It goes on sale all the time and I think it was in a bundle with 2 for pretty cheap. I think it's fine.

You'll need a guide to play it.

that's my challenge, I want to try it without one. I want to actually think again in a game

It's not thinking.
It's 2D Hexen - push a switch then go through all the discovered levels to see what changed.

pirate.

why are there so many normalfags and moralfags here? I guess everyone did just grow up and stop using Yea Forums.

Some passages are just stupid without a guide.
Don't use the guide when you can solve a puzzle through thinking, but when you feel like you have no options, use one, and you'll understand that a good chunk of the game is just needlessly tedious without a guide.

Still one of my favourite games

yes, that was my actual intention. I was just thinking if I actually wanted to support the devs for a possible nice game or if I just don't give a fuck and just pirate it.
I'm neither normal nor moral and I'm trapped here like everyone else

Its easier to dish 2 bucks on steam than go through VPN, private tracker and then hope some seeders are seeding literally who: the game.

As the clever man said: piracy is problem of the service.

I tired that. I got really far without a guide, but it did get to the point where the clues became so obscure I was checking every single pixel on the map and had to use a guide. Also there are permanently missable items, which I unfortunately missed because I didn't have a guide. I ended up dropping it since the game was so tedious.

It's crazy difficult. Buy on a deep sale or just pirate the GOG version in 0.1 sec on Google if you're curious.

good, the game isn't worth playing if you just follow instructions like a bitch
bitches

>muh torrent autism
Here it is on fucking zippyshare, only 200MB which you can download in under a minute:

lrn2pirate

ignore the guide retards.
all you need is notepad, brain + eyes, and the ability to manage your notes.
using a guide leads you on a downward spiral of repeated use, while avoiding it gives you the knowledge and power to conquer it on your own.
good luck.

Yeah but you lurked the threads and other people told you what to do. You're the worst kind that pretends he figured it all out by himself, but was spoonfed by anons.

I love la mulana, but sometimes it's stupidly obtuse.

La-Mulana is one of those games that I know I'll never want to play, even for free. Fucking disgusting design philosophy.

You have to go back.

yes

Seed the wad pack for doom over on /vr/ while you're at it?

except there are no permanently missable items

>not playing the vastly superior game

Attached: freedom.jpg (1920x1080, 516K)

yeah, seems worth it

la mulana 2 hasn't been on a sale for more than 20% off yet

I bought it for $5 6 years ago though.

muh artwork

Attached: fake1.jpg (1920x1080, 428K)

yeah, buy it. the dev is a simple man without much money

Chain whip.

you can reset the puzzle later in the game
or just reload your save

And it's people like you that give me a raging hard on for these types of esoteric puzzle games. I'm average intelligence, but beating games like la mulana give me a feeling of superiority to the npcs that cant think for themselves.

That game doubled down in the bullshit.

By this logic, any game is resetable.

I spend 30 minutes breaking my index finger trying to wall jump to get to the room where the weapon was (I'm talking about the original game, not the console remake)

Or you could try to apply that middling intelligence to something actually productive.

on steam? no
Gog or the free version, yes

OH NO

This is true. The game is like an investigation and you need to be diligent in taking notes and screenshots. Color code information so you can find it again.

Look, I'm a fan of hard puzzles, remembering the dance of life after 5 hours of gameplay is great.
Entering inside a jar like fucking SuperMario when that is not a mechanic of the game or hearing you did something and having to look for an obscure background detail to advance the game is fucking bullshit.

There is a puzzle where you need to pause the game and leave it there for like a minute, if you never paused and didn't know the little guy falls sleep after a while you would get stuck. Dare to tell me that is not shit game design.

Does it change anything besides graphics and music from the free version? I think I recall someone complaining that it made something worse but can't remember what.

Some puzzles are more straight forward, but the bosses are harder and more annoying to kill.

I would also argue that there is a SoulvsSouless discussion here, the original was a love letter to MSX games cryptic puzzles included, the remake tries to have gorgeous backgrounds with chibi characters that don't blend well with each other and sometimes is hard to tell what is background and what is important.
