How do you guys name your characters

I use the default or closest to canon name possible. If it's something like pokemon or a sim like animal crossing I'll use my own name or my online handle.

I usually use the default name or my handle if there's no default. For a more roleplaying heavy game (e.g. Kingmaker) I'll think up a unique name that fits how I plan to play the character.

I just use my gaming handle, unless the character is female, and then I use a more feminine sounding word that means the same.

Usually whatever the canon name is.
If I'm creating a totally original character I tend to just give them some really plain name these days like Frank or Bob or whatever cause I'm not very creative.

Naming your characters is only there because jrpgs were initially clones of wrpgs where you got to create your own characters.

But naming your characters makes no sense when you have pre-defined characters like you do in most every jrpg. It's just a dumb vestigial relic.
