I love them but I need that exist certain economy system in it to enjoy them, like gran turismo 4, Tokyo extreme Racer... Recommend me some games like that
The world needs an arcade racing game with more options than GTA V has
Any good ones I can emulate?
BUT THE AIR IS NEVER COLD.
AND EVEN THO YOU'RE NEXT TO ME I STILL FEEL SO ALONE
The EA logo unironically makes me feel sad
AND I CAN FEEL YOU BREATHING
AND ITS TAKING
ME AWAY
Flatout 2, no need to emulate, it's endless fun
Play Crazy Taxi
Play outrun 2006 cost 2 coast
I was just playing this before getting back on Yea Forums, am I cool?
play IDAS
play racing sims
planning to buy a raspberry pi or some similar shit to emulate all Burnout games. Is the current state of ps2 emulation acceptable ? ( at least for burnout games )
I want to but there are no good ones for pc
You sound more like a newfag, kid
Gran Turismo 2
there are lots of racing games for PC. you don't need to play the latest meme MTX platform. there are literally hundreds of old racing games on PC, and that's without counting emulation of PS1, PS2, Saturn and arcade games
Well, what the fuck do you want me to say? This thread didn't give much direction for starting a discussion.
ignore that fag you're cool for playing rr6 user

Enthusia: Professional Racing. It rivaled GT4 in terms of physics and it has a fucking GREAT soundtrack.

This is the best racing game ever made, so if you liked GT4, you might like this one, too.
>Not enjoying both for different reasons
Come on, guy
it is true, but why are the examples so fucking shit?
AC, alright, that's proper. Forza? Lmao consoleshit. Can't argue with GT, but those chad lines don't apply to it
>not 1st person
>This is the best racing game ever made, so if you liked GT4, you might like this one, too.
I like your opinions man
that wouldn't make for a good screenshot would it faggot
>Technical Driving
>Lots of cars
>Time Trials being a huge part of the game
That's Gran Turismo dog
There were racing wheels for Ps1/N64
I'm not sure about those, but I bought a t300rs to play GT3 and 4 on pcsx2 and it was worth the investment
post something with harder corners
Wait, oh shit. I misread "That exist Economy System to enjoy them" as "They don't exist in this economy system"
Give Enthusia a try, but it DOESN'T use an Economy system, user. You earn cars by winning races, where you're rewarded a random opponent car. It still has a GREAT progression system, just a different one.
Updated
why does F1 2018 get little consideration?
it's more realistic than gtsport and has a career mode that simulates nearly all aspects of the league, even engine parts wearing from race to race, also the controller vibration gives a perfect feel on whats happening to the car
That one applies to Motorsport, too, though.
what game
The amount of people who played Forza 7 and would know that are fairly small. In general it works
I never played main line Forza games
Play 2. It's the only good one.
OVER THE COUNTER CULTURE
I like FH, I feel like I won't like the main line as much
But I do think I have it somewhere, it came out in a bundle with Viva Pinata lmao
Is backwards compat?
I couldn't get into NFS Carbon like NFS MW 2005. It was slower and the "crew" mechanic felt forced and kind of arbitrary.
No, I don't think so. Damn, what a shame. FH1 is though, that's neat. My favorite of the Horizon games.
Oh no
>bundle copy
Well I'm gonna put it in the tray and see how it works
I would but the only ones sega puts out these days are sonic ones. Not that they're bad.
hey OP, why don't you play the new burnout?
Damn. My 360 is in my parents house so there's no way for me to try out F2.
i played it and it was fucking pish mate
plays just like 3, but feels more barebones like 2. what's not to like?
>plays just like 3

