Any WMR set, the Rift S, and the upcoming Vive Cosmos. None of them require it

The Japanese clean themselves with soap and rags outside the tub, and only get into the water to soak and relax after they're done. There's no point in bathing in a pool of your own dirty water.

Depends on the house/bathroom. A lot of the time though, no, because they take up a lot of space and water. Just use one of those little stools, a couple of rags, and only the water you need to get clean. Some younger people are even giving up on soaking after, though it's generally regarded as healthy, and it feels nice.

This game fucking sucks.

showers don't use nearly as much water as a fucking bath you idiot. you have to FILL a bath up with water, and guess what? It's longways which means it takes up more lateral space. does the movement feel okay in this game? really want to get it when my index arrives but movement just looks odd from the videos i've seen.

Will VR ever have its own cult classics? It mostly feels like simple commercialized stuff, like before Nintendo got involved with gaming.

It already does. Pavlov and Blade and Sorcery.

It causes nausea if its your first free locomotion game, its very fast and instant, but once you get over it its as tight as it gets

so you basically move around with the joystick? is there any alternative form of movement?

Im a VR shill and come on man.
Shitty CS rip off and melee tech demo number 3? Even Sairento is more memorable. Pavlov is only as popular as it is because there are no other options. If Valve ported Source games to VR Id forget Pavlov and its retarded dev in a minute

>not posting MK x-ray edit

Maybe you could find a way to use a DDR pad?

They aren't talked about enough for me to believe that they're at that level. And the VR games that are talked about enough like Beat Saber are in casual genres.

In Pavlov? Theres some OOB locomotion where you point and your guy goes there and camera teleports, but using that is suicide. If youre worried about nausea, take it easy with H3VR and slowly add Pavlov into the mix, start on FY_ maps with bots and eventually youll feel youre ready for S&D

please user, tell me what this is from

>are ya winning son?

Why did Drew have to go, bros?

I don't think they'll ever understand how VR is a dead end. Even if some somewhat fun games come out for it, they don't realize that VR game design will hit a wall WAY sooner than non-VR games ever would.

I think something like Doshin the Giant would work really well in VR.

Can't you just use occulus go and shit with riftcat thus giving a cheap pc vr experience?

user, there must be WMR headsets near that price which would actually work. The Go doesn't even have positional tracking or controllers. Even if you're cheap, why waste your time on that garbage?

that doesnt answer the question
actually riftcat has a dedicated oculus go version
i personally wouldnt risk it, i had a tracking system setup with the ps move hardware and it was super janky and you'd need to recalibrate it constantly, had drift issues and for decent tracking you need at least 3 cameras which would then give the average usb hub bandwidth issues

VR is dead man. I wish it wasn't. It's been out for 3 years and the best game we fucking have is a shitty CS clone.

I wish VRGIN got updated for newer unity games. Or is there some way I could update it myself to work with newer engine stuff?

VR is -the- way to play sims. If you aren't using VR, you're losing.

Never been the same since. It just sucks now

the cuck twirl

i mean the repository is right there, you can fork it and try to make it work if you have the know-how

Head-tracking works satisfactorily in the vast majority of cases, and a triple monitor setup has better FOV and 3x the resolution.

Funny you mention losing, when spergs with 5K direct drive wheel setups and fancy hydraulic pedals lose every race to kids with DFGTs.

If you're already going to the hassle of hauling out your stick or your wheel and pedals, then you might as well chuck on VR too, it's a bit more immersive. But it's nothing world-changing, and I'm sure spergs who spend 10 hours a day simulating long-haul flights would rather just have monitors so they can get up and have a coffee.

kino

Jesus, it's only a game but this is breaking my heart.

Absolutely patrician webm

I don't want VR to die i just don't understand where to get actual meaty video games and free anime porn. It seems everything is behind a patreon paywall, requires lots of set up and individual bug fixing.
It just look all so clunky and intimidating from outside and i mean i've modded my games before therefore i know. I know it's a pain in the ass to do and takes entire evenings.
Virt a mate looks unfinished, custom maid/koikatsu/honey select are janky ass games, nothing easely caters to my specific fetishes, yiffalicious is furry shit, waifu simulator is crap.
Every videogame webm i see is some arena shit where i have to do karate moves in my room. No story, no characters because the character is you, no gameplay because the gameplay is you.
I want to get in! Tell me where is the actual good porn!

