There's a farm here I guess

What's inside your tower?

Attached: strath.png (1366x768, 749K)

Anyone got any good vertical Melon/Pumpkin farm designs?
I would go for the simple big block of alternating Melon/Pumpkin with observers above the stems but it's not a very aesthetic shape imo.

Why is everyone on Yea Forums so shit at building?
Have some creativity lads.

Why does this look familiar?

you probably played on the server it was built on

IP: minecraft.bigbuttsin4k.com
If the domain doesn't work for some reason, try the IP address (104.219.5.56)

Minecraft version: 1.14.1
Pirate friendly:Yes, and we have skin support
Difficulty: Hard

>WTF is this server
A vanilla minecraft server Yea Forums plays together on. This server is up 24/7 and has been up for months.

>Is there any gay plugin bullshit
Nope, this is true vanilla, except for the password plugin. Use /register when you log in for the first time. You only need to log in every 24 hours.

Rules:
- don't be a dipshit

The architecture dipshit

About 20 floors of empty rooms

I think the builders based it off Stratholme

Attached: screenshot_16-05-2019-15-45-57.png (1536x801, 499K)

Did you actually build this? How long did it take?

I can't build cities
Walking around them all alone is just too sad

>shit at building
>almost always die while in a cave or trying to clear a structure
>no friends to play with
This is fine haha. For real though, I don't know why I have so much fun with the game even though I pretty much suck at everything it has to offer, while also having zero creativity to even try and build something that will inevitably look like shit anyway. Could be the fact that it's the only game my toaster can run.

Attached: 2018-02-28_05.20.18.png (1920x1080, 1.56M)

How the fuck can you build a city alone it would take you months

There's something appealing to just have a large world to walk around in.

Attached: 24f6df615a0f752722e411275789f792a6ff45f997fd134e33b44693f8916115.jpg (1920x1080, 479K)

lmao 2cow

Thanks user :)

That might be true. I guess there's also something satisfying about remembering crafting recipes and where to find what. That's the only thing I'm really good at haha.

Imagine building anything but dick architecture and dirt houses

I was super into Minecraft as a kid, but parents were poor as fuck and I never ended up getting it. Is it still worth?

Attached: ed267862b67c1bc3171d61d5063cbc5e.webm (800x392, 1.04M)

I mostly just start building something, think about how shit it looks, and give up

What the fuck is this?

Depending, do you like building, exploring and piano music? Then I'd say yes, but if you're more into other genres or someone who's easily bored if you can't find what you're looking for then I'd reconsider. The game still gets free yearly updates and mods/resource packs on the Java edition are free, so running out of content isn't really the problem. It's also currently cheaper because of its 10th anniversary.

Definitely

Honestly, yes. Stay away from 1.14 though, it's the laggiest piece of shit ever released.

Wurm, the game that came before minecraft and was hugely popular on Yea Forums. There is a long long long history of Yea Forums bros playing it.

Attached: 1460200565850.jpg (1920x1080, 324K)

Same. I guess my main problem is remembering what fucking cool things everyone else is building and downplaying my own capabilities. There was a time where I was decent or at least better at building though, built some Bedwars maps for a german Minecraft server with some other people. One ended up being accepted, so I consider that decent. Maybe I'm just better at building with someone else as the lead and without having to think of anything creative myself? I don't really know.

Attached: screenshot_16-05-2019-16-19-34.png (1536x864, 1.76M)

This. Wait for fixes. The performance they released that update with on Java is unacceptable, even though I really the new content.

Attached: 2018-02-28_05.36.45.png (1920x1080, 2.87M)

>1.14 snapshots literally said performance "improvements"
>literally end up making the game laggier
How the fuck is that even possible? Like I know Java itself is a piece of shit, but how can fuck up this bad to have the exact opposite of your intentions happen?

It looks comfy and soulless at the same time

The hilarious part is even singleplayer is fucked, which I assume is what they test with

It's soon time for a new world with buddies and more days wasted cobbling together redstone things

Attached: slaughterhouse short.webm (960x540, 2.65M)

I shouldn't have laughed as much as I did jesus christ.

And the best part is they already eliminated some lag hazards like Villager, Enderman and Wolf AI causing severe lags and it's still laggy as fuck in 1.14.1. I really want to know what exactly they changed, it worked pretty fine until then. Not even 1.13s new content packed oceans caused me that much lag.

Neat, I've been thinking about ways to automate leather farming, what generates the fire?

Is this game actually any good or is it a meme?

It is comfy and not soulless at all, dumb newfag

Attached: 1460010541046.jpg (1920x1080, 590K)

are you fucking blind?

I'm new to minecraft and I see it's lava from a dispenser but it's not an interaction I'm familiar with so I asked. Are you retarded?

It has an alternate setting too
Lava in a bucket in a dispenser

Attached: villager setting.webm (1280x720, 2.66M)

okay cool, fuck off now with your non-minecraft posts

I wouldn't be surprised if they were doing it intentionally to eventually kill off Java for bedrock

It is legitimately good, but it is designed as an MMO so you need to play with other people. The multiplayer aspects, unlike minecraft, are integrated into the game since it was originally an MMO. The game actually supports and encourages things like villages. It is still actively being developed, unlike minecraft. It has skills that you level up, rather than being a material grind like minecraft. Instead of spending your time traversing an endless generated map to find on resource you need, you improve your equipment, weapons, and armor and level up your skills. It's much better than minecraft as a multiplayer game, even without as many mods, but as a single player game it is naturally lacking. Overall it is a much more finished experience than minecraft is, and is still getting a lot of hefty updates unlike minecraft.

