EPIC
Now they pissed away any chance to do deals. The fucking Rocket League devs are gonna be so fucking mad
based Gabe: all he does is win
I just bought Outward so tough shit OP.
>do nothing
>rival self destructs
oh nononononono
>Gabe does absolutely nothing
>Epic shits their bed
He cannot be stopped
>So I can confirm that me buying a whopping 5 games (ranging from 5 bucks to 50) on the Epic Store flagged my account for possibly fraudalent. Maybe if you guys had a fucking shopping cart jesus christ.
OH NO NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOO
I already get a 100% discount on Epic games.
I read through the article and I fail to see the problem? Steamdrones at work again.
What an epic fail
>Epic right now
EFG needs to change his mask to a picture of Sweeney's face.
Is the sale a flop, this is a paid "outrage" article to get people to go look.
haha lookit this nigga all readin an shit
More like nopic games
you don't get to choose what games you buy
no pick games
Winnie the poo
what happened with those people defending the lack of a cart or even a wishlish (you can write it on paper)
>"W-we're gonna teach those fatcats at Steam that the de- I mean consumers always win!"
>act like arrogant niggers for months on end and piss off the entirety of the internet by appealing only to developers and publishers by waving around stacks of cash
>try to respond to criticism by having a sale
>completely fuck up your sale and cause an even bigger shitstorm
So, when was Epic supposed to be the store we all look up to and praise again?
>whip the fartnite dev team into making like 20 more skins, each for each game on EGS
>exclusive bonus for buying the game.
>push sales
Wow that was hard
>ever using the chink launcher
Just a reminder, that plan was moved out for another 1-2 years
>shopping cart
>6 months
how....
wait they don't even have a shopping cart?
>All those shills that said shopping cart didn't matter
Oh NO NO NO NO
it was obvious to anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together that the platform has been trash and will continue to be trash for the consumer
if they did not have exclusives, there would be literally zero reason for the average normie to use the inferior store
They are a small indie company and cant afford such things.
They never appealed to devs.
Devs don't get a cent of the money from the games they make when they are sold.
They are paid during development like a normal job. Publishers get the money from sales and Epic pays the Publishers to keep their games on their platform.
Epic only supported the publishers.
>could have had garnered good will for an entire month with the sale
>now the only thing people will remember is how they fucked it up with the publishers
GIVE TIM A BREAK Yea Forums
HE'S TRYING
So just pull a TF2.
It worked for Steam I guess.
Thanks everyone. Epic flubbing stuff is like my fuel these days. I don't even care anymore, I'll just pirate whatever is exclusive without saying a peep because it saves me money, just like the thousands of other people doing the same
Ummm sweaty the publishers will reinvest that money in their developers and under no circumstances keep the money for themself
>price boosted up for the "sale"
sounds like aliexpress
oh wait
>Using the UE4/Fortnite launcher to buy shit
That shit is flat out illegal in many countries.
They have a higher net worth than Gabe.
They have fortnite money that they whip around with abandon to purchase timed exclusivity for their launcher.
Fucking Itch.io, a launcher for Indie shovelware, has a shopping cart.
Epic launcher has been around for 2 years at least.
Has Timothy blamed valve for this yet?
How does it take 6 months to implement wishlists. That seems like an incredibly simple thing to implement that one guy could do in a few days, if not an afternoon.
Did this kill all the Epic shills on Yea Forums?
Holy fuck. Now imagine all these people who actually shilled EGS and defended it because "Muh steam evil monopolists, must free PC gaming from That fat tyrant".
They put spyware on their launcher, they force exclusives by bribing publishers. They are trying to act like some kind of rebeliants against "steam tyranny" but they are the one who take hyped games as hostages only to put spyware in more computers.
And their launcher has no basic options or even decent security.
Literally EGS makes more and more fails over time and now this.
STEAM literally just did nothing and EGS just keeps hitting itself.
EGS is a comedy gold and common people defending them are Cucks, I bet they enjoy watching their wives getting gangbanged by bulls and they enjoy even more cleaning all mess they made.
Not even a wish list? LMAO, how am I supposed to know when a game I want is on sale?
EA, Ubisoft, and 2K do otherwise.
"Sweaty".
They "invest" by making them make another game in which they use a "portion" of that money to pay them. Like a normal job. While the CEOs get a fat paycheck for doing nothing.
>klei entertainment pulled oxygen not included entirely off the store
what the fuck? are klei actually huge jews?
Don't worry, they never will after this. Seems like a simple sale throws the entire client into shambles
>game store launcher
>NO FUCKING SIMPLE CART
lmao even scam sites have this shit
Are you telling me that Tim has not been truthful with us. Well I never
You're talking reality. But literally all Tim Sweeney, epic, and their "influencers" in the journalism industry literally say nothing but "think of the developers"
I take it back when I said this was just another Origin or Uplay, it's actually worse.
I don't give a shit about digital store wars but this is hilarious, how can a company with hundreds of millions at their disposal be so inept.
Yeah, my point is that it seems like a normal thing in China.
What the fuck I thought Epic was pro publisher Yea Forums.
Why are the publishers themselves throwing Epic under the bus?
Shut up
What the fuck is going on lmao get your shit together Tencent Timmy.
They Captured lighting in a bottle and think their fucking Zeus. So they parade out in thunder storms getting blasted by lightning because they think they are the shit.
Why did they pull? I don't understand.
Mate. Have you been watching Ubisoft?
They fucking made a deal with Epic so everybody would buy their games on Uplay. Just as this sale was going to happen Ubisoft JUST SO HAPPENED to bug out and will only come back AFTER THE SALE IS OVER.
EPIC PAYED MILLIONS FOR A MEASLY SIX MONTH EXCLUSIVITY DEAL FOR BL3
ubisoft secretly based & playing 4D chess
so what happened here is epic in their infinite wisdom decidede to puty games on sale not tell the pewople selling them anything about it and they got pissed? seems like a rookie mistake for a still rookie game store
>if you don't want to be a part of the sale literally your only option is just to delist your game form the store entirely
You basically have to engineer a storefront to be this awful, Jesus Christ
Reminder that even fucking Steam has a tip for devs to not do this shit.
>partner.steamgames.com
>It's typically best to ease into discounting, and increase the level of discount over time. For example, a title might move from 33% to 50% to 66% to 75% and beyond, over the course of a year or more. Rushing into a 50% or 75% discount weeks after your launch, or releasing with a very high launch discount sends a bad message to customers who bought at full price and undermines the value of your title.
>rookie game store.
