Speaking of cult, new vg cult is cancer. Uncurable conversions so its DM. Convert through loyalty no issue. Can channel dead cult into swords for free soulstones, then put those in artifacts for buffed constructs, despite constructs already being too good.

I play on Fulpstation and I find that despite having to deal with people who are pretty bad at their job, it's not so bad. I find that new players can in some ways make rounds more interesting, just because they react with actual fear of the unknown when the Captain announces something like, "There's a wizard on board, all crew be alert." They haven't "game-ified" the game as much as a veteran player. More than that, fresh blood is important to keep a game going. Space Station 13 as a community values it's gatekeeping but the implicaiton of gatekeeping is that you let some, but not all people through the gate. Waves of new players are annoying, but they subside, and the population influx keeps servers alive.

Overall these floods are a net positive, though I concede it's hard to see that when a non-antag assistant is bashing your head in with a crowbar for no reason.

the fact that people have static names has both positives and cons to it imo
it's nice seeing someone's name and knowing that they're a cool competent guy who won't dick you over without a good reason
on the other hand you'll also often see people of which you know they're retarded megalomaniacs and you should avoid at all costs
it's hard not to metagame to a certain degree if you already know in advance that someone will behave in a certain way

/vg/ codebase is a shitshow nowadays. They're following the horrible patreon ero-game mindset of "updates" that remove game content with the flimsy guise of a rework. Why not just leave the old stuff in until you finish the rework? SS13 isn't some super competitive fighting game, it's a roleplaying game running on BYOND. Who cares if something is overpowered. But even using game balance as an excuse, so many things on /vg/ are broken. Cultists got reworked and basically never lose. Ninjas got reworked and basically never win. Blobs have been stupidly overpowered for years. They took out tajarans on the pretense of them being furry ERP magnets. They're right, but then they turn around and implement Vox, which are furry ERP magnets as evidenced by the thread itself.

It's such a confused server, and then they have the nerve to claim that they're better than every other station.

cultists actually have the lowest winrate of any antag in the game post-rework. despite literally being better undetectable once they reach stage 2 vampires with 0 cooldown stockable parapens and free conversions that bypass loyalty the moment the game starts