>Why yes, I do prefer futuristic arcade racers such as Rollcage, Extreme-G and Ballistics. How did you know?
I just bought Gran turismo Sport, what am I in for
What Project Cars tried to be
But not what Gran Turismo should be
i mean lmao but i had moments like that in 3 and revenge too.
AHHH GIVE ME F-ZERO YOU STUPID FUCKS
are you stuck on console and can't go back and replay B3? because I played DD literally back to back with B3 and DD is trash. DD only works if your memories of Burnout are vague recollections from 10 years ago. it doesn't work on a real boomer like me.
Why doesn't Nintendo reach out Sega or Sumo Digital to make another game for this franchise? I just don't get it.
WE ARE THE LAZY GENERATION
Test Drive: Eve of Destruction is underrated as fuck.
I'm worried I'm getting myself hyped in my own mind for something that isn't going to happen but dammit I want BanNam to announce Ridge Racer 8 at E3.
i mean i'm not saying DD is better than b3 or revenge, as those are full packages. the gameplay is just really faithful to those old games and it's definitely worth a shake.
F1 is boring as fuck
Forza 1 and 4 were good too
I DON'T KNOW IF WE'LL MAKE IT HOoOoME
Different Yellowcard song, same "OH YEAH BITCH" impact.
ehhhhh
i don't know how to drive
still waiting for Forza Horizon 4 crack
The racing game with the best soundtrack is Gran Turismo 4
>the gameplay is just really faithful to those old games
It isn't.
>and it's definitely worth a shake
It's not.
I'm not going to spend 500 bucks for a racing sim setup, so no.
>tfw unironically like Yellowcard and enjoy seeing them live on through all the EA games that they showed up in over the years
feels good
GT4 is pretty good in terms of Licensed soundtracks, yeah.
I think 1 and 2 are the best in terms of OST, though. Their licensed soundtracks are also fantastic. 3's is the weakest of the four.
burnout.wikia.com
Is there a single bad song on this?
Absolutely based.
Even better was the fact that, when Gran Turismo came out, licensed soundtracks weren't really a thing.
Posting Kino.
>not posting the full intro with it
It still gets me hype 20 fucking years later
>literally have the Burnout 3 and Burnout: Revenge soundtrack on the USB stick in my car
What the fuck happened with Dangerous Driving's soundtrack?
Some royalty-free and commercial-free generic rifts would be better than nothing. Speaking of which, Burnout's "Eurorush" was my favorite song from that game, and "Big Surf (Pass Me By)" is my favorite from Burnout 2.
Everyone had Burnout but I feel like i'm the only one who had this
I will when you bring back cops, customization beyond paintjobs, and most importantly unique cars instead of your yearly released lambo
For me, it's youtube.com
With the fan patch that adds widescreen and new windows support, only issue is slow alt tabbing
Name one bad thing about this game
orpheus is a skip for me
I like Sega Rally
>in my opinion
fixed that for you
I been playing NFS: Hot Pursuit (2010), NFS: Most Wanted (2005), and PGR4 as of late.
Good stuff.
I wish PD would release the classic tracks in GT Sport. Grand Valley, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, SS Route 5, Autumn Ring...
Hell even High Speed Ring has nostalgia value.
>hating Ash

Been trying to buy the bloody soundtrack but of course it was a Konami Style only release so now it's rare af
Too much oversteer, and crap gearbox tuning for the avg. speed you're driving at
>Hating on Ash
God damn it, man. I JUST posted Ash kino above you, too.
I just want SSR11 again. Why has it been so fucking long?
I did, and I am busy doing other things right now
I still love me some burnout threads
>F1 is boring as fuck

You are only a boomer if you like shit before 2000

The greatest racing game of them all.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa stop reminding me
3rd person is for queers
Because it's just one discipline and narrowed further by being just one year of racing over and over since you're the only one who can switch teams.
2019 with its F2 entry level will hopefully be a vast improvement on that. If they made other teams swap drivers too it'd be even better.
Online still pisses me off with the lack of lobby browser and how many times it gets stuck on the black screen after a race. Let alone the torpedo shitters in every well populated ranked lobby.
I loved the goofy effects some of the bosses had, like the rain effect behind the car's wheels turning bright red when you faced blood hound
Saccharine Smile and Please was always turned off. Xbox version custom soundtracks were where it was at though when you discovered most of the albums they had.
There was way better tracks on their album like Detonator or Vampire Love

ia flatout 4 any good?
it's fucking garbage
no
Fuel was such a comfy game, used to jsut play it and turn off my brain while thinking about stuff for hours finding the waypoints and shit.
Mad Max was also a good game with a more complete experience (the waypoints on fuel were quite empty besides the typical race).
There is no Flatout after 2
how's wreckfest compared to flatout 2? It's on sale for 20 euros and it seems fun to play offline for the mods and online for the multiplayer
>gimi will retire soon
feels bad man
>Chrysler ME-412
Fucking hell I'm still sad that car never went into production.
fuck man I want a good arcade racer with online, I'm asking too much
>Saccharine Smile turned off
>not liking HEY GIRLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
what are you fuckin homosexual or some shit
>mfw she moves fast, takes control
still, I prefer a much focused experience
I will never get to learn perfectly all tracks in all cars and all the setups for all the tracks and cars in games like gran turismo
plus it has qualifying sessions and proper race strategy is important

