It just hurts

The game had the right foundation. It should've been the greatest game of this generation. But it isn't. It's shallow. It lacks the creativity of Ground fucking Zeroes. I think I know why-- Kojima never intended to release it until 2017 at the earliest.

Just ONE more year of development man. I don't care that the story was trash. The gameplay/level design could've been A LOT better.

It's pretty disgusting that Kojima hasn't killed himself over how bad MGSV was.

It wasn't bad. It was boring. Boring is worse than bad.

The modding scene is slowly developing OP, the ability to make maps for the Fox Engine exists currently on a rudimentary level through Unity but someday with time and effort I'm sure great things are to come. PC master race.

Just wait for death stranding. It looks like sony doesn't care how much money he burns, so maybe he can use some of the ideas that he couldn't use for mgsv there aswell.

>leaked Excel translation documents, last modified show that the script was finished by 2013 and only needed minor changes in April
>the only unused scenes mentioned are just minor variations of cutscenes such as BiBo looking at a picture of the Honey Bee, etc. aside from Kingdom of the Flies

wait WHAT
Please tell me you aren't lying

>by 2013 and only needed minor changes in April 2015
Fixed.
Go check out the Modders Heaven discord. It's pinned, I believe.

>excel
i mean, writing a script on a spreadsheet would explain why the story is shit, but you can put 1 and 1 together user

>leaked Excel translation documents
nigga what?

>muh ground zeroes
>muh Kojima needed more time
Let's be honest here, you wanted hours of cutscenes written by a hack for a teenager crowd with references to older games.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint might actually deliver on what was good about TPP. I'm looking forward to it

The story isn't on a spreadsheet, dumbass. The notes on how to translate the scenes and their context are what is mentioned in the document, translated from Japanese though.

I liked this game a lot. Sure the maps are boring slogs and very few outposts are big enough to really feel like an infiltration rather than choking three people in a roadblock.
But the controls are tight, interactive environments and tools to pull of some crazy shit with, and I liked some of the meta things Kojimbo tried to pull off like you are big boss and trying to get the player attracted to skimpily dressed Quiet, playing with her in the rain being happy, only to have her taken away, trying to convey some sort of phantom pain via loss to the player. Granted these things could've been executed with better care but hey atleast it stuck to my mind.

There's still some cool or satisfying shit you can pull off in the game in some zones or bases inside the world map but yeah, it's still pretty lacking.

People are making maps for it? That sounds interesting, I might have to look into this.

No, I only wanted the game to have a lot more depth. Polished. It didn't have that. I couldn't care less about the story.

Breakpoint looks like it'll expand on what I loved about phantom pain and ground zeroes while trimming the fat

If you haven't seen it yet I highly recommend watching through this youtu.be/6GWRPDZzQng

i love slope engine!

>literally one indoor area in the entire game more than 2 rooms in complexity

When I got to the mansion in africa it fucked me up so badly because I forgot what infiltrating a building was actually like

shill more please

Sorry I forgot MGSV exists in vacuum in this shithole and you're not allowed to acknowledge the similarities of Ghost Recon and MGSV

Ghost Recon: Wildlands did the same shit with the "gameplay" trailer, it's all scripted. The actual gameplay looks like dogshit, and feels horrible. Have fun playing that.

What's with the shit fov? Like yeah, when I play tps I love having my character taking half the screen and not seeing shit in front of me

I gotta say I've seen the breakpoint trailer thumbnails but never bothered to watch it because the last couple Ghost Recon games seemed like shit, but this one MIGHT have something going on for it it seems

Wildlands is a clunkier MGSV but I'd still recommend it since it's one of the only open world operator games out there. Especially in co-op where you're synchronizing shots and shit with friends.

>tfw bought Survive and actually enjoy it

I don't think an extra year would have added a whole lot save for maybe some more thought put into the cutscenes and a final act. As a whole, beyond the core mechanics and movement, the game's just not all that well designed.

He had more than enough dev time, it was in development for a long time. He just messed up.