Attached: inside.jpg (480x360, 21K)

Anyone from complete newbie to veteran can tell you the ability to actually tell when the apex is coming and being able to quickly look right or left to see exactly how close the opponent is to your vehicle is nothing less than game-changing. These kids can take a DFGT with VR and shit on Fanatec triple-monitor shitters because they lack depth perception.

A company need to sell a full package bundle, with absolutely everything you need to get into VR
I don't care if it's like $5000, I just don't want to be piecemealed and end up spending like $10,000

Just get a VRChat bf.

what? just buy a prebuilt pc and the headset of your choice. or console and psvr if you're pleb. What about it do you think is costing 10,000

Based thread is still up

>he doesn't build a shoddy VR-room and attach it to his house
It's like you're not even trying

One thing I'm really shocked by is just how shitty everything is in terms of basic software implementation. VR is something that basically requires OS tier support to work well, and yet everything feels like VR is a total afterthought. Want to browse your PC in VR? Enjoy clicking through awkward as fuck menus the size of peas while you can't even do basic shit like bring up the task manager.

All games require modding which is something you have to somehow do outside of VR, and then put your headset on and just hope it all works? It's the most atrocious software I've ever seen, and the fact it's been straight up broken for OVER THREE YEARS at this point is so laughable it makes me want to die.

Anyone who thinks there's good porn in VR is lying, or they've actually spent 100 hours modding Skyrim while constantly removing their headset to do basic shit like enter console commands.

Just wait until Valve unveils their new Linux VR desktop environment.

You might want to check out TPCast Air. Apparently you can combine this with the Oculus Quest so that you can stream PC content directly to the Headset.
It's not out yet, though.

What? TO access my desktop in VR I just press the Oculus menu button and viola.
You must have a vive.
I'm sorry, user.

It's never going to happen, because Valve are the absolute kings of half-baked ideas. I can't tell you how many basic features have been broken over the years in SteamVR, and nobody has bothered fixing them. I'm guessing they have a team of 2 interns and a Pajeet working on their entire VR software support.

I hope the Index is going to flop hard only to boost my ego even more for not buying one.

It's already sold out, user.

Artificial stock limitation. Also no one tested that shit yet. Maybe it's falling apart as soon as you wear it.

haha, didn't see that at first

We truly live in the future.

Whatever helps you cope, user

Oh, it does. I'll be in denial as long as I can only to save me some bucks not paying even more money for meme VR.

In it's current state, it's almost a joke outside of occasional gems like RE7 and Ace Combat 7, but Iron Man VR seems a step in the right direction for the medium, what with the motion controls simultaneously playing a part in steering and aiming, forcing the player to do one or the other.

Attached: 1556906200055.webm (440x280, 545K)

I'm in a similar boat then, user.
Got my Oculus when I had a nice IT job.
Got fired from that, now washing dishes for minimum wage so there's no fucking way I'll be able to afford it until I get a new job.

Attached: 1556908651722.webm (500x280, 486K)

>Here's how I was jerking off guys. Everyone gather 'round so I may explain further.
What compels people to make their private behavior as public as possible? The internet is social poison. Man wasn't meant to live this way.

Comfy

I hope it sells like dogshit and they wind up pumping them out on an 80% off sale a few years down the line to make back the millions they spent on custom tooling for a failed idea. I wouldn't mind a slight upgrade by then.

So, just so we're clear, the problem here was apparently the VR headset and not the part of his brain that said "choke yourself with your belt"?

mods to add ambient sound downstairs of your parents arguing when

>"FUCK YOU"
>"FUCKING WHEN? IT'S ALL I'VE BEEN ASKING FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS"

my fucking dick holy shit
still i dont know if i wanna spend 500 bucks for the best fap of my life

It's pretty straightforward really.

Affordable, lightweight headsets that are breathable and don't feel uncomfortable after more than 30 minutes of wearing them. Completely wireless (not tethered to a gaming rig or console), and nothing that requires fucking wall mounting lol. And last but certainly not least - content. Actual compelling content, whether that be movies or live sports or social apps or games or whatever.