The store is 2 years old.
kek
>be Epic
>desperate for more sign ups for charts
>Put on a sale without telling anyone, discounting games but eating the difference so publishers make the same
>Supergiant Games literally raises the price of their game during the sale
>Ubisoft 404's their games because they don't want them devalued
>Since there's no shopping cart, people buying multiple games are being flagged for fraud
So is Epic basically putting games on sale without asking the publishers? Is that what i'm getting from this?
That was the case for Paradox. For Klei and Supergiant I think they didn't explain properly how the mechanics of sale worked.
Ironically Origin would be a decent launcher if it wasn't limited to mostly EA garbage.
He bought every game they have on the store. Why would he need to make a 6th purchase?
I miss him bros.
>>partner.steamgames.com
lmao why doesn't epic literally just read this and copy it all? why are they making their lives so hard for themselves?
looks like
no, the shills are either paid or just severely autistic (more likely)
it's only going to get a lot worse with e3 coming around
Muh money
sweaty these people would not do such things just look at Tims beautiful flesh mask and tell me you wouldn't trust such a person
Tim is clearly not trying hard enough based on his 1-2 year plan. Fucker should just fold while the fortnite money is still bountiful because who knows when that gravy train will end.
Huh. Turns out running a storefront isn't as easy as just throwing money at everybody.
>EG press conference rolls around
>mega sale slide
>2.5x the publishers participated in the sale!
>no tab for games under 5 and 10 burgers
One job, epic.
>3.5x launch sales!
>3x higher twitch activity over 3 months!
>16 and a third to the 7th power more players using the launcher then steam at 2 am over the course of a week!
>make a deal to have your game on the egs
>people still have to go through your own launcher to play the game
>they buy from your store instead
>got to cut the middeman on top of getting a bag of cash
Based Ubisoft.
>be publisher
>release game that’s 39.99
>put it on epic store and steam
>epic announces sale
>”okay cool, but our game isn’t discounted because it came out last month”
>without knowing your game is now 9.99
> contact epic and ask wants going on
>they tell you not to worry about it because you’ll still get all the money as if it sold full price.
>what?
>customers that bought your game before the sale or on steam are pissed because of the discount for a game they just bought.
>people that never played your game think it’s shit because it was discounted a month after release
Why did Epic think this was a good idea?
Last time I played bf4 it bugged out downloading the game and I had to go manually delete a bunch of files, it was a known years old bug. Literally never had any problems with steam.
chinks are always 10 steps behind.
Won't this turn even more publishers away from Epic? Who wants to partner up with a storefront that will willingly fuck you over without you knowing?
I've owned Outward on steam for a little while now
It's been super fun both singleplayer and co-op and we just found a mod that lets us set the co-op player limit to whatever we want
I hope you enjoy your game as much as I have
No one. Epic died right this very day
>if it wasn't limited to mostly EA garbage
This is the problem that people seem to forget. You can't make a brand new online store because nobody puts their games on it in the first place, Steam is all devs know and care about. You literally CAN'T compete with Steam without buying off other devs to put their games in your store.
EGS itself made a bad reputation and as Borderlands 3 show, the bad reputation also negatively affects game that are exclusive on EGS.
Publishers are greedy but they are not stupid.
more like 10 inches fucking lmao
tbf the discount is only 10 dollars on games bove 15
>tfw everyone will forget this and they'll announce even more shit you wanted to buy as exclusive at E3
>that article
oh fuck this first the okay symbol asnd now this? these people are either crazy or desperately grabbing at straws as their careers fall out from under them meanwhile some loon in ohio is trying to ban birth control
>Agree to sell game for X dollars
>Suddenly throw a sale for X-10 dollars without informing the people who made the game
>The people who made the game get upset
I TRIED SO HARD
AND GOT SO FAR
STEAM IS A MONOPOLY
>outs self as a hypocritical fucking retard by trying to buy exclusivity with last-minute bribery and strong-arm a monopoly
GABEN YOUR TIME IS AT AN END
>deploys literal army of Chink marketers and/or scripted bot programs to shill Epic Games relentlessly; pays for the support of the entire wholly corrupt and despicable gaming journalist cartel to blog incessantly about EPIC GOOD STEAM BAD
NOTICE ME GABEN-SEMPAI
>self-destructs in hilarious fashion
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYBEN
>pay obese older male prostitutes to buttfuck him because he clearly has intense sexual need to be dom'd by Gaben
Oh user. E3 is going to be cringe kino of the highest caliber.
Sony might not be there anymore but Epic will gladly take their place.
Well when you have your head so throughly shoved up your own ass all because you got lucky with a game like fortnite, you can sort of understand why the higher ups at epic make retarded business moves.
>WE WON'T DO SALES LIKE STEAM
>NEVER MIND HERE'S A SALE
>WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE FUCKED UP?
_ ____ __ ____ ____ ___
I’m pretty sure some publishers are gonna drop epic for this.
>Spend millions and months getting timed exclusives while simultaneously souring public perception of your digital marketplace.
>Spend two extended afternoons and force your unpaid intern whose only a junior in college to make your digital marketplace.
What were they THINKING?
We can hope.
>games on sale before they even come out.
Steam BTFO. Just bought muhhh cage games. Might buy Control.
I think only after their contact times out
Must be really awkward to come back to Steam, tail between legs
Stronghold devs will not jump to Epic store. Based.
I'm still probably going to buy Borderlands 3 though
Heh.
If Bethesda could do it, everyone else can too.
I'll probably buy it for PS4 and pirate it on PC. At least I will support them that way.
>EG
>Exclusivity & sales guarantee contract
>Have to pay publisher if game doesn't sell
>Create mega sale
>Games are now 50-75% off
>Why cant I hold all these sales
>don't have to pay sales guarantee anymore
Raising prices shortly before a sale is illegal in Australia, ACCC going to claim another scalp
>You literally CAN'T compete with Steam without buying off other devs to put their games in your store.
GoG, HumbleBundle, Twitch Store, Discord Store.
Can someone explain to me why the fuck the entire product is not available if a dev opts out of a sale?
>epic is tripping over their own feet while steam does fuck all
this shit is golden
>What is sarcasm
>GoG
Incumbent who actively seeks out old games to try and get running on windows so they can sell them, also tries to fill the niche of DRM free.
>HumbleBundle
Sells steam keys.
>Twitch Store
do they even sell games? i thought it was just the free games with prime?
>Discord Store.
Is doing terribly.
> now a massive amount of sales on steam
>Bloodlines 2 was $10 off and it isn't even out yet
What the fuck?
It's not a fox.
>jpg
>600x600 instead of 400x400
You fucking fraud
The store is so shitty that taking your game off of the platform entirely is the only way to stop it from being on sale.
Seethe harder.
Isn't she desert fox?
