my hype is officially gone now. the only truly 10/10 game on that list is Phantasy Star IV and really welcomed. voctorman is nice and so is beyond oasis. alien solider still missing, still no Chakan or Gynoug. no panorama cotton, no Alisia Dragoon, no Quack Shot, no Thunder Force IV. But hooray we get trash like Altered Beast and Golden Axe

Steam release was back in 2011. For some reason SEGA has suddenly gotten very scared of touching it in only the past 5 years.

it is complicated, specially when the composer was no other than MICHAEL JACKSON.

he didnt put his name in the credits due to that he wasnt 100% satisfied with the quality of his work, but officially, the Jackson state has the rights to certain key songs of the game, namely:

>Knuckles original theme
>Mini bosses original theme
>Carnival night zone
>Launch base zone
>Credits.

among others.

this is why the original win 95 pc version of S3K had different songs for those stages, and why there hasnt been a taxman remake for so long.

technically, theres a loophole: as long as the original game/rom is used, you can still distribute the game without paying copyrights, explaining them still making the game available up to the Ps3/x360 era, but who knows how things are now, considering the game is not available in the newest genesis classics collection.

The rights for the music in the second half of 3 are in limbo. As long as the game is emulated and not ported (like the Taxman versions of 1/2/CD) they’re fine however.
