The Smashing Turnabout
This Classic mode route is structured around a typical Ace Attorney case - a horrible crime, an investigation, a courtroom trip, another investigation, and another courtroom visit, where the true culprit is revealed.
>Stage 1: Stamina match; one character, Pac-Man, has no Stamina, meaning that he's been "murdered". You fight 6 other witnesses, with a Kirby ally. Opponents are Wario, K Rool, Bowser, Peach, and DK. Kirby is the defendant of the case. This is fought on New Donk City.
>Stage 2: The investigation. You smash your way through police (represented by Mii fighters) while finding evidence (items). Curiously, there are a lot of bananas present at the crime scene. Your ally is an Inkling, a stand-in for a female assistant. This is fought on Fourside.
>Stage 3: Cross-examination. You cross-examine a few witnesses to narrow it down: Wario, Bowser, and K Rool. You fight them each one by one. K Rool is last. Inkling taunts on the sidelines to encourage you. This is fought on Phoenix's home stage, Courtroom No. 4.
>Stage 4: Investigation Part 2. Joined by Inkling, you "discuss" things with Peach and DK and smash them to get the truth. This is in Onett.
>Stage 5: Interim with the Bonus Game.
>Stage 6: Finally, a one versus one. You know who did it - it was K Rool, of course! However, he spills a revealing truth - there was a mastermind to this crime. Fought on Courtroom No. 4.
>Boss: Master Hand orchestrated the whole crime to frame Kirby for the crime of "murdering" Pac-Man and K Rool was his goon! Fought on Omega Courtroom No. 4.