Autism.
Yikes
I'm the same. In GT games I always got a Viper GTS and just used that for as much as I possibly could. Collected all the Vipers and in-game versions of mine and my friends' cars to fuck around with too.
I'm still tweaking my Sauber setups 3/4 through season 3 on F1 2018. I'm a bit of a casual with 50% race distance and 102 AI level on my career mode so proper race strategy doesn't really come into it too much since I just qualify on the harder compound and pit for the softest available and make up plenty of time with max grip and minimal fuel load.
the arcade racing game genre is dead
People bitch about super cars but theres an entire dictionaries worth of obscure supercars that never get a vidya appearance.
Its always the same lambos and ferraris and its no wonder they get bored. Especially with shit modern design
Physics suck
You are the contrarian here.
Are you even human?
I would if they weren't all console exclusives and simulators.
Where did all the good arcade racing games go?
have secks
Mein neger.
RE-VOLT best book fair buy of my life
It's was super awesome at the time that they got the licences to use real cars on this game.
Best game of all time coming through.
I do, its my favorite genre. Building my rally consistency in Richard Burns and Dirt Rally atm after getting a wheel by accepting mistakes and not restarting stages and it's rough. Though by the time I'll reach speeds I'm happy with I'll probably have all the courses memorized which sucks. Hotlapping is great fun too though, more so for me since there is less frustration involved once I get past the initial restart hell.
my fuckin nigga
*snaps right behind you*
heh...
PD should fucking wake up how fucking hard can it be to implement proper championships with free practice and qualifying sessions instead of the events they're recycling since gt2, like building your own racing team and shit
they could btfo the forza and project cars competition easily
u sure going to play this card?
you know about Nintendo fag games scores on there, near perfection...
metacritic scores means nothing
I never understood why people liked 4 over 3.
Racing games are dead on console, but not for PC. The PC arcade emu scene is constantly getting new shit. Initial D 6/7/8, Maxi5, GTI Club, FNF Drift/Supercars, Battle Gear 4, Daytona Championship, Model3 emu just off the top of my head. So much fun shit to play with on PC
YES
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
its easier at the start
is it possible to learn this power?

What happened to that new Burnout successor that came out a few months ago? Looked alright until I realized it was Epic exclusive on PC and gave it a hard pass

A LIVING DISASTER, I DIE FOR MY MASTER
I'm playing through Redout right now and the campaign is so fucking long. I unlocked class iv halfway through class ii.
It'd be even worse if I had the DLC, but at the same time then I might actually see more maps.
HOLY FUCK
If it had been released on PC, it would still be popular today via mods. Massive mistake from Monster Games to make it console-exclusive.

BETWEEN EACH SMILE THERE'S A TEAR IN YOUR EYE
my toaster at the time couldn't run that game very well.
But the PSX version was great, in fact it seems this version has more cars and evolution mode had that nice passing through the eras by changing the music and aesthetics of the tracks
>no open time trial mode so you can travel between each circuit
>man I just want a new arcade racer, we haven't had a proper one in years and I'm tired of kart racers being the closest approximation
>yeah man totally, I really miss Burnout
Don't know racing terms, what are some fun casual games where drifting and such is easy and simple for PC or a console that can be emulated on PC?
I take back what i said
I was thinking in the flatout 2 (pc version) when defending 3
after seeing this video i don't remember playing it. lol
another great racing game is pic related
Oh, you mean Flatout: Ultimate Carnage.
That's just an expanded 2.

CARS REAL BIG
Who are you quoting?
I could really go for a new Midnight Club. LA was pretty good. Too bad Rockstar only makes one game a console generation now.
I've been thinking about finally playing Burnout Paradise. Should I get the remastered or The Ultimate Box, which is shitload cheaper.
kys
>that ONE FUCKING LEVEL

GIT GUD
What are some good, recent non sim racers? I can't get into stuff like Dirt or Forza. Too frustrating. I just wanna go fast. The last racers I really liked were Need for Speed Most Wanted 05, Episode 1 Racer and basically all the Ridge Racer games except RR Unbounded.
It did though, most cars were nig mobiles with shitty performance. Also it's fucking bullshit that a pigfat s500 can go neck and neck with a fully built murcielago.
Trackmania nations forever star edition and Flatout 2/UC
I hadn't noticed this when I was a kid and I played this, but some days ago nostalgia struck and I started playing again and then I noticed.....
>snoop dogg ft. the doors - riders on the storm
>It's snoop dogg ft. the doors, not the other way around
>Riders on the storm is a fucking snoop dogg song
it had less nigmobiles and more tuners than mc3 did
riders on the storm is a song by the doors
that was snoop's version with heavy samples from the original
I just now started playing ballisticNG, it's great. Best part is that if you downloaded id when it was free you get to keep it after they entered 1.0 and raised the price to $5. So many workshop mods.
You must have amnesia, they made up most of the car list and the dlc just added more except for maybe one or two shitty sports cars.
Yes, I know.
I was kinda annoyed by the order. It should have been the doors ft. snoop dogg
>It should have been the doors ft. snoop dogg

As a guy who was always interested in how Granturismo's career mode works and armed with nothing but a potato laptop and a hacked PS3 which one is the best to start with?
>potato laptop
how potato? if you can emulate GT3 then start with that. if not then play GT5 prologue on ps3, then 5 and then 6
1 and 2 posters are nostalgiafags more than anything, the handling on 1 and 2 is nowhere near as solid as GT3.
Loading screen/garage music was max comfy.
youtube.com
Better career progression Forza 7 or GT Sport? Or should I just stick with Dirt Rally 2.0?
Kart racers don't fit in with your point in any way, shape, or form.
Been playing this a lot, I guess it counts
Also, Assetto Corsa but I feel like I should invest in a wheel
I do
Gracias doctor.
next paycheck I'm spending up to $300 on a racing wheel
are they as sick as people claim them to be?
some games nowadays don't even have changeable weather
do not buy a logitech wheel under any circumstances
thanks doc

GT3's ost was max comfy.