Attached: 30b7f403aaec9acdf995d48900e18c47c84c2361dbb9ac4e4d44cc7408772eb0.gif (1280x707, 786K)

That jew deserved it.

amazing how you always whine about how much better wurm is in every fucking minecraft thread
go make your own thread if you think it's so good

Oh and I think it ticks twice in a row to suck up the lava again

where can i get a 1.14 client with working multiplayer?

God it's gonna happen, isn't it? Like I had trust in them, saying Java and Bedrock are gonna be updated together, but shit like this is making it hard to believe. Java is released fucking buggy and laggy as shit. Villagers in Java are so fucking badly coded that they don't close their doors before going to bed, effectively killing them. And they are doing NOTHING about it.

Don't bother, 1.14 is too laggy to play in multiplayer

Farms are too efficient in minecraft in my opinion, you should be forced to make them larger

god i cant fucking wait to download like 200 mods when i finally get my new computer

with my current shitty laptop i cant even run 50 without it dropping to 30 fps

How do you have 50 mods? What mods do you currently use?

Yeah here you go, the observer block notices the state change of the redstone below it twice and outputs two ticks to the lava bucket above, long enough to toast a cow
For villagers one could make the second tick slightly delayed

Attached: lava bucket.webm (1280x720, 2.64M)

>he thinks 50 is high

Dude epic n based post.

beautiful, thanks! The verticality of redstone is still something I'm grappling with, the best I've made myself so far is some basic logic gates/clocks/memory units.

??

most modpacks use like 100 at minimum

Like look at this fucking shit
bugs.mojang.com/browse/MC-145769
You can't tell me that isn't intentional to make Bedrock more appealing. This is in the game since 19w11a and two of my villages effectively killed themselves thanks to them not closing their fucking doors. Mojang doesn't even comment on this issue.

I unironically installed Minecraft last week since 2010

Fuck me it has fuck tons of shit and I actually enjoy it

Attached: 1555943178551.jpg (663x663, 105K)

I just can't think of 50 mods I would want, unless I was using a modpack

Yeah what cubes get activated by what input and where the power extends is something I also have to look up after every hiatus
Like there's also exceptions like glass not transmitting power iirc

I wish I could believe they were just incompetent. Mojang is too stupid to implement object pools, they allocate and free hundreds of megabytes a second. It's fucking insane.

Just pretend you are chinese

Then its a normal day

Is this unmodded?

yes, why

I used to make stuff like this with industrial mods but I haven't touched vanilla in ages. How much more doable is automation now? I guess you can do quite a bit with pistons, water channels, and hoppers alone.

A sewer/canal system is a great idea, I want to try that out later

Really, I think their new updates are too ambitious for their own capabilities with Java. But then they should just take more time with the updates instead of releasing them half assed, buggy and laggy while patching their way into a playable state.

>love big autist farms
>waste over half the day replanting seeds
I don't want to spend an hour on my wheat, I know there was a way to automate it with a villager but not sure if that still works. What are some actually good auto farms boys?

It’s been a long time. How’s the adventuring? I heard there’s more premier buildings/dungeons/oceans to explore. I want to make a nomad character.

A lot more doable than before. I don't even play with industrial mods anymore. The main bottleneck now is hoppers. They're super slow. This is the initial design of the farm. It took 35 minutes to move all the wheat from water to chests. I replaced it with waterways and it takes about 10 seconds.

Attached: 2019-04-09_19.49.53.png (1366x768, 1.95M)

None of the new dungeons or structures are worth visiting.

You still have to replant the seeds by hand though, right?

this

Why does this game still feel so unfinished after so many years?

Cause Notch assembled the most retarded group of idiots before fucking off. Say what you want about him but when he was around the game had a better vision.

A skyscraper/factory type building on the left, with tall iron framed glass windows and copper factory roofs

Talking about farms, what's up with y level and mob spawn ? Apparently the higher your farm is the less efficient it is. I used to build mob farms above an ocean and wait way up in the sky so I wouldn't have to light up every caves under it. Can I still do that and build the farm around sea level or does it basically kill the spawn rate, and does the height at which I wait influence it ?

Yeah. Droppers/hoppers won't plant seeds into farmland. Villager wheat automation is better, but I prefer this.

Surprise, turns out Minecraft's appeal isn't in the graphics but in the simple yet appealing gameplay.

I don't have any pics of it but my magnus opus in vanilla MC is a fully automated furnace, with 25 furnaces in it
It was only about 95% coal efficient but it saved a lot of time and effort

You can buy it you fucking retard

I forgot my password for this server, what do I do?

If you played you'd understand a screenshot of something impressive you've built indicates a lot of gameplay put into it

My magnum opus is a swastika made of redstone painted on the floor with a device under it that makes it flash at a seizure inducing pace tbqh

Idea: what if Yea Forums got the best builders together and made an ultimate generated structures overhaul? Stuff would make dungeons, mine shafts, and strongholds better in a mod.

If your understanding of the game is as surface level as seeing screenshots of it, and you don't enjoy the concept, then sure it'd be like pointing at a lego model of a house and going "that's shit that's nothing like a house it's little plastic blocks retard"

I did something similar with doors a few times and hid them in multiple places in servers
the noise it made was awful and amazing

oh yeah, the noise generator is the best

you can make flying machines and shit with redstone but I'm too retarded to build anything more complex than a piston door

yeah but those flying machines are super laggy, slow, and don't really serve a purpose
I'd rather make mechanisms that are functional over mechanisms that don't really do anything

youtube.com/watch?v=QXay1pdfQpI

They're fun though

Listening to Minecraft music again, why is C418 so great?

