I've got one of the original slims, it's outlived my og PS3 by like a decade. Pretty shitty, I loved my BC PS3 but it shit the bed almost as quickly as the original 360.

The PS3/Xbox 360 made me thing future gens will have lifespans on console that are short as fuck. I mean my PS2 is 12 years old and its still alive and well. Even thought this would happen with PS4 and Xbox One but so far nothing happened after 7 years

PS3, at least the Xbone had one decent game with KI. I bought a PS3 at launch and holy fuck was everything terrible except for Motorstorm and even that was lacking enough content to make it good.

Resistance wasn’t total shit but it wasn’t a system seller. A lot of people especially on here won’t admit it but Uncharted was really the first system seller.

I liked resistance one but it aged like absolute ass and the latter half was terrible. The third game was bretty good though outside the Shotgun feeling terrible in all the games except 1.

it was a mockup of the real thing. sony was actually considering doing it but the immediate distaste didnt sit well so they backpedaled with "its to show how it feels to play ps3" or some shit. they were 100% ready to move forward with it, but never did
also pic related. 2 hdmi ports was supposed to happen but nvidia fucked up the chips (to nobody's surprise) and while it did work on early prototypes, it was dropped pretty goddamn soon. multiple LAN ports was also a thing but like the 2 hdmi outputs, it was determined that thats a somewhat dumb idea given the wya the gaming landscape was changing. people didnt do lan parties as much anymore

They literally allowed an OS to be installed on the PS3 on top of the having bundles that came with Blu-Ray discs in place of games and PlayStation Home which was basically The Sims crossed with MySpace and later on being the first console to have dedicated movie and music storefronts.

I will never forget the shitfest that was E3 2006. It feels just like yesterday. I was still in high school. I remember seeing the presentation on IGN or Gamespot or some game news site and the whole board was plastered with discussions on it.

I remember me and some of my friends going into our school library just to see it first after school. None of us could afford any of this shit. We knew maybe 1 rich kid who had a PSP and would never bring it in because it garnered too much attention. The rest of us were stuck with 1 or two consoles each. All of us had gameboys at least.

Then the youtube videos and edits started popping up and Yea Forums wouldn't shut up about that for months. So much fun we had. Sony niggers were common even back then and were hillariously defending this shit as well. It was an absolute joy seeing them butthurt for FOUR whole years as Sony got its ass handed to them and nearly went bankrupt.

the condor cluster (us airforce supercomputer cluster made of 1700 launch ps3s) was the only example on hand of how powerful they can be without GPU(RSX) access. im sure they found a way to get shit working but im not inclined to believe they used it in practice snce the CELL was just that good anyway

Reddit spacing", also known as "double spacing", is a forced meme where some psychopath called Tioga060 started a coordinated campaign to label paragraphs as a Reddit shibboleth, even though the use of paragraphs have been around since the dawn of the site as a basic readability technique. He (along with redditors on Yea Forums and newfag autists) made it semi-plausible by pointing the finger at Reddit markdown formatting and newfags fell for it en masse and they've been using the phrase in a desperate attempt to fit in. Back in the day, it was blockposting like this that would get you told to fuck off. Look up "reddit spacing" in any Yea Forums archive and you'll see it started in 2016 with one or two mentions in 2015.

There are also newfags who start screaming "REDDIT SPACING" when they don't actually have a counter argument so they hope to derail the discussion by using the phrase against properly formatted long form replies as a wedge to start throwing ad hominems. I've been on this shithole since 2006 and people have been using paragraphs from the beginning.
