Realistically what would Nintendo have to do, in order to recapture their glory days?
Realistically what would Nintendo have to do, in order to recapture their glory days?
Invent a time machine.
They need a tinge of edge back, not over the top edgy but just enough to make their games have some attitude again. The new smash games are a great example, 64 and Melee were based as fuck, while Smash 4 and Ultimate are for faggots.
For Zelda?
>bring Yoshiaki Koizumi on as lead director
For the company as a whole?
>Miyamoto is a legend and should be held in respect... but from my limited perspective on things, he should retire.
In the world today?
A tinge of edge causes literal riots these days.
They would need to come up with a new IP that can be unexpectedly good like Smash Bros, Paper Mario, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, etc
just to elaborate. Yoshiaki Koizumi was one of the lead artists for ALttP, and was a director for the OoT/MM days. That time frame is when the series gained its reputation. Yes the first Zelda set the stage for everything to come... but most of what we remember is from the 64 days (WW if you're a zoomer punk). WW ya sure, wasn't bad... but TP broke even and SS was trash. The dude is the heart and soul of the series.
Because that worked so well for Twilight Princess.
Literally all they have to do is follow these steps
> 1. Buy Mistwalker
> 2. Buy Square Enix
> 3. Disband Square Enix
> 4. Give Final Fantasy & Dragon Quest to Mistwalker
> 5. Buy Platinum games
> 6. More Frequent Nintendo directs
> 7. Hire Yoko Taro & assign him to Monolith Software
> 8. Buy The Pokemon Company
> 9. Have Monolith & GameFreak Co-Develop all Pokemon games
> 10. Bring back Eternal Darkness
> 11. Have Nu-Monolith & Mistwalker make a new Chrono game
Remove all third party characters.
>Duke it out as your favorite Nintendo characters.
The fans don't even seem to know Smash Bros is about Nintendo characters.
Make new IP that isn't a dumb gimmick.
Making new stuff and taking risks is what once made them so great. They did it before, they could do it again, but they won't because monetarily there is no reason for them to make such a move.
Stupid motherfucker, in the corner.
Actual solution: Do what they did in the 90's: make teams compete with one another with a low-scale budget and experiment more. You'd never get Wario Land, Panel de Pon or even DKC from Nintendo today. Splatoon is in the right direction and by far the closest thing I've seen to 90's Nintendo.
start taking more risks, a lot of the flagship series have become more stagnated as of late and i feel a good shakeup is overdue
reboot some old obscure IP's like mach rider or ice climbers, make up some new ones that hopefully land closer to splatoon than ARMS in terms of success, get more loose with established ones like mario and definitely pokemon, and in spite me asking for new shit bring back the classics that people haven't seen in goddamned years like f-zero or mother and give them a grand comeback-level new game
i know that they're doing what the tried and true money makers are but im sure they have enough excess money to start whipping out some more stranger products
i still enjoy what they make but i would like them to go back to their odder and edgier ventures
>have Monolith and GameFreak Co-Develop all Pokemon games
or better yet kill Gamefreak and let Monolith make Pokemon
Game Freak designs the cutest girls, so they can stay
No more stupid fucking 3rd party characters. Snake and Sonic had soul in them, but after that it turned to shit.
make normal consoles that are easy for third parties to support. cut all the bullshit like lagging ten years behind the rest of the industry on hardware, insisting on proprietary storage mediums, etc.
bring back their old, neglected franchises and make worthwhile new ones. stop coasting on rehashes/ports of the same handful of ip's.
step out of their comfort zone and make some games for older audiences, like they tried to do with eternal darkness and geist.
stop letting miyamoto meddle into every mario game with his obnoxious crusade against lore, creativity and soul. a character like culex would never be allowed in a nu-mario game, and that's pretty sad.
these
is this the contrarian thread
> 2. Buy Square Enix
> 3. Disband Square Enix
This is literally the most stupid i have seen in Yea Forums for a while
Nothing cause everyone on here has a different idea of what would be a true recapturing of the "glory days"
this is the same autistic listfag who keeps spamming kos-mos in smash roster threads, kept spamming his list of "proof" that p5r had a femc and was getting a switch port, etc. stupidity is pretty standard with that guy.
Actually they need to do something really new or successfully restore what is dead/dying. Make a revolution. Make something really big. But they need to take a risk.
Nintendo basically needs to do something as big NES (of course I mean something what will have that same big impact in history of gaming).
One of my bets is revive VR gaming
promoting vr is hardly "revolutionary" when sony and valve are already doing the exact same thing.
I don't talk about promoting.
I talk about EVOLVE THAT SHIT TO THE NEXT LEVEL.
If Nintendo will manage to make VR so realistically that will not only affect your senses of sight and hearing but also it can affect your senses of smell and touch, they gonna literally sweep the entire competition in VR.
stop its own fans from killing fun
Details.
>and was a director for the OoT
No, just MM.
They should buy some Konami propierties like Castlevania, Silent Hill and Metal Gear too. Konami doesnt care about them anymore, they make a shit ton of money with pro evolution and Yu Gi Oh
I don't know who, but somebody in charge is stupid.
>give a new ip a chance
>splatoon explodes in popularity
>ah, people want new
>let's rework old franchises
It's retarded that the take away wasn't to let new blood try new things.