Imagine actually playing adventure over building colossal mega structures and worlds in creative and then switching over to survival to live in them.

Hurray for texture packs

you can use fire charges too but you need blaze powder for it

>It is still actively being developed, unlike minecraft
They literally just came out with a new update

steamcharts.com/app/366220
LOL

>one update a year with barely any content of significance
Nice "updates". All the structures and mobs added are worthless. Whatever, since Notch left the game has been on a downward spiral. He agrees himself.

>Nice "updates"
Yeah, it is a fucking update you retard, whether you like it or not.

God I hate NuMinecraft.
>Let's add Fish BECAUSE THAT'S SO FUCKING EPIC!
>Let's add Polar Bears BECAUSE SO FUCKING EPIC!
>Let's add evil villagers because that's SO FUCKING EPIC!
>Let's add Crossbows because SKYRIM WAS SO FUCKING EPIC AND WE WANT TO BE EPIC TOO!
I hope Notch will one day realize his mistake and salvage this mess.

>wurm requires people to enjoy
>literally no one playing

>adding one worthless mob without drops or structure no one is gonna bother to visit is considered updates now
Look at this fucking guy.

>crossbow
>skyrim
Are you retarded? And how can Notch salvage the game if he sold it? Wurmfag please think before posting.

As I said before,
Yeah, it is a fucking update you retard, whether you like it or not.

>>Let's add Polar Bears BECAUSE SO FUCKING EPIC!
This is actually the only real gripe I have on your list, the rest are fine. I know obvious bait and yadda yadda but for fucking real Polar Bears fucking suck. Only worse are the phantoms.

Crossbows are fucking pointless and adding them to any game shows when you're absolutely desperate for weapon ideas. Skyrim is known first and foremost for being so creatively bankrupt and Mojang follows suit.

Contact an admin through gaycord.

But ask yourself what any of those things add to the game. You'll find out that they can only detract from the simple feeling Minecraft Beta had. Microshit is to blame for this fucking mess.

For comparison here is the patch notes for a wurm update.

wurmonline.com/2018/12/17/patch-notes-17-dec-18-gone-fishing/

Attached: 1460211250721.jpg (1920x1080, 419K)

Why are you so autistic?

>add mobs that emulate Huns
>they used crossbows
>WOWWWW Y DEY ADD CROSSBOWS DURRRR

I don't know, why do you enjoy every turd Microsoft and Mojang shit in your mouth?

Crossbows were more common in every other European country besides England in the Medieval period.
They are a good, useful tool that acts a a pre-loaded bow and is more powerful to boot.

Attached: 1489220875988.jpg (667x670, 58K)

Considering the game doesn't have matchmaking, if they game had 100k players, how many of those people would you actually play with? Maybe 100. You fucking zoomers are so stupid. 300 players is more than enough for a healthy playerbase. Just because your favorite twitch streamer doesn't stream it doesn't mean the game doesn't exist.

Attached: 1460007870584.jpg (1920x1080, 394K)

Does the wurmfag get paid to post in minecraft threads? i swear he shits up every single one

I am not going to repeat myself again. Your autismic rage is embarrassing.

Illagers and Pillagers are also fucking pointless additions. They are fucking dumb. Villagers themselves border on being joke additons, but at least they fit the simple feel Minecraft Beta had. Edgelord versions of that do not.

>thirty fucking dollars

Attached: 1536822815911.png (960x960, 548K)

>game doesnt play well singer player
>so play with people
>lol would you even play with these people
What the fuck dude are you retarded? Considering you play Wurm, I'd say yes.

>turd
It's just a weapon, you pathetic sperg. All of your arguments make zero sense and just make you look even more mentally ill than you already were.

My autismic rage? Check out this guy lol. I just want people to play a good game that I like which was developed by the same man who made mineycrafta.

Attached: 1460009646406.jpg (1920x1018, 679K)

Yeah but ask yourself what they add to a simple game like Minecraft. I thought Swords are supposed to be for melee combat and bows for ranged. That system was simple and worked well for Beta, so why add anything to that? That's what I mean. Minecraft wants to be some open world RPG and fails horribly at it, just like Skyrim.

Pointless how? They can raid villages adding incentive to protect and guard them.

What they add is weapon variety, which is much better than using the same two weapons and nothing else.

Why the fuck are you still mentioning Skyrim?
And a game should limit itself to one ranged and melee weapon? Are you retarded? How many weapons does your Wurm have?

It's like I'm in a time portal looking at a game from 2002

They're all forgettable small structures with no bosses or unique items. Everything in the dungeons and structures you can just dig up.

Imagine if minecraft had terraria's content.

Zombies already attack Villagers. That's simple enough. You could cut over half of the mobs in Minecraft and NOTHING would change.

I love big farms.

Attached: 1557938554858.png (2560x1440, 1.23M)

Fish is a mob that should have been implementable years ago and was added in perfectly fine.
Evil villagers are expected and the logical step after regular villagers not to mention the witch had been around for ages anyway.
Crossbow is kinda lame but not unwelcome and gives hope that more weapon types will come soon.
Polar Bears can suck my fucking dick, its a rare mob that only attacks you if you get close to the cubs, drops nothing, and does nothing else. All the fucking basic animal mobs that have been around since the beginning do more shit than the Polar Bears.

I don't know, but hes doing a horrible job if so.
Every time this fag talks about that game he convinces me more and more that I should never play it.

>Wurmfag gets BTFO'd every Minecraft thread he posts his dead game in

>I want less content
What are you even trying to argue here? That you're braindead and overwhelmed by options?