We're probably a decade away from this. Currently, VR is a meme gimmick fad for Valve-obsessed dorks who unironically worship Gabe Newel and prance around the Internet proclaiming VR to be the future of gaming while thumbing their noses at all the non-believers who just don't "get it". They're like Linux gamers in that regard except much more annoying. But VR will get better going forward once battery, lens, software and GPU tech catches up.

>battery tech
People seriously don't seem to realise that we're well past the limit of batteries. If we make them any more energy dense, they become more dangerous than jet fuel.

I can't wait for electric cars to be commonplace, so people can start making excuses for the sudden massive increase in mortality rate because the floor is literally covered with lava in the event of a crash. But I'm guessing that's one of the reasons for the automation push for cars, because if cars get safer, you get less overall fatalities anyway. Just a shame people are going to be burning to death.

Batteries are never going to get another jump in energy density. They might become more efficient, but density is a no-go.

>People seriously don't seem to realise that we're well past the limit of batteries. If we make them any more energy dense, they become more dangerous than jet fuel.
Jet fuel: 43 MJ/Kg, 35 MJ/L
Lithium-ion battery: 0.36-0.875 MJ/Kg, 0.9-2.63 MJ/L

Attached: 1429761240995.jpg (200x303, 16K)

So what's the best vr headset currently out? I wunna get something that's 4k 90hz at least as I can't stand low res/dpi close to my eyes

Yea Forums doesn't know what it wants with VR. They'll piss and moan about it not being a complete simulation with you strapped up like the Lawnmower Man and then they'll piss and moan that having to move around to play "isn't what the people want" just because they themselves are fat potato sacks.

Thankfully, they're not the multi-million dollar companies investing or producing for it. So convincing them isn't important.

>star vr
dead iirc

you could try with Natural Locomotion

You probably want the Valve Index.
The best headset when you factor in value is the Rift S, despite the memes against it.

The Index is superior but it's also more than double the cost.

Ausfag so I'm shit out of luck trying to grt one at retail price.

The gasoline cuck has to make up facts to win in the argument.

i'll find you, bastage

Attached: eeee.webm (960x540, 479K)

>keep using OLED panels instead of the LCD's they've switched to, since the colors/contrast/responsiveness/motion blur are all going to be a lot better, despite reduced sharpness at the same resolution
>needs more games that let you sit down and use a mouse/keyboard, a regular controller, or the touch controllers need to be made, certain games can work really well for this and are improved by being in VR
>continue with the switch towards inside out tracking rather than outside in, since finding a proper place and setting up the sensors is too much of a hassle for a lot of people
Playing The Forest in VR and one with an OLED display will make you really appreciate what VR can be, it'd be so great to play a thief-esque game in VR.

It's not nearly old enough to even have regular classics though. Give it like a decade for that.

I played about 50 hours of H3VR.
I'll remember how fun that game is forever

Lmao

They're fun to play. That's literally all that matters.

Can't and shouldn't, it doesn't work as an input method and its expensive, it needs dedicated games and those are dogshit, be has literally nothing to bring to the table of gaming, not to mention 1/3 of the population doesn't even benefit from vr since their depth perspective is defective or absent.

More actual games instead of glorified tech demos.

Attached: 103.jpg (1024x576, 81K)

They can all play every VR game

If the games didn't demonstrate the technology, they wouldn't be good VR.

Idiot.

What sort of games are you hoping for in VR?
I would love a witch simulator sort of game where you play an ugly old hag on the outskirts of a medieval European village.
>Learn a variety of rituals using all sorts of components from the physical "eye of newt" sort of stuff to components harvested through other rituals like young love or a singer's voice
>leave the hut to pull sandboxy stuff around town or wander the forest for old artifacts
>make trades with the rare villager brave enough to visit your shack
>maybe he wants to be more brave, so you take his cowardice (secretly another useful component) in exchange for an errand like "go fetch me a dozen frogs"
>other random events could include village kids throwing rocks at your hut or "heroes" demanding you pay a protection fee
>when you gather enough power, go all Columbine on the town or just expand your hut, your call
Old hag witches are the best. I hate how uncommon they are in vidya, especially as a protagonist.

how does vive pro stack up?

imagine if he didnt have room mates
he'd be dead
do you have anyone to find your unconscious body Yea Forums?

