When I first watched Saki I thought it was dumb too, but then I couldn't stop watching and then I had rewatched it multiple times and imported the manga. It's got DEEP LORE and interesting characters but I kinda dislike how as the series went on, Ritz seems to have given up on all character design in favor of big boobs.
I mean it was cute at first with Nodoka's nodokas but then you get to Jindai in the national s, and then you notice every girl's chest is growing every volume, even though not even one day has passed in the Sakiverse.

the bond tab is for when they're bond 5. if you give them all those items, you get their alternate outfit and 3 emotes.
the gift tab is for raising bond. don't give them epic gifts, save them for the bond 5 requirements.

As long as your auto-discards never deal in, I supposed it could be possible to lose few enough points so that you stay in 2nd at best. But without actually winning any points yourself, I don't think you could ever get to 1st.

Unless - what if you were in tenpai at the end of some rounds? And nobody else was? You'd get 3000 points like that. But what are the odds of your auto-discarding character being in tenpai at the start of multiple rounds, and lasting to the end of the round without anyone else winning?

South is longer.

Just doing a ten roll is enough to get the stones to upgrade a character. Either than or doing the 5 rolls from this month and next for f2p.

The biggest issue you'll have is the 5 purple gifts. You just need piles of dust and roll the purple gift bag. 50 dust with 1/8 chance and 50% back on fail rolls. Easily 1k dust total to get a bond upgrade.

Riichi points stay in the pot until the next winner is decided. This lasts the full game. That's why under the dora indicator, there's a marker for how many riichi sticks are available.

Timeouts in blitz are brutal, because last second is sort of glitched (has to do with guaranteeing an uniform responses for every participant), so if you fuck up you'll get stuck in 2s per decision loop, which is not nearly enough to precisely think about sudden new hand branches or defensive strategies.

Most of time it happens when I'm trying to post in the thread during play and I don't hear the call blip, which drains my precious seconds.

The one I use the most is this one. Someone gets double ron'd, or ruins someone's monster hand with a tanyao, or I deal in after calling riichi, it just fits every situation.

That's the same thing as the yakuhai triplet yaku, so your pair just needs to be either any numbered tiles or a wind that isn't your seat or round

Try to build big hands, but don't get too ambitious and have something to fall back on if you don't get good draws
It's a gut feeling dude. If you feel like doing something might be bad don't do it. You probably feel it sometimes. bells and whistles tell you not to discard a tile but you do it anyway even though it's "safe". Then you get RON RIICHI IPPATSU TOI TOI DORA DORA'd. Sometimes you think that maybe you'll draw that dragon tile next turn but discard it anyway due to efficiency. Then the next turn you draw that dragon and discard again, and then it happens again a few turns later. It's because you're not listening to your instincts. You can't learn those from books user, it's all in your gut. My worst streaks are always when i'm on a bad streak and I start trying to build a specific "quick" hand to just scrounge up some points. I start going against what I feel is right and it always leads to me losing.

Mahjong feels more like you're fighting against yourself than your opponents.

They're playing some kind of cheating mahjong so everyone knows what's going on but, I think they only lose points if they're caught in the act, not if it already happened.

As always, winning rounds in mahjong is 1/4 of the winning strategy and is in of itself based on luck and tile efficiency (sometimes).

And always remember, you can tsumo a furiten hand even with a tile you've discarded just as long as it has yaku.

As with everything in mahjong, depends.
People with a monster hand(cock) tend to be braver with their discards due to the simple trade of risk and reward. Hell, if I see two honours in the ponds and I have a tanyao dora 3, I sure as shit am discarding the third and getting my ass ronned on a tanki piece of shit wait.

And another thing to remember is that winning by tsumo with a closed hand is a yaku.

Anyone who actually thinks they can read discards is full of it. Even suji should only be used as a backup, since just insta riichi on a closed wait is a pretty common strategy.

If you are like 2 away from tenpai, you should be able to tell what tiles will improve your hand, and what tiles you should be discarding once you draw one of those. You can do this while your opponents are going, that way you don't need to think what you should be discarding or even if you should be calling, you should already know when the opportunity presents itself.

At 3 or more, I feel like it should be pretty easy to know what you don't need to discard pretty quickly. If you don't, practice for a bit with the mahjong efficiency trainer.

As long as you don't come in 4th the penalties are negligible for 3rd, and you have a better chance to get at least 2nd place.