Attached: 1452130014312.gif (500x281, 1.96M)

humblebundle.com/store/wurm-unlimited
You can get it for close to a dollar from key resellers (it was 1 dollar in a humble bundle once)

No I said you would only play with 100 people at most. This isn't fucking overwatch, you aren't going through tons of players and there aren't 10k retards actually hampering your experience. I'd much prefer a smaller playerbase that isn't retarded to the bloated playerbases of these popular games with matchmaking where 90% of people you play with are mouth breathers.
Almost as if the game is from 2006

Attached: f6a947f3787867f833329620fbaeced7a2c1238da3ab54a0eb011f88f0cfc5dc.jpg (1920x1080, 351K)

holy fucking shit, /int/craft 11 I still remember that.
It's been so long and I don't really remember the names of the players or too much of what happened, but we started out as Cascadia and the lads were fucking around with nation leadership and gave it to me as a joke. I then gave it unkowingly to some shitter who logged off immediately after and we had to abandon the whole thing.
I remember following that sticky piston plane to China once it landed. Also remember the rivialry we had with North Korea. I was actually the guy building the underground district of the city before the madmin fucked everything up and ended that iteration. Good times.

gay, but the end result is neat

>bosses
See THAT'S what I mean. Why does Minecraft need bosses? It's a game about building and crafting. That's why the Ender Dragon and Wither are fucking retarded additions. That's why enchanting is retarded. Why potions are retarded. This is not some fantasy garbo like Terraria or Skyrim. This is a simple sandbox game with simple ideas. Notch understood that. That's why the game only had tiny box dungeons with some mundane stuff in them. It's supposed to be that simple.

>overwatch
>large playerbase
he really is retarded

Attached: 1555722336418.png (307x300, 26K)

WHAT RESOURCE PACK SHOULD I GIVE MY SERVER

>skyrim again
Jesus dude.

>That's simple enough.
The point of the game is to be a game, not a simple tech demo. Stop pushing your autistic "simpler is better" narrative, you complete fucking idiot.
A game should have enough content to keep you coming back for more, especially one that's the same genre that Minecraft is. Without that content, you remove most other reasons to play the game outside of building.

>it needs to be played with others
>too many people would ruin it!
What's it like living with stage 3 down syndrome?

disgusting

Did someone say farms?

Attached: 2019-05-07_19.47.24.png (1149x714, 869K)

Imagine shilling a 13 year old dead game and being laughed at every time

I'm building a bigass fort with a tower on the top, but it's a barren pile of stone bricks on the outside. What do I do to decorate it?

Wow I am surprised I didn't expect to get a response of this magnitude of retarded. Imagine terraria if it had as few items and enemies as minecraft.

I actually kinda wanted to play wurm, not anymore

What would you rather have, one mob that does many things or many mobs that do absolutely fucking nothing. Zombies should be the primary thread to villagers, no point in adding another one that fills the same role. Illagers don't even drop anything interesting, it's all shit you can get elsewhere. And don't bring up the totem, that shit is dumb in itself.

explain

It's okay to be autistic. You're not insane, you just need time in your life to figure it out and know what you want. But it's not okay to make a big deal out of something that's going on inside of a person.

People who have autism but don't talk like "that guy" who didn't know. Some people have trouble understanding the difference between a positive attitude and a negative reaction.

I'm just telling you that I understand what it's like to think things that others don't think. It's not an easy thing to see, but people can see it and it's very frightening.

Smelt stone or double smelt stone and use a cutter to make various blocks. I also like sandstone.

not him but looks like an iron farm

Terraria and Minecraft are different. Terraria was never simple. For Minecraft, being simple was always the goal. That was always Notchs intention. Now it's a mediocre RPG.

Id rather imagine the opposite. Imagine how fucking amazing it would be. Too bad the only good updates from now on are gonna be few and far between.

Wait are you telling me you're autistic? Well then I can respect you playing Wurm. Carry on, my autistic friend.

I never said you had to play it with the entire world. You just have to play it with other people. You don't need to play it with 100k people.

If it so dead and irrelevant why do you guys get so absolutely bootyblasted at the mere mention of it lmao

>one mob that does many things
Stop being disingenuous, you autistic fuck. All zombies do is hop up ledges and try to attack you, they can't even jump over one block long gaps. They do fucking nothing besides trying to attack you, same goes for creepers, who run at you and explode, while also doing nothing else.
I'd much rather have more mobs that do a varied amount of shit, instead of one that does one thing and nothing else.

Actually, speaking of /int/craft Japan, I just remembered this war we had helping the Rhodesians in that iteration against Zimbabwe or Mozambique or some shit. It was great.

>For Minecraft, being simple was always the goal.
Now you're lying through your teeth, becoming closer to an RPG is closer to Notch's original vision than whatever your autistic idea of it is.
Minecraft was originally intended to be a 3D version of Dwarf Fortress, don't try to pretend that you somehow didn't know that.

>that horse looking at them like "why the fuck are you playing this? Yikes"

Attached: 1380453629513.jpg (412x398, 59K)

Thank you for understanding. Most people are not like you. People are not made like us. You do not get this, I will tell you what to do. I will tell you what to do. Do not be misled by my words, but to your heart's content do not be discouraged.
On your life path, you have the chance to make the ultimate choice; to go on living. You can choose to continue along your path and, while there are some hardships ahead, the great gift is having enough time to live with God by his own will. You will not fail.

And that's exactly why Minecraft lost its simplistic charm. Monsters were never the focus, they were threats for you to encounter during night and farm resources you can't get elsewhere. Every mob had a drop and a purpose. Now you have shit like Foxes or Pandas. The fuck do they do except offer mundane atmosphere? That's right nothing. Same goes for the Crossbow. If I want to shoot an arrow I'll make a Bow.