I agree with him, most vr games are just tech demos. The play time should be much longer than the 3 or so hours most popular VR games offer. I'm sure we'll get to that point when all novelty of VR is finally gone and it's taken more seriously, but part of me worries that before that big companies will lose interest.

I have hopes for more creative applications as the resolution and controllers become more practical. A lot of it is either 3D painting or voxel sculpting, which are fun and pretty but not something you can really use.

Neos VR sounds promising but it's furry as fuck.

Vr "tech" is literally introducing more useless "interactions" like reloading and other shit that where previously easily doable with a simple button press, and the price of this shit gimmick and muh immersion is the inability for the player to have proper movement since it would introduce motion sickness.

On a business standpoint, having games tied to controllers is unheard of and unacceptable, there is no proper standards for devs to base themselves on.

It also requires a auntie computer to run since any framerate below 60 will make you noseous.

How is VR not a fucking scam and joke at that point ?

Make a poorfag friendly headset.

Overpriced

>43 days

Attached: 1524039205278.jpg (341x300, 25K)

Just watch a movie if you prefer animations to interactions that much

Then you're not looking for a game. You're looking for a time sink. There have been titles that don't even last an hour but gave people good experiences. I can say the same for VR.

Idiot.

I can't read this gibberish.

I want some kind of 3D modelling or animation tool in VR. I've always felt like traditional options are janky as fuck, trying to move something in 3D space on a 2D screen is a concept I've never enjoyed. In 3D, it makes perfect sense, even more so when you can do shit like mocap.

Not as long as it is a headset and two remotes you hold in your hands.

This guy is totally right.

I own VR, I've gotten over sim sickness, but most people are not going to make these concessions. It's fun jumping around and shooting stuff in VR, but it's not a compelling experience I'd spend 10 hours a day playing, and I don't think anything like that will ever exist in VR.

We can tell it's you.

>It also requires a auntie computer to run since any framerate below 60 will make you noseous.
>How is VR not a fucking scam and joke at that point ?
I love when you can actually see the seething third world

streamable.com/0dcq5

I'd like something like Scultris over the voxel stuff like Medium but a regular box modeller would be nice too. Google Blocks has the beginnings of that but it's only for very basic geometry.

end of the day, it's the 3D visuals and fully 3D controls that really make VR beneficial. A desktop setup can't grab part of a model and do position and rotation in all directions at once.

You're the joke.

I'm just looking for a game that's fleshed out enough to justify its cost. Time is just a somewhat reliable way to measure content. Of course there are exceptions but typically if a game is only one play session long, it won't feel like a full game to most people and $40 is an unjustified cost.

this with Hajikuji and I'll pay up the ass

HMDs capable of serving as full-time desktop monitor replacements through virtual monitors. Valve Index and HP Reverb are moving us very close, it's more on the software side at this point. And we still need to figure out wireless. Hybrid-standalone with wireless streamed flat content could be good.

impressive kick, but why? there's no motion sensors on the feet

>HMDs capable of serving as full-time desktop monitor replacements through virtual monitors.
I look forward to this too. Instead of monitors you can just position the windows anywhere in any size around you and see any supported graphics in 3D. Seems like the windows AR stuff is paving the way for that at least.

He's having fun.

While this is still decades off in terms of basic comfort, the real killer here is just resolution. I don't think people understand just how dogshit the resolution is on a screen that's even 1440p positioned an inch away from your eyes.

Look at whatever real monitor you have in front of you, right now. Then imagine that screen being duplicated to fill most of your field of vision. You should be able to at least quadruple the vertical resolution for a shitty FOV, and you're looking at 6 times the size for a decent FOV. So you're looking at an absolute minimum of 8k, with 16k being a more reasonable choice. We're not hitting that kind of pixel density any time this decade, buddy, especially when the SOLE application of such screens is in HMDs.

this is just mean

It can't because it's a meme gimmick fad that is already over.

Oh god that thing. I remember that thing. I wish I did not.

>no :
apply yourself

Really wish the updates would quit fucking killing all the mods and custom songs.

How are they going to make money from DLC if the peasantry keeps making tracks themselves?