A good strategy if you're on top is to do nothing and observe while the enemy does everything it can, this way you expend no energy or resources while your enemy expends all of theirs
The weird thing about this entire Epic shitshow is that the more Epic tries to smear Steam, the more people just realize just how much Steam actually does. Like some of my friends never payed attention to some of the shit steam did and just complained but these past few months they've figured out that the curator system is really good, that they were taking what steam did for controllers for granted, and fuck they even finally browse GOG too.
And now they're even checking the themed sales steam does. Fucking baffling.
Meanwhile my new steam account is 11 years old. So yes, rookie storefront.
Don't worry its not even for sale now. All the big name titles got pulled like Division 2. I wonder who is behind this mess, and who is in the legal right? I thought epic had the rights too sell these products.
Wait, since when is Quantic Dream releasing shit on PC
How am I seething? I am merely pointing out that you are, at best, confirming his statement.
Snatched Bloodlines 2 with Season Pass for $10 yesterday
Feels good..
>steam in the corner with its arms folded " are you done yet?"
since epic gamestore
You have to have someone be awful at something to understand how it should be done.
Steam forums are unironically great for really fucking niche and obscure games that only got released there. Especially for bug reports and having the dev actually reply to you.
Unless you are running an operating system that you coded on a cpu/mobo/gpu that you manufactured yourself, you already have spyware and back doors built in sweety.
>I'm sorry you were able to buy that game the otherday here is your refund.
>actively seeks out old games to try and get running on windows so they can sell them, also tries to fill the niche of DRM free.
Oh what is that? Yes it's actually competition instead of the fraudulent "competition" that Epic is engaging in, that is only even possible thanks to the government-granted monopoly that allows for exclusivity in the first place.
Fucking this. I got a bunch of issues solved with their forums as well as actually getting my feedback implemented into early access games.
It's also a great tool FOR THE DEVS to keep a track of shit in one place.
>devs come crawling back to steam
>Epic is in shambles, barely staying afloat by bloating Fortnite with microtransactions
I TRIED SO FAR
AND GOT SO HARD
Isn’t this illegal? Or did the Publishers actually sign a paper saying that epic can sell their games any way they want because they wanted to say “fuck you valve” without reading the fine print.
I doubt it'll be anything major since most publisher don't care about reputation and are satisfied with the upfront exclusivity payment. Maybe kickstarted indie devs will think twice about it though.
You'd think they would just roll with it and simply cut the remaining sale days down drastically.
The most hilarious part is whenever I google how to fix a bug with a game the results almost always point me to a steam post. And if it's not a steam post, it's a leddit post that LINKS to a steam post.
Can someone in the know give me a breakdown on SuperGiants' deal? Is it EA only or not?
Wikipedia is a thing
EGS never rivaled steam, though.
Yeah. Hades is only exclusive during EA.
Nobody wants to download Steam either.
>without informing the publishers
Isn't that illegal?
B-But they gave so much money to the publishers! Surely that gives them pseudo-ownership while the exclusives are still on their store.
Maybe they don't care about reputation, but trust is still vital. Epic just pissed away a lot of trustworthiness.
Face it Tim “Everyone has spyware, Sweety” Sweeney. You're history. You're Through. I hope you improve your lousy store.
Also, it’s “sweetie” not “sweety” you idiot.
Supposedly they had something like a 4 hour notice. Not sure how that works across timezones.
Epic may not be Fallout 76 levels of cascading failure, but goddammit they're trying.
I don't see the big deal.
Just tortanictards. Nothing to see here.
>those soulless eyes
Is Tim becoming a chink?
It's more about the fact that Epic didn't even communicate properly with publishers for something as simple as a sale. They purposefully devalued Bloodline 2 to unreasonable degrees and it wasn't even out yet.
Running a store is real hard guise! Other stores falls in to the same traps all the time and we're just a small indie company trying to make ends meet
"Everyone else stole, so that makes it okay."
>each for each game on EGS
i dont know most of the stupid things they do come back to bite them in the ass pubilically but i think this is the first time its hitting them in the pocketbook and on the devs side
>regional pricing and store search were roadmap goals
>search by genre is a roadmap goal
>shopping cart is a 6 month goal
Origin used to be snappy but every part of the interface is almost as sluggish as Steam these days on both of my PCs
So if EA could get voted worst company in the world, could Epic?
said no PC gamer ever
I wonder who could be behind this post?
Regional pricing means non-Americans get rinsed
Holy shit, this is the laziest damage control shilling I have ever seen in my life. Did Sweeny skimp on his shill budget as much as his QA budget for the store?
i was taught how to make a shopping cart as one of my first programming exercises when i was 15
the fuck are they doing?
the rocket league devs are too busy rolling around in money
I had something similar with BF1. You couldn't even launch de game through the launcher, you had to go to the .exe file.
No wonder steam keeps ignoring them, they knew Tim was a moron!
Why does the Epic Game Store actively make moves that creates a genuine hatebase and people that dislike the store? They can't possibly imagine that to be a winning strategy, can they?
Now imagine if they had used the same amount of crazy cash, but not been fucking assholes with it, they could have unironically been hailed as the unsung heroes of PC gaming. Especially after Valve quitting, then failing at game development again.
I want to hear Sweeney's hot take on this situation.
On the unlikely chance that EGS actually kicks the bucket. What happens to all the games there and their customers?
Has there been a case where a digital storefront completely died?
But for how long though?
if it makes you feel any better steam has workshop bugs that can just break updating a game entirely unless you clears slightly obscure cache (download cache? i think).
I can replicate this bug easily by just unsubscribing to a bunch of things while subbing to things in gmod. Causes an infinite loop of downloading something.
Have fun in your fantasy land retard.
When's the last time any gave a shit about a steam sale? Exactly. Any press is good press.
There is an Epic employee in my discord server that is a real cunt and I CANNOT wait to rub this shit in his face
Wait there is regional pricing now?
Why the fuck do I have to pay more living in a 3rd world country than fucking Americans?
The EGS has been one colossal moneysink since it's creation, are you kidding? Nobody buys shit because the prices are a ripoff, they spend millions on bribing producers and devs for exclusivity deals, they spend millions more when games don't meat the salesfigures they promised them, then who knows how much more paying off all these fucktard shills, bribing game """journalists""" and any number of other slimy shit. Not to mention their stipend to their daddy Tencent.
they worked on it alright
sold people right out of their store
>Any press is good press.
Only people getting fucked in the ass say this
Most normalfags don't even care where are they buying the game, so I don't think Epic cares too much.
>implying
How fucking presumptuous are you? I'm stating facts. Everything is spyware and there is no escape from it.
Mod and bug are always together you have yourself to blame getting bug from modding
I don't mind the blizzard launcher so much because at least it's their games, which is fair I think.