Do you even realize how autistic you sound?

Too bad Minecraft sucks at being an RPG and lost everything that made it a good simplistic sandbox game. Guess everyone lost in the end, huh?

>Guess everyone lost in the end, huh?
You're the only one who did, sperg.

Can't handle the truth? There's a severe disconnect between Beta Minecraft and NuMinecraft.

Still a better game than Wurm, not that that is saying much

You lost me with your post but as you said I can't think like you so carry on. If Wurm fag admitted Wurm was for autistic people (maybe you are him) and shilled Wurm he would probably get much less flak.

It is completely fair minded. The game went in a different direction in beta. You're denying an obvious fact that anyone else would be able to accept, so instead of arguing over if the change in direction was good enough, which is the actual relevant and interesting thing to talk about, you are instead sperging out because you perceive a benign observation such as that as an attack. If you like the way the game went then say so, don't act like a pussy.

>coal drops one per block
>can't combine tools in your inventory
>no bonus for combining tools at the new block
>tab no longer closes inventory if it's your key

It's too bad they fucked everything up so hard since some of the new blocks would make nice additions for comfy builds.

I'm tired of being spooked that I'm not creative enough to build something cool. What's the absolute most comfy way to play Minecraft?

I still know every word to Rhodesians Never Die because they played it on repeat so many fucking times using modded music discs

>find a pyramid

Attached: 51761730.jpg (1024x942, 194K)

There's actually a bonus for the Grindstone. 5%. It's so fucking underwhelming I don't blame you for not knowing that.

Poor argument really. Go too far away and your crops won't grow, once fully grown you still have to replant.
In the time it takes to replant you can just sit there harvesting for 2 minutes.

Ignore the other guys, shipwrecks are really nice. On my current save file I've barely done any caving but I'm still doing fine on diamonds because of all the buried treasure.

Wasn't that the same bonus as doing it in your inventory before the update?

Can buried treasure be way depe sometimes? I literally carved out an island and went like ten tiles deep in a 5×5 on the X and no chest

>fantasy garbo
>garbo
>terraria

Attached: 1529983713976.png (885x890, 797K)

That's one thing I'm not a huge fan of, the treasure doesn't spawn in the center of the x.
But it won't be under anything that isn't sand or gravel. If you hit sandstone or whatever then it won't be any lower.

Supposedly it doesn't actually spawn under the x, just south of it

I hate how lighting works in this game. Lighting up massive interiors becomes a pain in the ass and windows barely provide any light too.

>If it so dead and irrelevant why do you guys get so absolutely bootyblasted at the mere mention of it lmao
Because this is not a thread for that game? Why would we not be annoyed with someone trying to disrupt the thread?
Feel free to make a Wurm thread if you want to talk about it (it's not like you'd be pushing a lot of valuable discussion out). Just don't bring it somewhere it's not wanted.

Attached: That Boy Ain't Right.gif (256x192, 1.59M)

You kidding me? That's where I learned the fucking song, it was great.

the chest is usually a little south of the center of the X, if that makes any sense.

Don't really know, might be.

Lighting has been fucked for several updates

Ehh I just wish they updated the current content available and add stuff later. Nether is pointless outside of getting quartz and glowstone, blaze farming, and maybe ghast farming. Pillager raids are boring as hell outside of completing all the vanilla achievements and saving a VERY small handful of villagers. Though would be better if there was a good enough reward (like enchanted items, iron ingots, food, etc.) at the end. Overworld structures like the Desert Temple and the Jungle Temple are too simplistic and devoid of content. And there's a lack of things to do post ender dragon fight. I just want a bit of a challenge or just things to do.

Highly autistic example, but what if in the Desert Temple, you can drop into an underground part where you have to navigate through randomized paths. Each randomized path has a variety of rooms that will have its own set of rewards, traps, and puzzles. The puzzles and traps don't have to be super complex obviously, but it'll give the player a bit of a challenge. Once they get to the end, they're rewarded with some great loot (like diamonds, emeralds, iron, etc.).

I know some people are against the idea of adding more complexity to Minecraft but I just want something to do outside of simple tedious grinding or farming. Sure the simplicity of the game is nice, but there's nothing wrong with adding a *little* complexity to the game.

based chen poster

I'd appreciate more QOL automation changes, like adding a way to break blocks automatically, and filters for hoppers.

Nether and caves have both been neglected. They NEED an update. As for structures, yeah, they should do something like the Village overhaul for all the simplistic strucutures. Dinnerbone actually said he wants to add unique dungeon loot like weapons/armor you can't craft once they have a satisfying combat system... whatever that means.

I agree, there is nothing to do in caves

But I think with Caves Mojang is listening. It's literally the most requested Update. They'll have to do it one day or else there's gonna be some backlash at some point for ignoring the community like that. We may still get that new combat update before that, but I'm certain there'll be a Cave update sometime after that.

>Dinnerbone actually said he wants to add unique dungeon loot like weapons/armor you can't craft once they have a satisfying combat system... whatever that means.
It means that they want to create items / loot that are incredibly valuable to gameplay (like the end's Elytra). Could this possibly be hinting at the inclusion of minibosses?

Also I forgot to mention the current state of caves. Fucking abysmal if you ask me. It would be cool if it included underground environments and better structures. The mines are incredibly boring.

