Because for one it gave generation a way too clear cut mechanical benefits, especially 7th generation which was the highest one that can get 6 dots in stats and discplines.
In addition considering that generations like that and lower were never meant for players made elder disciplines with 6-9 dots into something only good for flavor, npcs or minmaxers with a diablerie addiction.
I much prefer the way that Blood Potency that scales with age and generation gives additional dice for blood buff or discipline powers while the current Discipline "trees" allow for significantly more powerful abilities.
Obviously excluding Celerity which was completly reworked and nerfed for a gameplay reasons

Almost done with a run through of The Final Nights in VTMB, got another with Clan Quest Mod going. I think I like the original clans more, but TFN has some good features too, like even the starter pistol doing pretty good damage. I don't mind the blood drain either, it's nice to have more of a need to feed in hubs.

I've been playing some Antitibru as well, but I think it's the least updated of the three at this point.
