Just started RE4 today, game crashed on me twice in the same area during 1-2 so I'm uninstalling the graphic mods since I can't install the 4gb patch since I pirated it
It's very hectic. Usually I'd be trying to save my ammo for encounters, but this game is not letting up, I'm starting to use my Shotgun a lot more than I initially thought.
So far it's good, but I'm still waiting for it to fully click with me and I love it. So far I'd probably place it somewhere between 3 and 1 maybe, but I'm not sure myself.
So far it's 2 > 3 > 1 > CV > 0
2 and 3 were a lot of fun. I loved 2 quite a lot, and 3 was nice but sadly not as good as 2 imo. 1 was great but I can't remember anything about it, it's been around 4 years since I played it. CV felt too wacky for me, I felt it was just a bit too "B-Movie", but otherwise a solid game.
Wasn't a huge fan of how 0 handled having no item boxes. Took me around 6 hours to notice that I don't need to lug everything around to the next area, just the essentials since the game gives you everything you need pretty much. My own fault really, but it really made me dislike playing the game half the time. If I ever replay it, I'll think differently.

RE2 (10/10) < REmake (10,10) - is objectively flawless, but I love the story and music more in re2, only complaint it gets way to easy because they start throwing a fuck ton of ammo. RE4 (9/10 (goes on for too long) < RE3 (8.5/10) < RE2Make (8-8.5/10) < RE6 Which gets way to much shit same as RE0 which I'd pair together (8/10). RE7 (6/10) I really don't like that much even after playing the dlc which was pretty good, ,madhouse, and most achievements it's still not for me. I'm starting re5 this month and I haven't played the rest

The lack of an item box was the least of RE0 problems
It had really bad boss fights, terrible enemies, broken hitboxes, uninspiring setting (Not counting the train), really bad main characters, AI was bad, the fact that Billy couldn't fucking combine herbs, lame villain, the worst case of backtracking in the series (FUCK THE HOOKSHOT on your first playthrough), respawning enemies, cheap hits, and it has by far the worst main game to date. Who ever thought that Leech Hunter should have RNG should be fucking shot.

Hope you like it. I just finished it myself this week for the first time and thought it was great, but in a different way than classic RE for sure. Re the ammo thing, it's not as lenient as people make out - people only say this because using effective melee strats in combat means you end up saving a ton of ammo, whereas if you don't try to sneak in melee for most of your encounters, your supply will dip a lot here and there. They would probably respond by saying that using melee well correlates to getting better at the game, which is fair, but really play however you find most fun IMO, since the game gives you lots of options once you git gud. I guess some small side-notes: Feel free to sell the treasures whenever (just make sure you combine the ones that can be combined), and you can move on to new shooting ranges before getting all the caps (that will be relevant later). Oh, and the game takes a bit of a dip in quality at some segments, but perhaps you'll disagree. Anyways, have fun with it.

Depends. The Punisher for example seems like a good pistol being able to shoot thru multiple targets, and its unique lets it shoot through 5...but if you're facing 5 enemies its just better to use, idk, a shotgun. Penetration isnt ever really a stat that matters except for the castle ganados with shields and even then shotgun>punisher. Its just better to sell it and continue upgrading. The broken butterfly you can get for free and is a decent Magnus, if youre going dicks out upgrading it to 50FP lets you BTFO bosses for the rest of the game. The Killer7 is the better gun until you fully upgrade the BB.

also it should be noted that since upgrading the ammo capacity on a magnum gives you a fresh clip, on first playthroughs you should never reload a magnum. Once you're empty, just upgrade capacity and save the bullets for end game.

Not really. In both A and B scenarios of either combination she spends most of the end game running around pointing guns at the protagonists. Never happens in the original, that's a DC/remake thing. In the original she gives quite a number of "You murdered my husband, I'll never forgive you!" speeches and doesn't seem interested in putting him down.

Where are you getting this from? In the remake she apologizes to William before shooting him so I'm not sure where you're getting this idea that she's lusting after William's blood. The only cutscene in DC where Annette and William are together she tries to see if there is any humanity left in William before loading up a pistol with some special bullets to put him down. In both versions, both are obviously saddened by what they're doing but know it's necessary to stop the G-Virus

A lot of the enemies you can just run past, or they require minimal ammo to get past. The biggest problems for me were the G mutants in the sewers and that final hall when you get outside. But as long as you have at least 2 or 3 flash/frag grenades they're easy. Zombies can be cheesed with shotgun headshots or SMG legshots.