This one is only good for small, vanilla-ish servers, but it's my favorite style of playing the game. I call it the Boer play-style.
Find a savannah village far away from spawn, ideally by the coast or between mountains, slaughter the testificates, and begin your agricultural colony of wheat fields, farms, and fishing. You gotta use the generated structure as your "base" of sorts as you slowly expand outward into wheat fields. As time goes on, you fix up the village, make it more developed and comfy (I usually decorate with jack-o-lanterns and stack my wheat bales and pumpkins in piles to go for a "harvest time" feel for example) and eventually spread out even further.
You can usually mix this up a bit, maybe you also go out exploring for every wood in the game for a comprehensive wood farm or other crops not local, or you treasure hunt on the down-time in shipwrecks and other generated structures.
This play style usually leaves me as the biggest exporter of food stuffs, raw materials, and luxuries on the serb, a well-respected position. It's also fun arpee to be some agricultural colony, like I've built some Colonial Hall with a fancy-ass dome and a comprehensive aquaduct boat highway across the isolated savannah continent I inhabited attracting towns to pop-up along it.

Personally, I like playing it naked-Greek style, never wearing protective armor and wielding only a diamond ax as my weapon. Also never used land protection, but that's never a problem on a comfy minecraft server if you know one.

>your crops are watered by your sewage

I hope. You know what would be cool? Update Caves and Combat at the same time. Imagine you go into a cave and there's a chance to find some really powerful miniboss in a structure that drops something really valuable. That miniboss could also make use of the new combat mechanics, what ever they will be. Also biome specific caves, still baffles me that that isn't a thing yet.

>Plopped a Da Vinci's steering wheel on a floating slime island and made it a flying base
is that from a mod, or is that base-game now?

at this point I'm convinced the majority of minecraft players think mojang can do no wrong

>crops are fertilized by female villagers

Yeah exactly. An update on both caves and combat would go together really well.

literally anything but combat being a minigane would be fine

Nah everyone shitted on 1.9 when it came out. At least from what I've heard from most people.

Was 1.9 the update that horribly broke modding for a while?

You should just be able to delete the JARs

It's literally the most convenient way to browse and install modpacks these days.
Twitch bought the Curse client some time ago.

What the fuck is that to your upper right? It looks humanoid.

An underwater zombie. Have you never seen one before?

what are some comfy vanilla servers?

your game looks extremely good, is it anything but a texture pack and well timed lighting?

I haven't played Minecraft in 4 years. And even then I play older versions where Feed the Beast was the big modpack, I'm out of the loop.

I meant as in inspiration wise

A drowned (basically an Underwater Zombie). They have two versions, one that attacks melee and a ranged one that has a trident (the weapon the user in the pic uses). They have a rare chance to drop said trident if they're holding it and some also hold Nautilus Shells, which are used for a new type of underwater beacon, that they'll drop if they're holding it.

Agreed. They need polar bear drops.

should I play the C++ W10 edition or do I just stay on the Java edition?

it's some shader pack, sildur's vibrant something or other and a texture pack too

getting some hyrule vibes

>Polar Bears now drop shards of Eternal Ice
>Can use it to make something cool, I don't know I'm not a fucking game designer
There you go. Now you have a reason to take on a massive bear, that could easily kill you without good armor, on your own. Like they are just one unique drop away from being good.

Depends.
Do you want to place blocks in plain vanilla?
Go with the Bedrock edition (W10).
Do you want to play with modpacks that add actual features and progression to Minecraft?
Java Edition it is.

If you want better performance, a more bug-free experience and hate attack cooldowns, go for the Bedrock version. If you fucking hate paying for Skins, Mods, Resourcepacks and Maps though, stay on Java.

Listen, they've got paintings that can occupy space on more than one block, how about a polar bear skin rug? Add one for pandas too, pretty sure those worthless fucks just drop bamboo.

Bedrock doesn't even have mods though.
They have "AddOns" that are extremely limited in what they can do.

>the female devs adding slaughter drops for new animals
Lol, you wish

Oh yeah right, completely forgot. If you want mods, go for Java.

They do this dumb shit now where they don't want endangered animals to have worthwhile drops, so you have no reason to kill them. It's so fucking dumb. This is a game. Do they expect kids to go out to their local zoo and try to beat up Polar Bears with a stick or something? They'd kill them before the kid would even have a chance of doing anything.

come to think of it, you're right
>pandas
>polar bears
>foxes
>dolphins (though these are actually useful)
>sea turtles (see above though in a more obtuse way)
all drop jack shit. It's a little surprising that cats were changed to drop string.

GET THE JAVA EDITION YOU FUCKS

I miss it

Attached: Tale-of-Kingdoms.jpg (640x300, 122K)

>Pandas
>Polar Bears
>Dolphins
>Sea Turtles
All endangered. See above. They have this dumb policy where they don't want to have endangered animals be killed, but add them anyway. Like what's even the point, then? This is a fucking game. If I see a Panda you bet your ass I'm gonna try to kill it and see what useful stuff it could give me.

Rugs or Armor that has some special effect, I don't care. If I can breed them I want a reason to do that.

Nice

>murder sea turtles
>realize later you have to breed them for scutes

Attached: b074850f2ab34147621d44cf4f0f3e83.gif (400x500, 1.04M)

Oh since we're discussing drops now, anyone else find the Ravager a bit disappointing? Yeah it's pretty hard to kill without a shield since you can't stun it without one and it deals a fuck ton of damage, it's just disappointing that it can't spawn outside of raids and doesn't have some unique drop outside of saddles. Like what if it could drop its horns or nose and you could make some rare Weapon or Armor out of it? Like then I'd actually want to fight it.

They also wreck blocks like crops. They're disappointing, yeah. It would be cool to be able to forge armor out of them. The game desperately needs armor/weapons made from stuff other than ore and leather.

