I'm about to upgrade my graphics card. What are some graphically extensive games that are actually fun?

I'm buying a 2080 on my birthday and nothing is going to stop me. If you were smart you'd do the same OP.
there's basically nothing to play desu...
this, video games are fucking shit now. make sure to invest in a 1tb SSD due to unoptimization
All the fun games run on a decade old CPUs and 3yo mid-tier GPUs.
This 100%
The Talos Principle & Serious Sam 3 are great for graphics benchmarking, thanks to their fuck-huge options menus. In plural.
Donut County
>graphically extensive
truth...
>Not ti
why? It will last longer
Hitman
Dues ex mankind divided brought my 1080 i7 to its knees with everything on ultra.
*Ahem*
Minecraft w/ Ray Tracing
Not everyone wants to sell their kidneys to play games on slightly higher Frame Rate.
I need to be spoonfed here
Direct me to a download please
Thanks
Isn't Hitman more CPU intensive?
that's solely because the game offers MSAA options, which is not much lighter than the pure SSAA this day and age.
Friendly reminder that graphics don't actually matter. Fun comes from gameplay and imagination, not a photorealistic pimple popping in realtime on John McCODProtag's ass.
Yakuza Kiwami 2 is pretty demanding.
Not the best looking game, but demanding nonetheless, and actually fun.
Seconding this
Gameplay is dependent on graphics and processing power.
>1080 ti's no longer in production
>don't want to buy used becaused worried the card might shit out earlier than usual or the possibility that it was a mining card
What's the next best thing that isn't a RTX 2080 ti but matches performance?
True. Reason why I do not plan on upgrading. Most games are just too disappointing these days.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands
a 1080TI
>Gameplay is dependent on graphics
Dwarf fortress has amazing gameplay despite basic ascii graphics. Try again.
Wildlands is trash
DF becomes a complete resource hog once you reach a certain population level. Stick to games you actually play.
Just get an above minimum wage job.
>within margin of error of a 1080ti
>memetech thats used in like 2 games
>significantly more expensive
OH NO NO NO
>completely abandons the graphics argument to chase a strawman
Thanks for the concession.
>2080 barely faster than a 1080 Ti
>2070 a bit better than a 1080
>2060 usually weaker than a 1080
The fuck happened?
I remember when the x60 GPU would easily outperform the previous generation x80 GPU.
you can get a refurbished 1080ti off amazon, for much less than a 2080 or even a 2080ti. The 1080ti has comparable performance to the 2080ti anyways.
>1080ti has comparable performance to the 2080ti anyways.
No it doesn't. Most of the time it doesn't even beat a 2080
Nvidia has been phoning it in for years because AMD was so bad. AMD needs to step up get back into the high end to force some real advancements.
Not really. It was just the case for the 9XX series. The real issue with the 2XXX series is the gap is like a year longer than most gens so you'd expect more but we got a mediocre jump for terrible prices.
Hitman 2