>big name
>willing to take smaller cut
>has everything to crush the current leading platform
>instead of providing a satisfactory service, they make it as inconvenient as possible for the costumer, sometimes being actively hostile to the costumers
>For no fucking reason
I cant understand.
Steam sales have been a joke for almost a decade. Epic Games Store is showing us real sales again by force if that's what it takes. We should applaud them.
Turns out making a decent store is hard and costs money.
>costumers
And the one time they do try to benefit the customers, they fucking piss off the publishers instead.
I literally can't figure out Epic right now.
>I CANNOT wait to run this in his face.
Please post caps assuming he hasn't already purged his existence from the internet.
It's the chink way to do business. "Consumer-friendly" isn't in their vocabulary.
gfwl did
infrastructure for games there just got fucked
she's a fennec fox
All the time, actually. I get emails whenever games on my wishlist go on sale so I know the best times to buy them. For example, Frostpunk and Mutant: Year Zero are both on sale right now.
And no, any press is NOT good press. That whole "there's no such thing as bad publicity" bullshit is dead wrong and bad publicity has killed more companies than your shill ass can even name. Goddamn, it's like Sweeny just drags hobos off the street and gives them sandwiches in exchange for telling the internet to buy his games.
lmao the two sales steam is having right now is ten times better than this shit.
Turn out you cant just solving shit by throwing money
Said everyone when steam appeared.
Just because you were born in a cage doesn't mean that people don't remember what it's like to be free.
>EVERYTHING IS ON SALE
>What do you mean the publishers don't like that? We'll cover the losses
>Devaluation? Basic economic theory? What are they on about
>No we don't have a way to not have the game be on sale, just pull it off the store till the sale ends
Remember, "12%" is still not actually sustainable. If you live outside of regions favored by Epic, they're offloading all transaction costs to you, making you pay more than you ever did on Steam.
shut the fuck up you retarded chinkshill your launcher sucks ass and continues doing so
Capable designers my cost cash.
Basic fucking business and even common sense doesn't cost a damn thing.
You're a fool if you think nu-Steam sales aka 33% off is good.
I don't know how much Tim is paying you to gag on his cock, but everyone was fucking apeshit for Steam when it came out. Especially with Half-Life 2, holy fuck, the forums were going insane. My friend and I stayed up all night waiting for it to finish preloading.
its risky though, if they actually do well you might get caught
You missed the joke buddy, but i guess you just
wanted to get that out
>I don't see the big deal.
No one else can either.
>born too late to explore the world
>born too soon to explore the stars
>born just in time to see EGS get btfo by Valve doing nothing
Feels good
>rewriting history this hard
There is no valve shilling happening on Yea Forums, no sir. Also feel free to stop conflating anti-steam with pro-EGS anytime.
That's funny, people are expected to take Epic's store seriously?
lmao gtm
Based
Civ VI, the latest game in the series that's still getting regular DLC, is 67% off right now.
>even Super Giant are being huge fucking Jews
Shame, as I really like their stuff
>put the base price up after putting in on sale
That is quite literally illegal in most European countries and Australia. The fuck are they doing?
Big ouch
Just an accident goy here have 50c off your next purchase
A better strategy is to take advantage of your enemies weakness and destroy them utterly and completely before they can get back on their feet.
Did those stupid chinks not read the fine print or something?
>Steam sales have been a joke for almost a decade.
If anything this has just reminded me how good we used to have it back in the day. I can't remember a time I've even cared to wait around during a steam sale now. Five or so years ago I'd have to make sure I kept to a budget and not bought shit I knew I'd never play just because it was 75% off. Now, if it isn't something I purposely held off on buying I just don't care.
hownew.ru
For the last fucking time, Epic is an American company.
You don't need to when 100% of your opponent's damage is self-inflicted.
>shit old games
>shit warhammer games
There has never been a good warhammer game.
I'm actually glad flash sales are gone. Back when they were a thing, a sale was an "event" I had to take part in for days. Now I scroll through my wishlist once and know everything.
Steam sales are shit now because you already own everything and new games aren't going to be heavily discounted
t. Chang Hiaxhou
What is DoW? If you didn't like DoW you are a whole fuckload of stupid.
If that was truly the case then China wouldn't allow it to used in China but it is.
>Sells steam keys.
Which literally costs valve money
It's too hard nowadays for Valve to game games though. Could've had an update for TF2 but.......NAH
AHAHAHAHAHAHA
This. Flash sales existed just so you would wait until the games you wanted went on a flash sale and then buy it in the last day because it didn't
Or you forgot about them, bought the game at 33% off and it went on a 75% on the flash sale and you'd cry.
That would require effort.
it's extremely illegal in the UK, possibly in the whole EU
>store.steampowered.com
Lots of good games. Lots of discounts above 50% too surprisingly enough.
Yeah Steam sales these days are shit. New games are never discounted and old ones are just moderately off every season. Losing limited time flash sales was a big blow as well.
inb4 someone calls me an epic shill
Reading in Eddy's voice gave this a whole new lair
hating epic =/= sucking steam's cock
Okay seriously we need to address this issue:
Have you ever seen a online store that doesn't have a shopping cart?
Is there a reason for why it doesn't have one?
fukken saved
>Put games on sale
>Storefront isn't in flames
How do they do it bros. asking for a friend
Epic Games is incredibly incompetent. It seems they relegated members of Fortnite team to set up the store, because everything about it is a disaster.
No shopping cart, can't find games, Windows 8 tile design, etc. Just open website for any store for anything and it looks better than this.
That's just the business as usual and its one of the prime reason people get steam in the first place
The dirt cheap game make pirating feel like wasting your time instead
Tim Sweeny is a gaping vagina being filled by daddy Tencent's syphilis-ridden cock.
A smart opponent watches for just that and prepares to mobilize as soon as he realises there's a real threat, all the while saving resources that would have been spent fighting blind and potentially unnecessarily. Not that there seems to be a chance of that happening here.
I find steam to be very interactive to be honest.
Bought My Time At Portia on steam, but one of the missions
where you save the tree farm had a bug so i posted it on the forum
and the dev actually responded that they would release a patch soon.
Who the fuck think discounting new game is a good deal?
That's just you being greedy
>get lucky
it wasn't luck that Epic knew exactly how big PUBG was becoming and ripped literally every feature from it and added it to their shitty PvE fort-building game.
Is it true the EGS is so badly designed they literally struggle to add games to it? Like they aren't actually being selective because of curation they simply can't handle the volume of submissions.
You're correct. Most of the indie developers are pretty active in Steam forum.