The GameCube is the only 6th generation console I can play games on, and a good chunk don't run at full speed. Yea Forums is a lying when they say living the next lifestyle. I'm trying to look for a job almost solely to get a better setup, but I haven't had any luck so far.
well shit what's a good brand then?
that guy is being melodramatic
the g27 is still the best entry wheel out, and secondhand it is one of the cheapeest
they call them logiquakes for good reason though, use a strong table
Thrustmaster does some solid stuff that isn't half a decade behind in technology for roughly the same price range. Logitech has been rebranding their G25/27 pattern for multiple iterations by now with no actual improvements beyond soldering in a chip for compatibility with ps4/xbox consoles
Wreckfest, Grid Autosport (if you don't mind the amount of DLC), some people liked The Crew 2
Sonic & Sega Racing Transformed
They said they don't feel like there isn't anything new they could do with the franchise. Essentially, GX was the best F-ZERO game they could possibly make, and there is no topping it, so they're not going to try.
For a hundred bucks used, sure. But with a 300$ budget the last thing you wanna buy is a g290/920/whatever number they've slapped on it
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and Midnight Club II.
stand aside
Already played.
I tried playing that one PC, but the map would always veer to one direction when I pull it up.
150$ for the wheel
100$ for the games
50$ for the gas and copay to the doctors office when the thing ends up in a violent spasm that tears the muscles in your arms
When did the Initial D games get on PC?
DRIVING GAME, NOT RACING GAME.
Best story to ever grace a racing game.
Any racing game with rubber banding you can't turn off is not worth anyone's time.
Demul can run Arcade stage 3
Teknoparrot has 4,5,6,7, and 8. Along with battle gear 2 and Maximum tune 5 (although maxi tune doesn't have proper upgrading)
It's no problem, all he has to do is never turn the wheel more than 10° left or right to stay in the horrendous FFB deadzone and his arms will be safe
How much different/better the game is than LA? I played LA for a little bit, but I never found myself really enjoying it.
>tfw I made this pic like a million years ago

Do car combat games count?

>love arcade-y racing games
>loved Sonic All-Stars and Racing Transformed
>that feel when Sonic All-Stars dropped the All-Stars
Buy a PDP Xbone controller. You can get it for about $20 - $30 on eBay. Legit more comfy than an official one.
Sim autist here, how do I git gud at Wipeout?
>you got a bronze medal
>tfw Sonic fan
>mfw I'll enjoy one of the few games I look forward to to this year, while everyone seeths about not being able to play their favorite characters that haven't been relevant since 10 years.