If B&S had cloth destruction and fancier dismemberment tech it'd be my favorite VR game. As it is, it's just a painful reminder of the limitations of indie devs.

These are the same old tired webms and each one of them are fake. So what if you hug them in game, in real life you feel nothing, you hug air. You pet them in game, you feel nothing and pet air in real life. Current VR is not actually VR.

>so what if you pull the trigger on your controller, you aren't actually shooting a gun at someone

Who knows what they'll think up in the coming years. Especially when there's a specific need for small scale screens instead of just using phone tech.

I recall one headset in the works that has a second screen for the center view. that allows much crisper details when you're looking ahead. Through that's obviously limiting.

It's a scam and every one of those webms are by someone who owns a Patreon.

biggest problem is that I don't have free hand to jack off

It's still better than regular controls and a monitor.

minus recoil pressing a trigger is as real as it gets retard

>Especially when there's a specific need for small scale screens instead of just using phone tech.
There isn't, though. VR is already niche enough as is, there's a reason literally every company out there is using off-the-shelf screens with up to 30% of the screen displaying nothing. Because the market share isn't good enough to make custom screens viable.

It's kind of getting there already

OK I've just booted alien isolation up again in 5k ultra wide and it looks amazing
Only just remembered it had a vr mode modded in what's a good high fov high res high refresh rate headset to play this fucker on? Cbf waiting for headsets ad infinitum but I'm not gonna run out and buy a 1000usd+ headset considering how badly they devalue and age
What's the go what are my options?
500usd ish for the headset alone would be fine don't care about meme controllers or lighthouse crap until better tracking and controllers and wireless streaming exists for no sitting stuff

Gotta give VR at least one thing
It's teaching me how to use guns I never knew how to use before now.

I've been saying this since cv1 years ago.
It's just simply not ready for anything outside of detailed hand/eye tracking mainly seated stuff and or have a decent rig that you can run jump etc in with no cables or gay roomspace crap
The ecosystem is a cluster fuck.
The moment occulus was bought out by Facebook and not say idk fucking valve is when it died.
They didn't compete with each other so much as wall everyone else out so they can slowly bleed what little interest is left out every couple of years until it's dead again

>While this is still decades off in terms of basic comfort
not at all. like I said, both the Reverb and Index are very much focused on exactly this. and in terms of the fundamental resolution/clarity issue, I really think that we are at a point (again, as of Index/Reverb) where this should be possible, with properly designed software (VROS).

>implying japanese bathtubs are 4XXL American Supersized

The best part here is that they took a picture first.

>both the Reverb and Index are very much focused on exactly this
And they utterly fail to provide even the most basic level of comfort.

Look, if you ask me what comfort is, it's a pair of glasses. You can wear them all day, no problem. And honestly, that probably is the future of screen tech, virtual screens projected onto glasses that you can otherwise see straight through.

Ski goggles you strap to your face are not comfortable. It's like wearing shitty headphones at best, and as summer approaches, I dread using VR more and more because of how cramped and sweaty it gets.

The resolution issue can't be solved on the fucking software side. Making text 10 times larger isn't a solution, it's a compromise.

don't buy VR if you want to be the little girl, don't make the same mistake I did.
>buy the vive for 800+tax
>go onto VR chat

why does no one talk about skyrim vr when it has mod support?

VR is a meme. It cant be saved. Well maybe if it gets actual games instead of tech demos. But i doubt that will ever happen.

Nips literally use the same bathwater for weeks, dude. If you aren't dirty when you get in, it's pretty easy to keep the tub clean.

Most nips have a shower, and a lot of them these days don't even bother running the tub. Wet rooms are commonplace for Japanese bathrooms, so the shower is often just coming off the bathtub unit and it drains from a hole in the floor.

Because it's a fucking garbage port, the combat has no punishment for waggling like any decent VR game does

bought a PSVR for myself back in December, I wasn't super sold on VR until I experienced sitting late one windy night with the window open standing in that one saferoom in RE7 on the boardwalk outside of the old house, staring into the swamp

Attached: resident-evil-7-guide-backpack-old-house-safe-room.jpg (1600x900, 138K)

>the combat has no punishment for waggling like any decent VR game does
Is there a single VR game that isn't utterly destroyed by waggling? Because I can't think of any.

