Fuck no

absolutely not

If you ignore all the story shit and just play it like a series of unconnected MGS missions, it's GOAT

The story is so fucktarded and annoying that it brings down the whole package though. Holy shit, the tutorial mission is bad.

Yes. It has the best controls and gameplay I've ever experienced, (finally) surpassing Mario 64.

No, not at all
>you were Venom Snake all along OMG

I never really cared about the story of MGS so I didn't really care about the unfinished one in 5.

The gameplay was extremely fun with some incredibly tight controls and high level of polish. A deserved score in my opinion.

pretty sure it was that buck-toothed faggot greg miller or whatever his name is who gave it a ten

people are stupid as fuck and dont understand how mgsv story is constructed, idiots like this actually believe that ishmael was big boss.

It's not just the story m8.

this. probably the same retards who think pliskin is snake

Hell no, not even the gameplay saves it, thanks to the sparse environments.

On the scale of modern reviews?
Yes. If trash like The Last of Us or MGS4 get scores of 10/10s, MGSV absolutely deserves a 10, especially since it's better than most games who get a 10 nowadays.

what it is then.

Yes, and there are a few others which deserve 10/10 that didn't get it. I make sure to get every game that ever got a perfect score from a major reviewer. RDR2, RE7, The Witcher 3, and others. They offer unique experiences , as does MGS5. It's one of the greatest games ever made, but MGS3 is a better 10/10.

>ground zeroes has worse score
How?

>MGSV doesn't just respect my intelligence as a player, it expects it of me, putting it in a league that few others occupy.
LOL this fucking guy man, the game is baby tier when it comes to difficulty and the writing was fucking terrible compared to the previous entries. Not to mention the fact that the game was obviously unfinished.

You can't select 'hard' or 'normal' like in GZ, you're just forced to replay a few missions on hard just because.
No memorable boss fights.
This last one is completely subjective, but the maps were fucking boring.

Because it's a paid 30 minute demo, you absolute retard.

>biggest story letdown in the history of video games
>extremely laughable boss fights
>wallhax
>dumb ai
>no one ever gave a shit about the online FOB missions
>repeated main missions (like wtf)
>repetitive side missions
>extraction simulator out the ass
>too many guns, not enough differences
>open world that has nothing to discover but diamonds
>no secrets at all
>numbered missions so the secrets missions are not secrets
>companions make it too casual, d horse is based though
>just shoot Sahelanthropus bro, no puzzle elements, just shoot it
>most boring set of characters in the series
>ruined Ocelot
>most boring protagonist in the series
>Quiet breathing though her skin????.?.

>No memorable boss fights.
youtu.be/0xeGE_5kSI0

>you're just forced to replay a few missions on hard just because
You're not forced, they're optional.
>no memorable boss fights
Quiet, Eli, Sahelanthropus...

Did you play the game? Opinions are one thing, but half of your statements about content in game are simply wrong.

It is still far better. Better pacing, map isn't just empty and well designed, more gameplay mechanics than full game (tapes, cameras), better side ops

?

The full game had tapes and cameras, the game was so piss easy that they never mattered though so barely anyone ever used them more than once.

No it's fucking not. It doesn't have a fraction of the content TPP has.
It's literally one fucking mission. There's no pacing to talk about, you fucking retard.
Map isn't empty because it's literally a TPP base cut off from the open world. It's no better or worse than stuff like Mfinda Oilfield, OKB Zero or Nova Braga Airport.
>tapes, cameras
Both in TPP.
>better side ops
They classified the side ops in TPP as main ops for some reason. What do you think the filler missions are?

>wallhax
Third person games allow you to look around walls
>no secrets
Surely you have all collectables. Every song and poster. Completed the zoo. You have heard all the unique dialogue. None of it was secret, after all. Everything was right there for you, and it took no effoet to get, of course.
>open world that has nothing to discover
See above.

Don't forget the mood and story of ground zeroes that set such good expectations. So dark and gritty.
Fuck kojima.

In GZ tapes were used as gameplay element. You could use it to find Paz. In PP it's just for story elements

Enemies are literally marked on your hud
None of the collectibles are worth shit. They don't unlock any secrets or additional story.

the game turns great immediately after you turn the bullet time off.