I think I'm going to put Moto Racer 2 on my PSP. Should I use the PSP or the Vita? I just hacked the Vita but I don't know how to add PS1 games to it.
>Liked the music that would play when someone goes All-Star
>Shadow's theme has part of Live and Learn
>But you never hear it because All-Star doesn't last long enough
why
MW 2005 looks absurdly good on pc for a 14 year old game
I have to always change the affinity to get that game to run smoothly. Running in multicore causes the game to stutter.
>hide in shelter
>warhawk just comes and rips the fucking roof off
>try and leave shelter
>get rammed off roof by warhawk
Fun times.
Anyone played this? I loved it back then and still emulate it even to this day
See
There's a PC port you know? Now I'm probably start another play through.
You should play GOOD driving games, not shit ones like that.
I would recommend Forza Motorsport 4 - sure it's pretty old at this point (2011) but it's the only one I've played. It was the last one on the 360. It's really good. It's actually my most played game on the 360. And it has an economy system like Gran Turismo 4. You win / earn new cars as you progress through the game, and you can also buy them with money if you want. Personally I saved most of my money though and just used the cars given to me. I did buy a Ferrari 458 though because I thought it was cool.
You could try later Forza Motorsport games (the Horizon games are way too arcadey and unrealistic in my view so I'm not a fan).
Or I've heard and read that Project Cars 2 is one of the best driving games for the current generation of consoles - apparently the driving physics are some of the best you can get, outside of hardcore sims like iRacing, rFactor 2, and Assetto Corsa. I plan on playing it at some point.
anybody remember nascar 1999? has any nascar game ever come close to the way that 1999 models damage, lets you paint and tune your car, and lets you go berserk on the other drivers without immediately kicking you out of the game?
Looks better with mods.
NFS MW 2005 doesn't have rubberbanding. The races themselves are easy, the real challenge is the police chases.
Also if you don't want rubberbanding play Gravel. If you suck at that game the game has no mercy, you will be running behind for the whole race.
Why do people hate Forza Motorsport 7 so much?
>accurate FoV gives proper sense of speed
>looks like playing through a tube
>tightening corners completely vanish outside the screen
>increase FoV to see more
>end up divebombing every corner with overspeed
Combined with cramped cockpit it's truly suffering
What's your opinion on DiRT games before Rally?
Got real microtransaction-y at the outset.
Though they were pretty good about dialing it back into nothing.
DiRT 2 is the best game Codemasters ever made.
Fight me.
REEEE is logitech fine or not
I'm willing to spend up to $300 on the wheel itself if there's a recommended brand or wheel around that price range
which is the one that people who use the shit a lot get?
D3 was fun until they swamped you in GYMKHANA BRO DO A SICK BURNOUT DONUT BRO events. Really sucked the fun out of it
There was a sequel on PS3/360 that was pretty good, Midnight Club: Los Angeles. Online was fun and you could put up your own car designs up for other people to buy and you got credits from it. There was some pretty cool and funny shit.
>NFS MW 2005 doesn't have rubberbanding
A.I. cars have their top speed increased, and are given unlimited nitros if you get a certain distance ahead of them.
>the real challenge is the police chases.
Even on the highest heat, the cops pretty much die with 1-3 pursuit breakers, the only time I ever got busted in the game was when I accidentally hit a road spike.
Also actually another game I loved that also had an economy system was Need for Speed: Underground. I probably wouldn't be so into it if I played it today, but as a kid I thought it was amazing, and I definitely think it is worth checking out if you've never played it.
and 100% reason to remember the name
Horizon soiboys who can't handle running the same course more than once.
Also, speaking of DiRT 2, playing Rally Cross in manual is a bitch. The gear ratios are so close to each other that you're shifting almost constantly.
Tell me about GT3.
I just want a good wheel for PC
every single one says it was made for xbox or ps4 or some shit though
*cough*
What the hell happened to progression in racing games, lads?
>having all cars unlocked from the start
>giving you a supercar from the beginning
>no requirement or incentive or reason to drive shitboxes
>randomized wins from wheel-o-fortunes
>microtransactions galore
>cars locked behind real money
I liked having to work my way up from the bottom, like in older GTs where you'd start with a Honda Fit or something. Forza Horizon 3 just straight up gave me a free Shelby GT350R, a 530HP high downforce semi-slick beast, just for turning on the game for the first time.
there hasn't been a good racing game in years
the only ones i can think of that focus on gameplay rather than picking shitty licensed exotics are the rally racing games
The ultimate kitchen-sink approach racer.
The G27 is fine if you get it used and cheap
The later logi wheels (29/920) are carbon copies of the G27 with the retail price jacked up to the point of being the same as the G27 on release despite no improvements (and arguably worse pedals) being made, so paying 300 bucks for a G29 is an objective waste of money
W I P E O U T
RALLLYYYYYYYYY
I want to argue but I'd rather not have this thread turn against me.
Comfy simulation racer.
they all work for pc too, i use the thrustmaster t300 rs gt
shits good but doesnt come with a shifter, g27 would work just fine, just shop around watch some reviews
Only reason they made the 29 and above was so they can pretend G27 doesn't magically work on a PS4, and to price you out the ass for another of the same thing.
Thankfully that's not a problem on PC, where my 27 still works great to this day.
>still no racing game to this day that has had physics as fun or satisfying as Rally Cross for the PS1.
>but muh dirt rally
Fuck off with your slippery driving on ice even when you're on asphalt bullshit.
see a "very good" G27 for $300 on amazon
this acceptable or still paying way too much?
most range from 450-1200 which seems insane to me
I'm pretty sure I paid $250 for my G27 'new' back in the day.
That's how real cars handle, faggot.
I like the less traditional racing games like Revolt where its not just another boring car racing game, shakes it up. What are some games like that?
its all gonna depend on your local listings for a g27, people around me were selling for 200$ when I was looking.. but I wanted something that worked for ps4 - the 1000$ listings are for the wheel "new" which IS fucking ridiculous but they probably still scam some people
Are there ant sci-fi racers woth built-in track editors for PC? I have an itch to make some loopy shit.
The pedals on the G29 are such a joke
>let's throw a piece of rubber inside the spring and code some batshit aggressive ramp-up curve into the drivers
>surely this will feel the same as a legit load cell and not just ruin your braking
Buddy of mine bought one and the poor lad can't even get rid of the retarded pedal curve because he plays on console and you can only delete it on pc
