.
Holy fucking shit you're in luck. 2501B is _just_ on the margin of being hackable.
>NOR and minimum downgrade is 3.50
Also, don't fall for the "but it's only !" meme. It'll quickly add up when Sony starts to get more money out of you.
Please, skip over your fucking fears and mod that goddamn thing, you'll thank us all later, all you need to do is not be a retard and read and _make_ sure you have everything right!
>It's a newer Slim model, so no backward compatibility for PS2 games.
Hack it and then you can play ps2 games.
>Using the PS2 Classics PKG maker
lmao'ing at your COBRA-less life, m8
Don't bother, the emulation quality is worse than you'd get on a toaster using PCSX2.
man. i got a ps3 phat with the ps2 hardware for $20 but the disk drive is fucked? seems cool right? wrong, you cant update the console if the bluray drive is disconnected. its only a small plastic clip thats broken as well, but i cant hold the ribbon down
not anymore, they can run hwf
>NOW, what I would like help with is: More games
but PS3 has no games dummy
Obviously I can only speak for myself.
The Resistance trilogy is surprisingly only on PS3. If you want straight Kino you can skip to 3. Combines best parts of 1 and 2s combat and the story and environments are 10/10.
The last thing I would consider a real Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer 7, is also only on PS3. It's pure arcade.
If you want to invest in a Move, Time Crisis Razing Storm is great. Contains 3 kick ass rail shooters: Razing Storm, Time Crisis 4, and Deadstorm Pirates. Just stay away from campaign mode.
PS Move is unironically not bad. It got bad rep because it was released at the same time as the shitty Kinect, but it's a lot better. It's very precise and if you have room you can swing swords in Sports Champions and Medieval Moves and have a good time. Lots of Wii ports and other games too.
