Secondly, the future of gaming is streaming services and dockable devices. The success of the Switch is proof that gamers want something different. They want convenience.

Microsoft have been quietly laying the ground work for streaming sevices for years. Microsoft and Google will duke it out for top dog.

Nintendo have hinted that they will give up on hardware too. If Nintendo offered a streaming sevice, people would flock to it for their exclusives. People would flock to it for Pokemon alone.

Where does that leave Sony? They've proven they can't innovate or adapt and their exclusives aren't enough to sway consumers. They'll struggle the most to adapt to the future. Its no surpise Sony want to get in bed with a rival.