Having driven real cars, I disagree, but even if that was the case it isn't fun.
That's just Forza Horizon and The Crew, they throw cars at you like candy because they were obviously put together by a mobile game UX designer.
Rally to heaven.
I started Rallisport Challenge 2 the other day.
Weird game for DICE to make. The way the cars turn is awkward (they pivot rather than respond to the way the wheels are pointing).
RBR with NGP
youtu.be
Tiny cars go fast
BallisticNG has a track editor + workshop support
I downloaded the demo of Gravel when I got my PS4. I didn't think it was anything great, but I'm not a huge racing game fan. I just got Burnout Paradise Remastered and I got NFS Hot Pursuit PS3 for like 4 bucks used. I'm liking those 2 alright.
I used to love racing games when I was younger but the constant broken rubber banding in games made me put them off forever.
So it feels spongy as fuck rather than a solid smooth motion from start to finish?
Carmageddon is a nice racing game, until AI says fuck the objective and decides they just want to slice your car in half.
youtube.com
the new one was a bit ehhhh
>racing in games that are not ment for racing
Yeah, it's linear for the first 60-70% of travel and then you suddenly step into a piece of mush while your almost instantly brakes lock up because your input is being amplified on an exponential curve
Feels like shit, plays like shit. And when you remove the piece of rubber you still have the insane curve hardcoded into the driver so now you're still locking up rapidly within 5% of travel, only your pedal doesn't feel like stepping in a piece of dogshit anymore
Memory was the best song in Burnout 3 prove me wrong
Carmageddon is so slow and floaty which can be hard for some folks to stomach. Also driving on marbles everywhere. Loved me some Carma 1/2 in the past, and revisited them when the Reincarnation kickstarter gave me a copy. Boy, do I not have patience for it, and neither did that new title (and follow-up re-release because the initial one was so fucked) help matters.
>the hotring race in Vice City
Much better than shitty 8-Track on San Andreas.
youtube.com
>not Populace In Two
It was. "Stay in Shadow" was alright too (more racing-appropriate).
I miss racing in GTA IV online and I was unbelievably disappointed that there wasn't a very active community for racing in GTA V
I get what you mean about the handling being floaty. Hilarious when you combine it with one of the super speed powerups though.
>pick up Turbo Nutter Bastard Nitrous power-up
>this happens: youtube.com
WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I beat MC:L.A quite some time ago and I remember the cars feeling clunky and boaty. The game overall was dogshit compared to the masterpiece that came before it. No wonder we're never getting MC4.
If it's part of the driver I presume you can't just hook-up (or jerry-rig if it's a different connector) G27 pedals without that still fucking it up?
>when it's all stunt map shit
That's not GTA.
It's good times. Only real problem with the game's design I had was that killing all peds is the most unrealistic option of the three to win a race, and they never really did anything about addressing that in the series. It was always far, far faster to finish the race or killing the opposition.
>when you have to win races by killing all the peds in Reincarnation / Max Damage to unlock everything
Somehow managed to 100% that game but putting unlockables behind online-only events is fucking gay.
Don't use the in-game queue for GTA V racing
>4 wheel drifting in a script moded nsx in 3
just slide along some sections of the city, not even actual race.
400hp 80% friction and you could do wonders.
Moding with IMG and TXD tool got some light on the stuff before the managers came in.
The game got really difficult the more powerful the cars got, AWD cars were a joy to drive but the last classes of cars only had RWD beasts that you had to try your hardest not to constantly spin them out meanwhile the AI completely obliterated you.
One thing that really annoyed me was that you could only do pink slips for the highest class vehicle you had.
Overall, it was definitely a fun game, unfortunate how they completely butchered Juiced 2.
Connector is the same iirc but unless you're playing on PC, where you can download a program to edit that crap out, you're stuck with the retardcurve
It's literally taking the linear readout of the pedal potentiometer and slaps a multiplicator on it whenever you're inside the range where the rubber would be
Cornercutting and bad ideas have always gone hand in hand at logitech
you guys need to buy a handbreak for the g27?
I wanna be a drift god
You need to replay it again
On heat 8 and 9 they start sending heavy vans, if you hit one of them you are pretty much done for.
you dont need a handbrake for good drifting, actually using it to force the slide is the cashul way, you do it with the setup, either the diff lock or the suspension, depending if the game lets you do it that way.
I've rigged my shifter into a handbrake by using a large rubber ring, most games recognize going from 3 to neutral as an inverse button
This will only give you a digital on/off handbrake though, for delicate handbrake turns in RBR I use an old flightstick instead
I actually have no idea what this means
Man, Carbon was beautiful and not as bad a everyone said at the time.
The final boss battle is bullshit though.
What game are we talking about?
Tell ol moses.
SRS is not a good game.
I just want to be DK in toyoko drift
You probably should drive at more than 40 mph, nub
who was in the wrong here?
Fuck just watching this again makes me wanna hit restart instinctively
>you now remember auto modellista
>What game are we talking about?
>Tell ol moses.
thanks for giving me a Midnight Club 2 nostalgia boner
I want more games like this
AUTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-MODELISTA
definitely blue-white, but green got vengeance
I never played racing games much, but I really enjoyed driving fast around hills and rough roads in San Andreas, especially with cars that have large wheels and nice suspension.
What would you recommend for me, anons?
fucking kek'd i was not expecting that
who here /old/
holy shit all these handbreaks are like $100
why
pretty sure you can buy a functioning real handbreak for like $11
I should try this game.
the handling in this game was fucking ass but i am forever grateful for it supposedly inspiring drift city
i miss pic related
Is driving in China basically IRL Burnout?
I remember Split/Second being pretty fun.
It is. Too bad Disney killed the sequel and the whole fucking studio.
Anyone ever play this? Not really a racing game but had fun timed missions and a decent track creator to fuck around with
The intro lies
I WANT MY BITCHEN MONSTER TRUCK WITH A FLAME PAINT JOB
Wasn't it basically just a better destruction derby: arenas?
never ever.
This is one of the few old racing games i can still play.. Racing through the alps in a shitbox porsche 356 with the psytrance background music was fucking awsome
youtu.be
Colin McRae Rally up to 2004 was good. Went downhill in DiRT until DiRT Rally.
What does Yea Forums drive?
yo what game is this
Win Sinseong ever make another car besides the Jujak?