This just seems so right. Claim they are better then steam yet can't even do the basics steams been doing since launch
I don't know but isn't it amazing to think it's been out for this long and they've never added a shopping cart? Honestly comical
>Paragon died for this
>OG Fortnite died for this
>UT OF ALL THINGS DIED FOR THIS
>they all died so that Epic could fuck up a sale
What did UT do to deserve this Yea Forums? ;_;
Epic is the best advertising Steam's ever had.
they got a long way to go
Which games actually got pulled?
How can they not implement a feature available on online stores from the 90's?
Its out of sweet kun tweet mouth that tencent own about 40% of them
>OG Fortnite died for this
>Mourning the death of "OG" Fortnite
Die.
Just look at what's happening now.
Games are literally getting removed from their store because they're not supposed to be on sale.
Fucking imagine delisting your game on a fucking store just because you didn't opt in with the sale.
Fucking imagine.
Bloodlines 2 and I think Oxygen Not Included and Pheonix Point as well, maybe more I'm not aware of. There's for sure 2.
>They purposefully devalued Bloodline 2 to unreasonable degrees and it wasn't even out yet.
given the aggressive regional pricing on it I don't think paradox has much confidence in it in the first place
it's straight up retarded how their response to publishers not wanting their games to be on sale is to straight up remove it though, how do you make a storefront like that?
new games are discounted just as fast because they're selling like shit
Try looking for any Ubisoft game
>the game’s current value in Early Access
>Early Access
That value is 0. People actually pay to bug test games?
You can actually still buy ubisoft games, they're just not on the storefront and can't be searched.
It's so hilariously dumb.
some dude bought too many games and got banned for a possible fraud flag, nice store
Gabe should do a sale right now.
>it's real
epicgames.com
epicgames.com
epicgames.com
epicgames.com
FUCKING LMAO WHAT THE FUCK IS UBISOFT DOING?
>their store is so unpopular that buying 5 games triggers a flag
I don't get it, how is it possible for a corporation swimming in money to fuck up this hard?
You would think money allows you to buy decent programmers.
How much IQ do the chinks take away when you sell them your soul?
He's doing two sales right now.
kid, we have had daily and weekend specials for forever
programmers that are slaving away at fortnite because it's their actual cash cow, not this rubbish
Hahahhaha this how they do it in china how can they be this fucking stupid woth that much money in their pockets
Epic can suck a cock those impatient agressive faggots
I don't understand. What is the purpose of this shenanigans?
Who is Ubisoft trying to feel exactly?
Epic: Hey Ubi we're holding a sale, you want to discount any of your games?
Ubi: No thanks I don't think we need to go on sale for now
Epic: You don't want to sell your games for now? Got it.
okay this is epic
I agree mate. I dont know how the fucking epic store shills couldnt see how much of a scummy scheme this store is. After all it was build in one day on Fortnite bux with the chinese backing it from behind and it cant get any worse than that. Its like the biggest redflag in existence, you must be an idiot not to see it. I can watch the epic shills killing themselves and laugh when they are taking their last breath, because steam and common sense wins once again without doing nothing.
But why?
Based.
It's been stated earlier in this thread but the overriding theory is that Ubisoft accepted the Epic deals knowing that more sales would be routed to Uplay rather than epic, meaning a 100% revenue take AND getting Epic Bux
quite a while unless they're a special kind of stupid
Epic Sale? More like...Epic FAIL!
How can Ubisoft be so based?
They're playing Epic like a fiddle every step of the way.
6 month MINIMUM it's a "longterm" goal
i enjoyed survive the storm, and it probably would have been more successful if they had put the kind of effort they put into battle royale since they dont have to maintain performance for 100 players at once
What the fuck have these filthy rich corporations been doing lately? How the fuck are they so incompetent in basic things? Who the fuck are they hiring and how in hell are their projects led?
Shit like this would be unforgivable for online store of a minor store, but Epic is actually trying to be new giant.
>if it wasn't limited to mostly EA garbage.
it's not anymore there's a ton of 3rd party shit, ubisoft games, some indie games, etc.
I wish the client wasn't so fucking sluggish though, shit makes steam look snappy by comparison
Die.
Using the word "epic" outside describing a large amount of literary works which comprise a long saga with several smaller stories should result in immediate beheading.
Same goes for using "badass" as anything but ironically. And if you're Randy Pitchford it should also count retroactively.
Whatever you say, Tim.
it was gonna be a survival crafting game clone anyways, I do kind of want a good one of those but I don't miss it in any case
And they are gonna keep giving money to the shill
No, hes a cuck
And cleaning himself with a rag on a stick.
The man is living my dream.
More like Epic SNAIL
cause they're so slow at implementing basic features
ebin :DDDDDD
How does Epic keep fucking up?
Steam isn't even doing anything for fuck's sake.
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU LOSE TO A COMPETITOR THAT DOES NOTHING?

Disagree with you want, but I really don't think a store with an economy model based entirely on fortnite will last even two years.
You'd have to be a real fool to buy games on epic store, knowing it won't be around very long.
Made a few for you to post around
People should shop the nigger stole my bike one with Steam saying "hey thats my game"!
>Released in 2017
>Still strong as ever in 2019
Nice try, Steamdrone.
1/3
Damn, looks like running a storefront ain't so easy...
Bloodborne is going to be on Epic eventually.
Keep crying steam drones.
Cheers mate, I have a feeling we're going to need them.
2/3
>Still strong as ever in 2019
League of Legends managed to survive for years and there is no sign of it dying anytime soon. Fortnite is going to stay for years.
And my personal favorite.
3/3
They're always fucking up, gonna need it sooner or later.
>epic launcher wasn't even a store for third parties until late 2018
Origin could be good in theory, however they have done some questionable coding decisions.
>Epic Games caught by surprise as people actually buy games for once.
Opened this thread 10 minutes ago and I'm still laughing like a retard.
This sale doesn't seem very "epic".
>me buying a whopping 5 games
>ranging from $5 to $50.
And that kids, is why Tim will win.
Okay Yea Forums listen up, Tim here.
You have ten seconds to come up of a sure fire way to make EGS successful and replace Steam with it.

Sell loli VN and Nukige.
NOOOOOOOOO it's lies! Fuck off gaben! steam is kill!
Everybody that wants rocket league already bought it on steam. Epic money can only get them going for so long
>search for VtMB 2
>no result
Holy shit, they actually pulled the game from store. This level of incompetence is amazing, no wonder steam doesnt give a shit, epic can implode on itself just fine without any help.
They're going to have to make it free and copy the fortnite microtransaction model (it's already like 70% implemented anyway)
No one in the journalists sphere is reporting this, it will pass without a hitch.
Silence is golden as they say.
>"NOOO, EPIC STORE WOULD HAVE SAVED US INDIE DEVELOPERS FROM STEAM TYRANNY AND WOULD HAVE BTFO'D THE INCEL TERRORIST GOOBERGATOR GAMERS NOOOOOO"
>Raise price because you added stuff in your game
Is there soemthing I missed or those devs are literally absolutely 100% retarded?