Like maybe have them drop scutes very rarely, so it's not really encouraged killing them over breeding them, but you can still get scutes without having to breed like a million Turtles and watching them grow.

I once hosted a server, but did it through a server host as I didn't know how to host my own on my pc. Had some players too. Would be nice to play minecraft again but I don't want to do it on any server either.

>can build great structures
>terrible at interior design

Attached: 1514797484671.jpg (394x330, 16K)

as nonsensical as it is to not have them drop the scutes on death, I do think it's interesting to babysit the turtles and I really like the turtle helmet
In addition to cooler drops it'd also be nice if they were tamable, I'd love to plow through a forest on one of those things.

I feel like they are holding a lot of new mobs and items that they intend to add after minecraft dungeons get released

It would be cool if there was more Illager structures. They are clearly a prevelant force in the world, so only having outposts and mansions is weird. It would be cool if there was some giant dungeon relating to them. In there Ravagers (with new drops you can make armor and a weapon out of) and the like could spawn, maybe even some new ones. Minecraft Dungeons is a thing now and there the final boss is called the "Arch-Illager". Why not add him as an actual boss in the main game? Like we know nothing about him for now, but he seems like something that could easily be imported to the main game.

Man what if Ravagers were like some cursed kind of beast? Like maybe Illagers used some Frankenstein magic on it to give it an Illager head. What if there was some way to "cure" Ravagers and get a weaker, rideable version with its actual head? Like it could have 50 health instead of 100, but still have the ability to plow through leaves and a strong knockback resistance.

using heads as decoration is really good
too bad the only ones you can get in vanilla are mob heads, and they are also hard as fuck to get

If you wanna play a nomad, do superflat or floating islands as you'll NEED to become a travelling merchant and trade with villages as mining becomes incredibly inefficient due to no longer having caves or ores and many resources are only available in villages. It's actually incredibly fun once you know what you're doing.

I hope so, user. In the dungeons trailer there was a giant rock and crystal golem, like it would be so fucking cool to run into something like that in the main game as a mini-boss or just stronger mob overall.

Hey anons
Later i plan on building a Yea Forums themed map.
What should i put inside?

>creeper blew up a double chest with good items in it
>try to replace it and put everything back
>another creeper comes and blows it up
>try again
>another one
>finally let out a sigh of relief after repairing it for the third time
>I hear a fuse sound
Gotta say, that was the first time these green fucks made me legitimately angry.

>tfw just got a skeleton and creeper head from the same explosion in my new world
tridents are based. Why don't more people use them to charge creepers then minecart wither skeletons over to them to farm their skulls?

should I start playing minecraft again? I easily put 400 more hours into it around new years.

Attached: 2019-02-17_16.54.01.png (1920x1080, 929K)

Shit

They're too rare for me to ever have gotten one in survival. Not only that but you can only repair them with Mending or with another Trident. Maybe if I get Looting III somehow I'll try to farm one. I do have a Channeling book, so Lightning shouldn't be the problem.

Illager towns would be kind of cool and they're all hostile towards you, with Ravagers patrolling the city

C*nny

actually that's a good point, tridents have made getting heads easier
still pretty stupid you cant get most mob heads or custom ones

Attached: 2019-02-01_00.51.00.png (1920x1080, 1.21M)

I got lucky and spawned on a little archipelago in a huge sea, so I'm swimming in tridents.
Not sure if you can get mending books from villagers now that they've revamped trading (if you can, delete pretty much every workstation and replace them with podiums, they'll swap to the new job). I got mine from fishing. No idea what the odds are.

pack/mods?

Yeah that would be neat. They'd also be built out of dark oak, it's kind of a staple for Illagers so that's pretty obvious. Maybe they have some rare items in there. I'd also like if you could somehow get to the secret of their sorcery. Like they are able to summon spirits to fight for them, summon fangs to attack you and the unused Illusioner even knows how to blind you and create illusions of itself. Would be pretty cool if you could get their spells as lategame stuff.

I slapped all my own mods together with MultiMC and it's been months since I played but I can still list some if you want

i wish i was autistic enough to play these modpacks
that looks uber comfy

Did you guys know that if you use a bow enchanted with punch to shoot lit TNT it will go insanely far?
You can use this to make a (somewhat accurate) TNT cannon in seconds

muskets. We already have gunpowder and iron nuggets.

Guess you learn something new every day. Gotta try that, sounds hilarious.

Not my creation, but I downloaded some mods and a city map and SEUS and boy does it look pretty.

Go for it

I know, I do too.

How do you guys still play this shit? Seriously, I'm not even trying to baitpost here.

The survival aspects are piss-easy, worldgen stopped making interesting things to explore long before the game released. The building is okay and it's sometimes fun to make something neat or challenging, but at the end of the day you're sitting in the sandbox with your little castle and nothing to do with it. The gameplay doesn't require any of it, and the only joy you'll get out of it aside from looking at it yourself is having a friend come stare at it for a minute too. These are the same complaints I have about Space Engineers and all of the other buildathon-survival-exploration games. I want to enjoy these games but I just can't, it all feels so pointless.

I'll try it, though Trident Drowned are hard hitting and hard to reach without good armor. And yeah you can still get Mending from Villagers, it's just pretty rare.

I feel tired of the game sometimes, but this game and maybe terraria are the only games I can come back after many months of not playing.

Is it worth buying this shit again if I can't for the life of me remember my information in order to migrate my decade old information to a mojang account?

Mods.
Tons of mods.

I stopped playing vanilla years ago.