As a whole no. But the middle section of this game just doing missions is perfect.

Are you so braindead that you cannot go into the options menu and turn them off?

MGSV is literally BoTW.

>fantastic new engine with insane intractability allowing for "cuhraaaaazy" gameplay interactions
>everything else is an absolute embarrassment (bland and boring open world, MMO grindy side missions/quests, shit tier boss battles, non existent story)
>more of a tech demo than actual game
>universally gets 10/10 scores across the board on Name power alone

You literally cannot prove me wrong

>non existent story
Memes aren't arguments.

>no one ever gave a shit about the online FOB missions
A huge loss on their part. High end FOBs were pretty much the best post game content you could ask for.

It hardly passed a fucking 5, dude.

You could use the tapes to manipulate guards and wild animals but a smooth brain like you probably never figured it out.

Not for me personally, it's an 8-9/10
But for IGN standards, that's easily 10/10 to be honest.

It's way too fucking overpriced, even though it's very good.

You are forced if you want to "beat" the game

All those 3 boss fights are lame as fuck.

No you are not. Stop spreading misinformation.
>lame as fuck
Nice opinion.

>notes a distinct negative with the game and even says that it will divide series fans
>10/10

Quiet is pretty much the End but better in every way.

Even more boring sandbox than Just Cause. In addition the game was unplayable without controller, so I refunded it.

>You are forced if you want to "beat" the game
???
Those are literally all optional, I didn't bother with them at all until after getting the true ending.

>you're just forced to replay a few missions on hard just because.
you are forced to play them because of the story, this is one thing so few understand, game is full of pseudo historical events and shit that never really happaned and shit that happens many times,

I know you're being sarcastic but you're actually right. None of it did take any effort to get and no, time investment isn't really the same as effort. Completing the zoo and collecting the tape and posters were all braindead activities. None of it was really well hidden outside of the rare animals but even then most of them were cage captures which means it was just you brainlessly putting down traps and then extracting until you got what you needed. Sorry dude but the collectables were the weakest part of the game and didn't even grant anything of worth when you were done with them.

You're not forced to replay anything at all, doing side ops instead will also advance time and get you the Quiet mission and the ending.

MGSV doesn't deserve a 10/10 score but I can't really hold it against reviewers because it only gets bad about 30 hours in. You need to play a LOT of it before it becomes apparent that it's blatantly unfinished. The first third of the game (which all these review sites played) is 10/10 material.

fpbp

Yes, 10/10 doesn't mean perfect.
It means a game is extremely good and whatever negatives it may have pale in comparison with the positives.

>but I can't really hold it against reviewers because it only gets bad about 30 hours in. You need to play a LOT of it before it becomes apparent that it's blatantly unfinished. The first third of the game (which all these review sites played) is 10/10 material.
Literally all false.

Audio logs don't count as story.

>There's something negative about X
>But X is perfect

Gaming """journalists""" should be lined up and shot with a 20 mm Twin Anti-Aircraft Cannon

Attached: miserable.jpg (1135x941, 332K)

Why? Because you arbitrarily decided they don't?

No, for a Metal Gear it was a 7/10 at best and 5/10 at worst. Mainly cause of the second half of the game, weak story and an overall lackluster openworld.

Not really, more like 8/10

Once again, opinions are opinions. But shit secrets is not "no secrets".

It did. It is a fantastic game, but people here focus on too much what the game isn't instead of what it is.

Yes, and it could be 20/10 if the game was fully developed up to chapter 5.

Because audio logs is just about the laziest way of delivering story in a video game. They're fine when they complement the actual story, not when they're the main fucking thing.

True. The game does the GAME part of the 'video game' really well but Yea Forums just cries about muh story. Fucking board is full of sonybros.

Still counts as story. Wether you like the way it was delivered or not is a different argument altogether.

I wouldn't say TPP isn't dark. It does a pretty good job of just making you feel pretty fucking hollow, for as much as I hate the game it really did feel like a complete subversion of what mgs is in every capacity, for better or worse

Most of the missions were boring. Other than a 3 or so fairly well developed bases, the rest were mediocre...and the well developed ones still didn't come close to the GZ map.

the secound half got much more story than the muh movie first half, all the tapes are on secound half