HOT SHOE
BURNIN' DOWN THE AVENUE
>350Z
>usually sidelined for the 370Z
use a button for the hanbrake in games like this, there is no multiple joystick support.
For a game it has it, just rip appart a cheap wheel to have an analog axis and use an actual car one for a DIY solution.
Sw20 mr2, almost damn near killed myself the other day in the rain.
See
ford mustang
One of my favorite racing games is not even being sold anymore for whatever reason and I'd really like to play it again.
Is there a community around this game still?
What does it take to mod H-shifter support into GT4?
Last 4 shitboxes were a 09 Lancer, 86 MR2, 16 Fiesta ST, and 15 BRZ. Would still be in the ST if granny didn't rear end me going 60.
Based
V8?
can you just assign the clutch to be the handbreak
OH OH OH OH
I BETTER SAY SOMETHING NOOOOW
Burnout 3 has rubber banded AI and it was goat, just fuck off.
What's the most autistic car game? A real "car simulator" that only a real car mechanic / enthusiast would be able to play?
This better be bait
I played forza horizon 4 all the time. 2nd best racer I've ever played after underground 2.
1. Underground 2
2. Horizon 4
3. Gran turismo 4
Before the thread dies...
...just wanted to say I beat this.
Is this Pole Position? I remember being in arcades that had this game. Another one I always remember seeing was other Atari arcade game Road Blasters. And then there's this awesome Pole Position commercial for the home port:
iRacing is the most hardcore racing game, and actually race car drivers (including F1 drivers) play it as practice. You pay a monthly premium and there are no street cars or "fun" modes, just pure max realism racing.
rFactor 2 is also autistic purely on the basis that it's /ovg/'s favorite game.
Car Mechanic Simulator is what people obsessed with working on cars play.
>Gigantic maps
>Car selection was good
>A fucking casino(that doesn't work anymore because servers got shutdown)
>Houses
>WITH FURNITURE YOU CAN CHANGE
Even with all the glitches and annoying stuff, i really like this game. Feels like a racing game meeting The Sims.
Finally a man of culture
Test Drive was always kicking Need for Speed's ass left and right, but because it was so inconsistent it got shafted.
God tier taste my dude
Get the adrenaline emulator
Really hated the dumb celebrity shit
1 is vastly superior
2 isn't busted on PC, so it's better
Literally 10/10
How does GT Sport compare to older GT games like 3 or 4? Does it have a proper career mode? Does it have licensing with focuses training exercises?
Also, does GT Sport allow you to change your field of view freely?
may as well dump some photos
What's wrong with 1 on PC?
which racing game should i play on PC using a controller? forza 4 was my favorite, forza 5 changed the control scheme or something in relation to manual transmission so it was slightly worse. forza horizon is probably out because im sure most of the draw relates to the online meaning i cant pirate it
as someone who wants to get into a racing sim what's the best one to start out with?
I'm sure there's probably the best sim one and one that has the best graphics but I'm thinking best overall experience with longevity
The map always scrolls to one side, so it's impossible to use it.
Anything by Codemasters they always make sure the games play well on a pad, GRID 1 and Dirt Rally are the best. If youre willing to experiment with filter settings, you can get most sims to play ok on a gamepad though.
GT Sport: The Real Photography Simulator
random car design
Sims are barebones on the "experience" front because they focus on the driving, what you want is a simcade. Project Cars 2 is good from what I heard though, rFactor and Assetto Corsa have a lot or custom content but the progression/career mode are barebones as fuck, which is good if youre already into the genre bad if youre not. GRID 1 has good variety and an enjoyable career but its pretty arcadey.
music is subjective, but imo it was just tonight by jimmy eat world
Yeah the whole story is crap and they should have never put cutscenes in the game.
>The girl speaking like a dumb bitch at the start of EVERY SINGLE RACE
I put the voices to mute because of her.
>Dirt Rally
dirt rally always looked pretty cool to me, should i start with 1, or is 2 a direct improvement?
thanks user
>Rollcage
loved that fukin game. the music was so good. why do modern games lack the atmospheric genius of old games, it cant just be nostalgia can it?
i drive uber occasionally, and i have to stop myself from speeding when youtube.com
Never encountered this issue. Just because something is fucked for you doesn't mean the game is busted.
DR2 is a direct improvement although not a huge one. DR1 is still fun if you're low on money. Both still have active daily online stages.
Also DR1 has Pike's Peak. DR2 does not because Sony bought the rights for Gran Turismo.
god those sliding ai cars are so infuriating