I wonder how the Valve offices look right now.
Gotta make money somehow, not like they're getting a constant influx of cash from sales
O LAWD IZZAT SUM EPIC FAIL GUY
This whole sale thing is a mess, and I doubt they were planning on raising the price right at this moment.
That said it's been "early access" standard to have the game at a lower price early in the early access and higher close to and ultimately at release. They've stated this up front ahead of time too. Version 1.0 will be more expensive and the price will keep rising until they hit 1.0.
he is not doing one sadly he is doing multiple

I love this so much.
Well thats gonna fuck them in the ass since raising the price of a product before it goes k. sale is highly illegal in yurop and aussieland
>No Shopping cart
BIG YIKES
i buy from greenmangaming cuz theyre legit and sometimes have better deals than steam sales. basically steam keys for even cheaper
steam does the same shit.
I thought Devs/Whoever took the yellow money? Are they allowed to just take their game off of Epic because of the sale?
Yeah I know. They might get fucked by it.
Or they'll argue that because of the updates it's no longer the same product. But who knows how that'd hold up in court.
This shit is relatively common though. Most of the time I think it just flies under the radar.
>Paradox does the same shit
FTFY, and when paradox did this, their games got reviewbombed and their sales plummeted, in addition to bad pr
I've really been impressed by how Ubisoft have handled this EGS situation.
since everyone knows you have to use their launcher most people abandon buying games their games on EGS so they get the full 100% cut, whoever decided on this strategy for the company is going to get a big fucking raise/promotion
I think namco/capcom did it as well with no repercussions.
Nigger it trust was ever an issue egs wouldn't have gotten anything.
I'm not so sure about Epic anymore lads.
Like it's been half a year already, most of their exclusives are already slowly getting ready to ship out to stores outside of Epic and the only thing their store has really bragged about is WWZ selling 250k copies. Ubisoft -- one of the few big publishers they partnered are literally only using them to shill Uplay and this will probably be the same for every other AAA studio that might think of partnering with them. Also, for as much as Randy says bullshit on twitter, Borderlands 3 only has a six month exclusivity deal. Six months for arguably one of the more high profile games of this year. Not even a year. And as a side note, Japanese developers are still 100% going to flock to steam from the success of Capcom and Sekiro alone.
Then we go to the idea of exclusivity in the first place. Metro Exodus already has DLC coming next year, BL3, Outer Worlds, etc. will probably get expansions too. These DLCs will drop right after they come out of exclusivity, then doesn't it seem like it's 100% better to just wait for it? Not even mentioning their stance on curation, they said they won't be adding trash and while they certainly aren't adding any shovelware, this sale highlights just how mediocre their catalog is. The more they try to emulate the thing steam does or the more they try to berate steam, the more people realize just how much steam actually does. They're ironically steam's best marketing strategy right now.
And now with all this shit around the sales happening, I'm really not sure any more.
They really are just becoming "yeah that's just another launcher to pay attention to" instead of them actually trying to challenge steam but instead of Origin/Uplay/Battlenet/etc. they're just "that launcher that supports UE games", or "that launcher where people beta test and exclusive game".
I mean, who even gives a fuck about the 12% cute anymore? It seems like all the news sites already stopped giving a fuck about it.
man, those were the times
any publicity is good publicity
in a way they're right but it's possible to fuck up bad enough that they lose money on this, for example if peoples accounts get hacked because their security is shit then there's no money to be made there unless they're draining people's banks themselves
told you guys, never buy from Chinese scammers
How many of Epic's PC Gaming Show reveals, do you imagine are currently at this very moment advertised on other platforms only to be pulled after the show?
>12% cute
88% funny?
>shopping cart
>more than 6 months
I know japs are awful programmers, but are chinks too?
Heh.
is everybody just abolutely incompetent these days?
I get that devs have been forced to hire based on gender and race instead talent for sometime now thanks to liberals which naturally is going to reduce quality but this is getting ridicules
>raise price before the sale
>publishers knew too late about the sale
How has nobody called them out on this yet, this is highly illegal in the EU.
Just like what happened with Fallout 76,artificially raising the price of an item in the store and keeping it on sale indefinetely, got called out and they removed the fake price
So what.

SOMEONE GETS IT
JEWS ARE LITERALLY YOU AN INCOMPLETE EXPERIENCE EVERY TIME
>I mean, who even gives a fuck about the 12% cute anymore?
Epic themselves stated that a 12% cut was unsustainable in the long run.
100% IMAGINE
I actually would have bought something if they accepted my Paypal. But they don't so I couldn't care less about this.
wait really? sauce?
How many of Epic's planned E3 reveals you think just bailed on contract negotiations after this shitshow?
You have my boner attention user.
Holy shit.
HEY GUYS HEY GUYS
I think we should all create epic accounts (make an alt email, don't give tencent your info) and use the $10 each account gets to buy games with the heaviest discounts that we can.
We can get Epic to lose so much money if we do well enough.
Maybe get some of the other boards in on it.
>tfw every week I check my emails there's a bunch of games in my wishlist on sale
just last week they had the golden sale which was all japanese games, legit half my wishlist was on sale
didn't buy shit though because I got a backlog and I'm not in the mood for those games right now
fuck off
Free Tibet Tiananmen Square protests of 1989
You do automatically get the difference refunded if you bought it like a week before the sale.
>Hey guys we should all make accounts on the Epic Game Store and buy games from Epic!
>Haha that'll show them!
oh no my internets ching chong ching chong
For real though, Epic's paying publishers for the discounts. We can fucking rape Epic's profits without paying a dime.
Shit. This keeps getting better. The Diablo shit, F76, Anthem fucking Bioware up savagely, AND now Epic is necking itself?
And how can a fucking online storefront not have SHOPPING CART? Sales melting down the store, I can make sense of, however fucking retarded it sounds, but lacking the most basic of functions of a storefront? After hyping yourself up to be the biggest competitor in online distribution of video games?
>feel when unironically love pickle juice
I still pick up what I want to play for -75% within two years of release aside from the occasional day one buy, and as much as I liked the insane flash sales for their discounts, it really wasn't worth obsessively checking Steam every 8 hours for 3-6+ weeks a years and prefer the current type holiday-wide discounts.
Buy games with the free ten bucks Epic gives us. Then, Epic has to pay the game publishers the money we saved because it wasn't the publishers' choice to put the games on sale.
>Sony might not be there anymore
Fucking NETFLIX is going to be there instead. It's going to be amazing.
But then I have Epic Game Store on my computer. I don't see how I win here.

WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK IS THIS TIMELINE
>Price raising right before a sale
Isnt this incredibly illegal?

Dont know about US.
lmao outjewed

He started flossing.
How about during the sale?
>>Price raising right before a sale
>Isnt this incredibly illegal?
Yes.
It i illegal to increase prices just before or during the sale.
who ever thought managing a store needed so much efforts?
... Oh wait
The Epic Store just loves digging its own grave
My favorite part is Valve remaining silent all the time.
>Account get Fraudalent for buying too many game!
>I-It's fine! STOP TALKING ABOUT IT!
>Gaben once again wins by doing absolutely fuckall
HOW DO THEY KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT?
>tfw hate steam but hate ebin more
i liked the idea of steam having competition but i didnt want it to be like this, this exclusitivity shit is driving me mad and thats without mentioning uncle mao's shady bullshit.
at the same time now valves ineptitude will rule until the end of time
It's because Valve isn't really losing. Epic on the other hand keeps screeching about it's huge successes in effort to convince devs and consumers about winning.
>store manager sees a man buying too many apples.
>must be a fraudulent credit card.
you don't understand, it's really hard to do something students program in an afternoon and that can be found already done, for free, at state of the art by a few google search.
probably a mix of implants and crowns
To be fair E3 stands only for Electronic Entertainment and that goes for a lot of things
Despacito, play Country Roads.
Nigger i've been waiting for bl3 for 7 years now randy can eat a fucking bullet for taking a deal with epic with a game thats been expected for this long
Doesnt matter how long you have to wait for it to come out onto other launchers it shouldn't be accepted even if its obly a 1 day exclusivity
Imagine how once EB crashes, all those exclusives will come crawling back to steam.
I had a conversation with my friend about this. He was wondering why Valve haven't really acknowledged any of the epic store shite but what do they honestly even need to do at this point? Epic has surrounded themselves with poor press due to their own incompetence. Valve are sitting pretty.
Steam does similar things. For example, if you buy multiple copies of a game and then gift them all to other people that's considered "suspicious behavior" and your account will be flagged.
Someone bought 5 games!? Do we even have 5 games?
SHUT IT DOWN
>consumer rights
>USA
lmao bud
This is like a handicap Olympics race where Epic keeps falling over and getting injured and Steam never signed up and isn't even watching.
lmao I hope ubisoft sues epic for breach of contract
Imagine walking into a supermarket to buy enough groceries to survive for a full week, but they don't have shopping carts.
Imagine going to Walmart to buy a bunch of practical bulk items and they don't have shopping carts.
Imagine going to Walgreens to buy a bunch of miscellaneous sundries like shampoo and toilet paper and coffee filters only to find out that they don't have any shopping carts.
So this is why Phoenix Point is ass cheap now.
I still bought it though
Nope, thats literally half a year or more away from being implemented.
>Randy is the only one that fully fell for the epic chink store ruse
Based Randy always outdoing himself
You realize and understand why Bethesda crawled back to Steam after its own store launcher fiasco.
no excuses for shitty store
GET FUCKED CHINKS
Hahaha retards lol. This is what you get with your shit tier chinerman backing lolol.
>borderlands no longer purchasable
lol
I'm surprised it was available at all with a discount considering it's not even released yet.
he is getting old, and because of that, he is losing weight, he is probably at its lower weight in his entire life.
What are you talking about? Bethesda still has games exclusive to their store. They never really left Steam, much less went crawling back. They just keep the online games they run exclusive to their launcher.
nope. Lurk moar, seething shill
Is it just not displayed on store or you can't pay for it?
Because it is displayed on my end and it has a discount.
it's still there, it's discounted, AND randy shilled it
>he is probably at its lower weight in his entire life.
He's still obese. Gabe Newell used to be of normal weight. He became morbidly obese after he quit Microsoft and stopped having to work for a living.
Steam is fucking shit! yet no body can fucking beat them, Its like they aren't even trying to do better than steam.
So if steam is shit, and you cant even beat that, what does that make you?
>OH NO NO NO NO NO, THEY ACTUALLY BOUGHT OUR GAMES, I-IS THIS FRAUD? GOOD THING WE DON'T HAVE A SHOPING CART, QUICK SHUT IT DOWN!
>handicap Olympics
>implying
nobody but Epic enrolled in that race though.
Origin/Uplay etc. are created mostly to hold monopoly on their respective creator's best franchise
GoG is the best out of all since they don't try too hard to force their storefront onto their users
And steam isn't retarded enough to play along with Epic's chink money burning tactics.
>AND randy shilled it
>Check his Twitter
>"Save $10 on Borderlands 3! Also works if you have already pre-ordered, I’m told. Epic sure wants to earn your trust."
>Epic sure wants to earn your trust
>These DLCs will drop right after they come out of exclusivity
is it confirmed? consoles can have time-exclusive post launch content too, it'd be incredibly stupid of Epic to not secure exclusivity for those too
I am sure they actually complained when the Metro shit happened because of how sudden it was
they probably want to focus on actually doing shit like Index though, even if it isn't developing video games
So at what point does a game store think it's reasonable to go:
>Someone is buying more than one game? Pic related.
They should have used squarespace, shopping cart comes with it.
So if you already preordered it epic give you $10?
Hasn't stopped Epic from doing it during the Steam sale many many times
Jesus Christ, Tim. What the fuck are you doing?
Is this fucking real? How could a company with pockets as deep as EPIC take any longer than a month to get that shit done.
Very very low energy
Humble store is secretly the best though.
>Sells a lot of DRM free installers like gog, clearly marked on the game's page
>those DRM free purchases ALSO give you a Steam key on top
>Loyalty program where 10% of money spent returns to your wallet as virtualbux
>Very frequent sales
>Additional discounts if you subscribe to their lootbox shit for whatever reason
>Lurk moar
You say that like Yea Forums is a great source for accurate information instead of just being full of retards like yourself who spout off utter bullshit.
It took Steam 10 years to let you have more than one steamfolder to install games in. 10 fucking years of people having to install all their games in 1 location.
Hahaha, well memed Randy, well see you on gog and/or steam!
>More than 6 months to implement a fucking shopping cart
Fucking christ I'm laffin
>How could a company with pockets as deep as EPIC take any longer than a month to get that shit done.
They are managed/funded by chinks
In their homeland their users are expected to be fucked over daily because the upper-management only listens to the gommies who enact stupid laws banning things they don't like, they don't expect customers to actually punch back so they never cared enough to make postie changes.
>CEOs get a fat paycheck for doing nothing.
man, you are young
JUST
Doesnt anyone rememeber what a mess Steam was in its infancy?
He went into detail on H3. They cut his face open, pulled his teeth out and bolted these in.
