Yeah I only ever use the touchpad! Hmm, let me think, well the most basic advice I can give is don't draw by dragging your finger, place dots, like constellations or connect the dots and it will fill in for you. This will help you make platforms that aren't a disaster to walk in or have you always colliding into things when running on it. You should also know that you can move objects between layers by selecting them, holding L / R and then touching the directional pad. This can be really helpful for stages with lots of decorations and complex objects in them. Also if you want to make an object with lots of detail in it, it's probably best to draw it very large then shrink it down once you're done. One last thing I can think of, if you aren't aware of how the weight limit works yet, it's based off the amount of polygons and objects, so basically avoid ever using the circles unless you really feel you need it since that has more sides than any object you could draw yourself thus takes up tons of weight

Oh wow you're that guy!!! I love that Sea of Eden stage and the End of Time sooo much. You make really good stages. It's funny how you and I both made Mt Itoi but had completely different ways of making the actual layout, the actual mountain itself isn't even an object you can stand on in mine. I love that about Stage Builder, even when people make the same location they make totally different takes on it

Working on a Tarrey Town stage. Can't think of a good layout or how to make things look good so I'm just fucking around at this point. There's gonna be buildings on rails in the background that show up after some time so the town grows in size

Good concept, I love Tarrey Town to death, but I can see the creative conflict you're probably having by wanting it to look nice while also wanting it to slowly develop into something nice as the battle goes on, and all this while adhering to an object limit. Not having the stage be completely flat helps to add some personality, that's what I usually do for my stages. You could also make some shrubbery or something on the foreground layer. By the way, just curious, what music are you using for it?

Thanks man! A Minish Cap stage has been on my mind the day Stage Builder dropped but I just couldn't get it to look good til now, I rarely make Big sized stages anymore but it really worked with this one to make you feel tiny

I downloaded that Regice earlier by the way and it's even better in motion, the gods are pleased

I suggested it yesterday but I think the Stage layout would be a bit interesting if you had it have a walk-off on on side that is like the arched land-bridge that you cross to get into Tarrey Town

I might try out a different terrain but it might add on to the limit. Right now I'm settling on 7pm/Main Street any better suggestions?

It's nice to get the opportunity to use new terrain for the game but sometimes I like to experiment. It's like this with the first game I played, it was kind of difficult at first. I tried to make it feel alive even though I couldn't understand what it actually was going to be about. It all just kinda came out of my brain. Here's how I do it as well - the terrain is the first thing I do after starting the game so it's pretty easy on my little brain too. I can't explain it exactly without a few pictures though because obviously there are a LOT of pictures. It's a weird thing but it works out really well for me so I tried it anyway. It's pretty fun. I might try out a different terrain but it might add on to the limit. Right now I'm settling on 7pm/Main Street any better suggestions?
Moreover, what if we had another terrain with 6 different types and 3 different locations? For example "Kindergard" has 2.5 zones and 2 "Pondage" has 3 zones, and "Stonewalling" has 5 zones. Then we'd want 7 zones of 4 different types and 2 of 4 different locations. So we'd need 3 different types, 2 of each of the types and 2 of the locations. And with 4 different types, 3 of 3 types and 2 of 5 situations, then we'd have about 8 more types. At this point, I'm really happy to just stick with the basic 6 types and 2 location types, and not worry about the 4 different types of the three others plus 3 locations. It might add up to 12 (with 4 of the 6 types including 6 locations).
As for the terrain type, we can use "Normal", "Highlands" or "Lava" depending on one's taste. For example I love "Lava"