Attached: 1554603281360.png (1200x1600, 2.19M)

I always come back after updates, play them for as long as I'm having fun with them, mostly like 3-5 months depending on how much content is added and then I have a little break. Yeah Terraria and Minecraft are the only games that have the same effect on me aswell.

do u guys do shit in vanilla when building this big ass shit

I can understand Terraria because it has compelling gameplay with a fuckton of replayability on top of satisfying building, but for me Minecraft doesn't offer the same sense of exploration, danger, and purpose.
I can somewhat buy this argument since I've seen some pretty complicated Minecraft mods floating around, but I haven't seen any that add true purpose to construction. Some gate progression behind construction sure, but there's never any incentive to do more than the bare minimum to keep creepers out. Defense is trivial, efficient planning is often rather pointless, and aesthetics will be appreciated by you alone.

I want a game with alpha Minecraft/Terraria's exploration, Factorio-tier logistics, and scaling threats that necessitate constant iteration and improvement to defend your constructs from hostile weather or creatures. Is there a game like this?

what

like creative mode

I remember long ago there was a YouTube channel doing reviews for Minecraft mods in under 30 seconds or something. Can't find it now, I wonder if it's still up.

Same as the other user, mods. I'll mess around on the new updates for a while, but when I get the itch to play I will get a large assortment of mods for whatever version has the most good ones out for it (right now 1.12) and play that. It's fun while it lasts but I always end up getting bored eventually. I'm going to miss thaumcraft if that is truly over.
I'll never get people who only use mod packs, assembling the mods I want to use in the game is half the fun for me.

I don't play vanilla anymore, but I have a certain itch for modded minecraft that I fulfill every year or so in a big binge. The mods are usually updated enough to keep it fresh for another playthrough.

Probably not unless some friends are already asking you to play, singleplayer gets lonely fast.

>Underwater base
Nice, always my favorite thing to make, the aquatic update was a fucking godsend because of it, watching the fish is so soothing to me, like a personal aquarium.

Most big modpacks motivate the play by allowing them to slowly become godlike while progressing through the different mods.
It's all about complex automation and the attainment of powerful items.

I know this is gonna seem irrelevant but one thing I thought was interesting during pre-beta Minecraft is the idea of adding seasons into the game. It would've been nice (in terms of survival) where weather would fuck up your crops or live stock becomes subjected to dying easily. Though I do agree with you, Minecraft needs more depth to it considering how barren some of the content is. It's essentially what I said way earlier in the thread (specifically here ). I'd suggest finding a forge mod that fills in the gaps of Minecraft like Millenaire to fit your tastes.

That has always been an actual dream of mine. It's would be pretty fucking scary to live in a house like that, especially because I have a fear of drowning, but that soothing atmosphere would be worth it. Now I have a sudden urge to farm together a conduit and some prismarine and just build an underwater base.

Thanks for the answers guys. I've tried using various mods with a few friends over the years but it just never clicks with me like it does them. Sounds like my guilty-pleasure Skyrim addiction. I've always been a Morrobaby but for some reason I can't explain I get drawn to Skyrim once every spring and mod the shit out of it only to play it for a few weeks at best.

That was one of the first things I did. Building a cube of glass in the ocean, filling it with sand, digging out the sand, then discovering I could farm underwater.

Yeah I've also got the same fear of the ocean, it's like a particularly shitty form of dissonance for me since I love swimming and underwater life but the ocean and large bodies of water scare the shit out of me.
Onky way I can really enjoy it as much as I'd want to is through vidya, Animal Crossing was pretty good at it for me through the aquarium.
Assuming you're the same user who posted the images, what texture pack are you using, it's the first I've seen that I like in a while

we're playing it right now and beating the dogshit out of 8ch

There is a game something like this, I can't remember the name but I will post it if I can

how do you guys make these huge structures and buildings and stuff? i get major OCD whenever my buildings are too big and all of my stuff is too spread out. took me 2 days to think of a proper build in this screenshot and it turned out pretty nice

Attached: 2019-05-15_22.02.03.png (1920x1057, 2.56M)

It's considered one of the greatest games of all time for a reason.
Might not be as impactful now that you aren't a kid with a community of friends though.
10 years of incredibly active modding has given the game unlimited replay value. Check out Tekkit or Better Than Wolves.

>how do you guys make these huge structures and buildings and stuff?
Autism. That and a lot of free time scaled over several days.

I'd appreciate it if you could find one, I've tried so many games looking for that itch and none have come close.

Sounds comfy.
Update Aquatic was one of the first updates I've fully enjoyed in a while, same for Village and Pillage. Sure some stuff needs refinement but I love the overall features at hand here.
Sorry, wasn't me. Don't know what Pack that is either. Hopefully the user is around and can answer your question.

I remember it: Dig or Die. Look it up on Steam

haha yeah user I've only been streaming a little over a month and I see a decent amount of follower and sub growth every week, made 100 fun bucks in bits and subs so far

I'm currently building a semi-automated spleef arena with the boys.

WIP automated farm tower

Attached: 1528632240923.png (1920x1017, 1.66M)

well i do also have shit load of free time its just that making huge structures bothers me because i usually play in survival mode and if i ever go into creative mode i feel guilty and completely restart my world. also this is the inside of my base

Attached: 2019-05-16_23.42.34.png (1920x1057, 841K)

Looks good. Nice use of lanterns. Don't need to always build giant structures for something to look good.

Your posting "mannerism" reminds me a lot of that swolenbenji tripfag

The only thing swollen is my hard cock, user.

mine too, brother

>observer observing button-powered redstone dust to click twice
I never thought of that, absolutely going to keep that in mind.

I decided to make a modpack a while back with 5 mods just to add some QOL changes and more options for building.
It's now at 99 enabled mods and I've still got more I want to test out before adding them and playing.