I have no doubt that Skyrim is poorer than most, but waggling is an invincible strategy in VR.

i mean who are you trying to fool? yourself? tell folks to fuck off when they want your voice changer off
if you're trying to fool them though, then yeah, they can tell you to shut it off.

If a VR game doesn't punish a tiny waggle with low damage it sucks
B&S does it, Katana X does it, Boneworks has it, even H3VR does it
VR needs inertia

I'm trying to fool them for free steam games...

Gorn and Blade & Sorcery. Gorn has dildo like weapons, waggling gives them too little force to do any damage. B&S simulates weight, your avatar wont keep up unless you make deliberate slow, wide moves with Claymores and shit

not any that i can think of
they can't really parry you and force your arms back, because VR can't do that sort of feedback, so you're free to become a human blender and just waggle to your hearts content

you deserve to be bullied.

The solution already exists. You just have to make use of it.

VR needs a AAA killer app. Simple as that. Right now you spend all this money, thousands in the case of some VR headsets and PC setups, for what? Fucking indie trash. Look at Valve with their Knuckles dev kits they sent out. They're begging for someone to come up with something good and what do we have to show for it? The best of the best of all the indie shit is that faggot team's Boneworks game which as far as I'm concerned, is just another Unity engine asset store flip with some custom code for handling finger tracking. Wow.

Face it, there isn't a single game on the level of the titans of gaming history. There's no Zelda, there's no Halo, there's no Half Life. There's not even a single game that reaches the shittier tier titles like Battlefield 3, Call of Duty, Diablo 3, etc. Where are all the good fucking games with high quality, unique content? They don't exist because companies with the money to make these games know that VR is a money sink. They will never profit off of it and so we're stuck with absolute trash content that we have to booze ourselves up for and say we're having "fun."

PS - this post is proof positive Valve has no good AAA games coming for VR. If they did, they wouldn't be sending out dev kits so faggots can make absolute jank that will never sell like youtube.com/watch?v=BwGG35dKTsA

>AAA killer app
Console cancer logic.

>Console cancer logic.
Moves units. Creates markets. Expands opportunities. Hate it all you want but it is undeniably how the world turns. You honestly think RTS died for reasons other than it wasn't selling like hotcakes? There's still niche enthusiasts who love the genre yet are denied the games they would happily buy, simply because they aren't a big enough crowd. How is VR supposed to succeed if it never becomes a big enough crowd? It needs a killer app that draws in massively more people than the currently available ones are drawing. Try arguing against my point next time instead of MUH spamming, nigger.

Why the fuck is Vr chat run like hot garbage on anything other then a nasa computer?

What moves units is 24/7 marketing shoved down people's throats. Oculus does enough of that.

>Nips literally use the same bathwater for weeks, dude.
Not that user, but won't the water get cold (or room tempered rather)?

because vrchat developers can't code

They have insulated baths with covers. Warming up the water is achieved with a simple heating element to regain the few degrees it lost overnight.

1) No they don't, I actively seek out VR and I still don't get advertised to
2) How can you market to people when you have no content? Checkmate

they have heated tubs

They have plenty of content. They have done for years. You just have your little head shoved so far up your loose ass that you think Yea Forums memes are facts.

Not him but they don't even do that, that good.

The fuck idea are you trying to convey here because this sentence doesn't have any substance to it whatsoever. Try again next time toning down on the retarded zoomer angst.

Probably because you have ads blocked? I've constantly seen ads for it on my mobile and the tv.
youtube.com/watch?v=5q6BcQq_yhw

I think you're only seeing what you want to see. Any games they have are 'tech demos', right?

Can't block ads on Chrome mobile so nope nice try. I literally search about VR on the daily and I never see a single VR ad.

Maybe you're not in the targeted audience then. I'm literally telling you I get these ads.

Yes, and? The avatar is cute.

The biggest problem with VR at the moment is the low resolution. With both the PS VR and Dave and Busters VR ride I've been on, the biggest problem is that it looks like you standing directly in front of a CRT TV and you can see all the dots.

>the perfect webm doesn't exi....

Any sane man would. You don't just find a man half naked wearing a VR HMD with a belt around his neck and NOT take a picture.

Best performance wise is Index, best for games is Rift S or PSVR.