Stupid fuck couldn't shut his mouth for a few days to recover, kept bleeding
Irrelevant. Ebin is attempting to compete with Steam of 2019, not with Steam of 2006.
It's not 2003 anymore. You'd think that there are people in tech business of 2019 who know how to create functioning online stores without having to go through baby steps where everything is unknown.
I don't' think so desu
LoL is mostly the same after all these days, every month fortnite adds some autistic shit that pisses off pros and casuals alike, eventually they will quit because all the autistic gadgets take away from the core BR experience.
so were most other storefronts but they didn't make a fuss about themselves
lol
>Tim has been dead for years and it's just a flesh golem animated by Xi's dark magic
It all makes sense now
>Wishlist BEFORE shopping cart.
>GIFTING TBD
>user reviews in 4-6 months (at least they plan on adding it)
>In build group creator.
>Overlay BEFORE SHOPPING CART!
>Newsfeed and follow NOT in the game by default.
WHAT!
Doesn't matter, if they want to compete with 2019 Steam they should at the very least match the quality of Steam instead of just making Steam look better by comparison
i didnt even knew about the sale.
for me the most important thingg today is that Guacamelee is free on the humble store.
Razer store got closed
I dunno if they actually made any sales
im just going to download it, if its alright then i might buy it
>i was taught how to make a shopping cart as one of my first programming exercises when i was 15
Sure would have been nice if my 4 year CS degree actually taught me something practical like that.
It is not at all comparable to use a company getting started in the 2000s, especially when not much, if anything, like it existed at the time, to another company trying nowadays. They have all the ground already built up by their predecessors to stand on. I mean, for fuck's sake, what kind of online store for ANYTHING doesn't even have a goddamn shopping cart?
Bethesda came graveling back to Steam after their launcher failed, and that UI update from a while back also hinted that EA is also coming back into the fray.
Yeah, Steam sucked. But implementing basic e-commerce features today is not even remotely difficult. Random ma and pa stores do it easily. Epic should be able to.
>has millions of dollar to buy exclusivity
>doesn´t have any money for a working store
>and that UI update from a while back also hinted that EA is also coming back into the fray.
source
does Steam has Tencent, a 3127(THREE THOUSAND AND ONE HUNDRED TWENTY SEVEN BILLION)B RMB behind his back during its infancy?
good try though shill
With all the money Epic has why don't they just hire a couple of extra IT interns for a weak and at least get the basic features like a shopping cart up? Adding in those basic features really isn't that hard
I don't want steam from 2006 today, nor do I want software that doesn't have features that Steam had back in the 2006.
EA left because of Valve policies regarding DLC sales. Valve hasn't changed those policies. EA is not going to come back for any game where that's going to be an issue, i.e. 90% of them. Why would EA come back anyway? Origin hasn't been an enormous failure for them. Origin exclusive games are routinely top selling games. EA does something Valve doesn't to keep people on their platform. They actually make games.
>EA Makes games
I really hate you for even introducing such idea into peoples minds, EA is a predatory publisher that buys companies out and kills them for following their orders.
Reminder that Epic literally has no automated API for updating games on their store and they have to have someone do it manually. If they release games too fast it would stop another game from being updated.
jesus, i remember looking up prices for prosthetic teeth a couple years ago because of two molars turning to shit (turned out they were wisdom teeth so i didn't really need new ones) and one single prostethic cost like 300 bucks, excluding surgery
>462459825
Nah, as long as you react in time for when your opponents develop things that are popular and use your larger resources to make a better version.
It's like how large mining companies only buy up land when some small-time operation finds something on their small claim, then the big corps buy up all the mining rights to the land surrounding that claim, basically forcing that small operation out of their claim and nabbing all the rock money.
Once you're on top, you have to really not want to try to stay there for you to fall.
if only i could turn back time...
>facebook filename
Developing a brand new product/service in 2006 is a lot different than copying existing products in 2019
Poor doge got too fat
> hook line and sinker
Oh lord nice try buddy.
>EA is a predatory publisher that buys companies out and kills them for following their orders.
Yeah, Valve has done that too. How do you think they acquired Team Fortress? Counter-strike? Left 4 Dead? DOTA? Valve is an acquisition company as well. And they shit these games up with micro-transactions, often involving content made by the community and not actually Valve themselves, i.e. paid mods. How the fuck is Valve sacred when they do this sort of shit? Are you a shill or just meme spouting retard?
more like EPIC MEGA FAIL
I think it's pretty obvious that the benefit of taking a higher cut means you can better develop and support your platform to make a robust and enjoyable experience, not only for shopping but for playing and enjoying games.
Valve bought right to CS, Invited TF team to work for them for money, L4D no idea, Invited IceFrog to work on DOTA2 with Valve and they didn't fire anyone for under performing.
It was also first of its kind and still finding itself. Others don't have that excuse. They have guidelines which to IMPROVE on and they can't even do that.
You joke but I'm job hunting right now, and a new EG store focused internship for this fall popped up in my search yesterday
This shit is so rushed it's not even funny, even the fucking internships are on the roadmap
That's probably because they want to monitor the content that is being put on their site. Nintendo and Sony do the same thing. I remember one dev complaining it took Nintendo literally weeks to update a store page. Valve don't care about looking after their store.
Yea, but that was how long ago user, how does that excuse it? "It's worse because it's new, so people should use it!" isn't really a valid reason to swap, you want reasons here:
Why should I use gog over steam:
>No DRM, you can play your games without a store.
Okay, why should I use "EPIC STORE":
>Uhh, we give you free games as a reward for putting up with us.
Fair enough. Why should I use Uplay?
>BECAUSE WE SAY SO, AND WE WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO PLAY ANY OF OUR GAMES WITHOUT IT, EVEN IF YOU BUY OUR GAME ON A STORE, WE'LL FORCE YOU TO INSTALL UPLAY TO USE OUR GAME, GET DESTROYED KID!
Disgusting, but what can you do? Why should I use bethesda store?
>Because Todd said buy fallout 76.
Now that's a based reason.
Any decent CS degree covers that in the database and weblanguage lecture.
>Valve don't care about looking after their store.
I guess epic really cares a lot because every fucking thing they do takes so long
I bet this week's fuck up delayed their roadmap by an entire week, based on this
League is different from Fortnite even if they both are derivative games that successfully managed to leech off very popular games, because in LoL you can autistically devout months of your life to learn a single champion and you'll get consistent results, and you have more than 100 to choose for such an endeavor. In Fortnite it's always the same: build and shoot until there's no one left. There's no depth and since the drops are random you can get fucked if you get no good loot or the other players holed up in a very nasty spot. It's too simple to keep people hooked to it for years, unlike ASSFAGGOTS that can be made fresh again with one or two big balance patches that change how the champions work.
