No he didn't. The coolest part of Metal Sonic is that he's actually faster than Sonic, in Sonic CD anyway, so it's an interesting matchup. Shadow is nearly as fast as Sonic at best which puts him about on the level of Tails and Knuckles, but he needs super faggy shoes to do it so he's actually below them.