Play a real racing game
what mod?
google uit fag
>not playing TDU platinum fan mod right now
fucking casuals
What would you guys pay for an open world, semi realistic driving game set in late 90s/early 00s Japan?
>start with a shitty hachiroku or silvia and work your way up to eventually getting a R34 GT-R or Ferrari 355
>do odd jobs like delivering tofu or testing cars for tuning companies or starring in Hot Version to make money
>join street racing, drifting, and other kinds of clubs
>Ebisu circuit is on the map and all 7 layouts are available to use
>master the uphill, the downhill, the wangan, the circuit
>customize your interior with little trees, momo steering wheels, bride seats, drift charms, etc
there are lots of shitty mods out there
i would give my left nut if this was forza horizon 5
The closest to that is Tokyo extreme racer drift 2
Fast and furious on PS2 is kinda like that as well.
I only drive cars used by law enforcement, Crown vics, impalas and ford explorers.
Modern rockport with 4k shadows.
>When you're going so fast you break the sound barrier
>music cuts out as well
>cutting outside turns without breaking
Pretty sure this game got me into going fast, Redout is my new baby
Anyone else play this? It's not exactly racing but I fucking loved it.
I don't like how some new cars clash really hard with original cars. Wrong scale, flat texturework, fullbright rims, pitch black interiors, way too hi poly models etc.
First car was a 2007 Dodge Charger base.
Current ride is a Ram 1500.
I've learned my lesson with Chrysler, next car is either a Kia Stinger or a Cadillac CTS.
Thanks user
What do you think of Redout Chad?
my dick
It was my first Horizon game, but I played the hell out of Forza Horizon 2. Beat the main game and complete at least 75% of the challenges. I haven't touched the DLC.
red 2016 honda accord sport 6mt
Great series, but it was a very difficult game, you have to be precise.
The sequel is almost as difficult but is forgiving.
I had it on PS3 but got an legit copy through GWG a few months ago. Great game.
Gran Turismo 2?
Now THAT'S a game
Was it disappointing?
I know it was $50 when released, Walmart has it for $40
I hate it when I genuinely try to engage in a thread and ask questions that are important to me only for them to go completely unaddressed.
I'm just going to go back to trolling.
No crunch physics
>Started playing it yesterday
>Trying to gold all the license tests
>Hit IB 7
>Get stuck
>All the old walk-throughs call it an absolute bitch even then
Now I remember why I never did it
What are some good arcade racers that have come out within the last year or so?
Dude i fucking loved Crus'n exotica and excite truck, my favorite track in excite truck was that one that looked like a cristal planet: the song, everything was so perfect.
Hey guys before this thread dies, can someone tell me what the best racing games for the PS4 are? I can get GT Sport for a few bucks at my local store, that one good or nah?
BallisticNG is the best one
GT Sport is alright, gets lots of new content updates for free, and they've actually improved on some aspects that GT fans have bitched about for years, like the crappy audio.
are there any modern racing arcadey/drift type games that run at 144fps? i seriously can't stand playing anything below it.
>a few bucks
Yes, I've gotten 60 hours out of it so far.
Reee how can i run it on windows 10? Tried literally everything.
Absolutely based, still have my collectors edition in mint condition.
youtube.com
also based
E36 compact
Any games where it's just fun? I don't want realistic I just want to have a blast
forza horizon 4 my dude
6 speed manual tree fiddy zee
I probably should have said I have a PS3
it's on pc
I probably should have said my PS3 is the only thing that can run a game
who /wipeout/ here
omega collection in VR is the best racing game I've played in years, kicks redout's ass
too bad the studio is fucking dead
see above!
Boku No Pico Racing Allstars
you need a current gen platform. buy a pc or buy a cheap xbone and forza
I've been playing grid 2 since I got it for free. It was ok but I can't use my shitboxes anymore in career mode so it's a lot less fun.
>go fast in racing game
>eyes get watery
Why the fuck does this keep happening? It's not like I'm actually driving with my windows down.
ON ANOTHER DAY C'MON C'MON
OVER THE COUNTER CULTURE
WELL THAT'S RIGHT WHERE YOU BELONG
what question faggot
I don't respond to "what game are there on my platform" or "what games are like need for speed lol" because you're fucking retarded if you can't find a racing game to play
nah it looked shit, like someone just grabbed random mods off the Internet regardless of quality. it looks fucking terrible
youtu.be
youtu.be
Namco's music used to be Max soul, shame they started to go real heavy with industrial techno and dubstep
A handfull of games would let you do that on PC.
On console, i dont think so.
