New game from Grimrock dudes.
Anyone else playing it?
Druidstone
I loved Grimlock. Tell me about this.
Nah, but I'll probably buy it to support the devs. Just gonna wait couple days to see the initial reactions as to how good or buggy it is.
Can't tell much, just started, looks good so far.
Only a little bit. Crashed to desktop right as I got to the "world map" after the first two missions, so I had to do it all again. Not that it's long, but I wish you could skip the cutscenes, especially since the characters and plot seem pretty bland.
It seems pretty fun to play though. It depends on how much variety they add throughout the game, but what little I played was enjoyable.
Can I have a party of ratmen farmers in this one?
>roleplaying
>turn-based
thanks op
Sure gonna expand my image macro folder with this game.
how mysterious are the druids
ballpark figure
It's kind of like X-com, except you're given a fixed party and all of the missions are hand-crafted as far as I know.
>any turn based game
>"It's kind of like X-com"
user please
Is there height on the tilemap or is it all flat?
Have you played it? It has more in common with X-com than it does with something like Divinity: Original Sin. Is Into the Breach more palatable of an example for you? It's a bit like that except not randomized. No need to get your panties into a twist.
Are you not allowed to create your own party? If so, hard pass. Multiple party setups with varying races and jobs was the heart of Grimlock for me.
if it's actually like xcom then fine
No, the three characters you seen in the OP's picture are what you're given at the start (in the first mission you control only two). You can pick their names, and that's it for the beginning of the game.
That's a big no from me, then. I don't want to play a roleplaying game where I can't roleplay as anything other than what the creators intended for me to be.
Green hood / 10
why are there so many people with this garbage opinion? someone makes a game with pre-made characters like most games have, and then because somewhere along the line someone calls it a roleplaying game, you flip your shit because reeeee rpgs have to follow my list of rules
I already played a lot of Druidstone when Ultimate Infestation and Spreading Plague came out no thanks
>Here, you can "roleplay" as this one specific character that is fully voice acted with a set history and a set storyline that (s)he has to follow
That's not roleplaying, that's just getting immersed. Don't call your trash game a "roleplaying game" if there is no roleplaying.
it's literally all the worst parts of xcom 2
strict time limits, rushing objectives, escort missions, enemies spawning/appearing out of nowhere, often infinitely, no character stats, simple skill progression, tiny group of 3-4 people
it's a discount version of xcom 2 combat mixed with the overworld progression of a mobile game
Did they get the name from the past two years of hearthstone?
flat
>roleplaying just means conversation options, choosing a picture and nothing else
Are there waifus?
>My character is Stonegrug, ruler and heir to the throne of an area that's never mentioned in game! He will slay these rabbits without mercy!
That is every """roleplaying""" enthusiasts experience.
What game would you recommend for some fun roleplaying?
>Planescape Torment isn't a real roleplaying game like Mass Effect
The concept of roleplaying is retarded. Both of those games are shit.
>Fixed characters
>Fixed progression
>Puzzle format
Miss me with this druid shit
your shit
Mount and Blade, Outward, Divinity, heck, even Mordhau has more roleplaying potential than this trash, despite not even being a "roleplaying game".
You mean some Grimrock dudes? Because I am seeing a different developer's name.
So it isn't even at least better or in the same level than Mutant Year Zero? Games like this just make me want to play XCOM instead
nice xcom mod
The original studio got split into several others, most people went to this one.
man mutant hurt me in my soul
t. swede
Is it multiplayer? My wife was obsessed with grimrock 1 and 2.
The game doesn't have RNG, this alone makes it magnitudes better than all this shit.
>From Grimrock dudes
Oh okay I might play it. How is it so far?
so all the """skill""" is in memoring exactly where and what enemies spawn out of thin air? great game
So even less replayability. Great. No thanks.
Solid SRPG.
it's too hard