What we want is good games. It's that simple. Pretty much everyone on here saying this has been playing games for over 20 years, some over 30. There is way too much net yaroze tier trash for VR currently.

>Index for $999
It's $1206 though.

>Pretty much everyone on here saying this has been playing games for over 20 years
This is kind of what got me into VR honestly
It's finally something new in gaming even if it's all jank and experimental

HMDs are an incredible atmospheric enhancer and I wish more AAA devs supported them. Loved RE7 for that exact reason. Even though it basically added nothing to the game, the visuals were really intense in VR. It was awesome.

I get Quest adds literally daily.

what's a HMD

Same, but the games library is still super low quality compared to what a regular PC can play from the last 40 years and it shows no real sign of improving yet. Nothing yet justifies the cost or time investment needed.

Have you used either both, or either? Very few people have. the previews of the Index, at least, stress how comfortable the new speakers are.

Basically this. Neither the marketers nor the enthusiasts want to admit that the VR bundles they're currently selling aren't conducive for building an industry out of them, so they lie to others or to themselves that the games they're playing are actually worth the cost and setup and that they're more fun to play than non-VR games.

They only just added dismemberment in the last update.
Give them time to improve it.

>there's no Half Life

I haven't once.

vrchat is filled with nanachi model edits

have sex

I've played pretty much all the big racing games since ps1 gran turismo, and started playing flight Sims with MS flight sim 98 and Janes usaf. Since growing up I been wheel to wheel racing like 30 times ,between trackdays, drag racing , tag karts, autox, etc. Also I've taken like 4 flying lessons. Not epeening on 4chins, just establishing my meager credentials.

I have a ps4vr, and gt, ace combat, and valkyrie. The ps4vr has its obvious issues, mostly resolution for reading gauges and such, but the immersion and situational awareness are literally the closest thing to the real life versions I've ever experienced , it's unreal. Way the fuck better than BMS or dcs and track ir. It's un fucking real. I swear to you. When vr has twice current resolution, I will literally never want to leave my office.

>The best of the best of all the indie shit is that faggot team's Boneworks game which as far as I'm concerned, is just another Unity engine asset store flip with some custom code for handling finger tracking. Wow.

I feel that the mechanics they shown in those videos just flies over the heads of most people. Like the douche who thought punching a ragdoll in UE4 was "the same thing in 15 minutes".

A lot of VR games have physics and items that you can pick up but in how many can you grab a crowbar, hook it onto a bar and lift yourself up with it? I think I've only seen it in Blade & Sorcery with people pushing themselves into the air with staffs.

>I think I've only seen it in Blade & Sorcery
Which is copying Boneworks

Wouldn't know anything about that

Attached: VAMsmoke.jpg (1815x1260, 2.35M)

Fair enough. Point is it's bringing the mechanics together in a way that works. If you see a door can be physically blocked by sliding a broom through the handles, nothing's stopping you doing that.

I miss that kind of direct thinking from the Penumbra games. You just handle items yourself instead of just pointing at a thing and pressing 'E' to watch your character do it.

It's very sad when the vr naysayers have such a stockholm syndrome with watching animations that they make lengthy arguments that direct interaction with motion controls 'lessens' their immersion.

vr would be better and more mainstream if it was just head tracking and wii motes, change my mind.

>task: HEADPATS

Funnily enough, there's a Penumbra Overture VR mod, its room scale too.
Its hard as shit though

No way in hell am I going back in that spider tunnel

>there's a reason literally every company out there is using off-the-shelf screens with up to 30% of the screen displaying nothing.
this hasn't been true since the Rift and Vive. Rift and Vive used fairly standard screens with some customization (for eg. low persistence), more recent and forthcoming HMDs have entire made-for-VR panels.

Seconded.

Attached: Punished.webm (640x400, 2.63M)

Actual feedback.
That technology at the very least five years in the future. Make use of some neural inteface like cripples use with top prosthetics and it will be the only way to play videogames.
Like stimulate your nerves if you get hit or your middle ear neurons to make it actually immersive.
Othervise it's just a close-up screen with a little awkward motion controls.

Blade and Sorcery is mediocre. Swords of Gargantua is shaping up to be a better B&S, plus it already has multiplayer.