You loved coloured tier loot and epic boss raids?

It wasn't bad.
Unlike MGSV it had some boss fights and the open world felt better utilized - and running into this thing for the first time was a big surprise.

youtube.com/watch?v=ErzSxnWWP1s

also Shagohod user, fucking Shagohod in the FOX engine!
gotta love seeing it drift to kill wanderers

The loot are just skins and attachments. Raids are just major operations kind of like Shadow Moses Island or Ground Zeroes. What's the problem?

Stop fucking lying.

>The loot are just skins and attachments.
No they're not, the weapons literally have stats and levels that you grind out.
> Raids are just major operations kind of like Shadow Moses Island or Ground Zeroes.
No they're not.
>Additionally, the title now features even more loot like The Division 2. However, the star of the show has to be the addition of raids. Unlike its predecessor, you'll have to work with a team of players to defeat mammoth foes in dangerous locations. At the preview event, Ubisoft showcased a video of the endgame which will be accessible after launch. In it, we saw a team of operatives face off against giant tank drones in poisonious factories and even inside a volcano.

gamingbolt.com/ghost-recon-breakpoint-has-tiered-loot-drops

Both of you are fucking wrong because we don't know what raids and tiered weapons are like
t. (((game journo))) who literally played the game at the press event

Attached: eye color.jpg (960x930, 56K)

Came out when open world meme was at peak, so they made the most uninspired open world ever, pretty sad desu.
Would have been like 10x better if they made a bunch of sandbox levels interconnected like mgs 3 but at a greater scale

the open world is fine when it has a purpose. Install Infinite Heaven mod and the game becomes 10/10 and that's just a fucking mod that adds life to the world. Imagine if Kojima's team had the time to do it themselves in a native implementation.

Cool story bro, but I think i'm going to take the word of actual published journalists who have all put out articles about the tiered coloured loot system and literally played the raids.

t.notalyingfaggot.

>we don't know what raids
If you were at the press event you would know what the raids were like because they literally fucking played them.

even with some bland level design, and a garbage motherbase/weapon research system MGSV is still a 9/10

No they didn't, they showed off a teaser showing off the volcano base. Stop fucking lying.

Whatever dude, just remember you're wrong when you see the E3 footage.

Cool story bro, i'm sure everyone totally believes you and everyone else who was at the event and has written about it is lying.

MGSV is still one of the few open world games I enjoy, and it's open in the way it really matters: to let me actually decide how I want to play the fucking game. The other good thing is that it doesn't treat its own missions as disposable. Side tasks mean you need to play the same mission differently, which is a good idea from a designer's point of view to make use of all the paths and equipment available. As well as different types of rank and score, even the earliest missions have the potential to be challenging and endlessly replayable.

No other open world is structured like that as far as I know, and it's shocking to me because the West in particular churns out several AAA open world games on a yearly basis. I had my eye on modern Ghost Recon for a while, but it doesn't seem to offer what I'm looking for, and controls/movement look pretty jank compared to MGSV. What does it say about Kojima that he shat out a bland open world game for the first time in his career that is still far more satisfying to play than most games out there?

All Konami has to do (fat chance of that happening now) is expand on that formula by adding more content, especially more diverse level design and threats (like guard dogs, surveillance cameras, etc.).

Read the damn article yourself you mongoloid. You're just spouting off bullshit blanket statements about articles that you haven't even read

Neck yourself.

Seeing the big boys in Fox was a real treat for sure. Bit of a shame that they are essentially stage hazards without proper AI.

I'm confident that the staff left can make a good game given time and a budget, so I'm really hoping to see something from them at E3.

imagine if instead to capitalize on the survival zombie crafting fad a few years late, konami decided to make MGS: Battle Royale

i'd rather keep survive,thank you

>Read the damn article yourself you mongoloid.
You first champ, i'll even spoon feed you since you're dumb as fuck.

>If the inclusion of raids wasn’t enough to give you flashbacks to The Division 2, then Ghost Recon Breakpoint is looking to be even more like its shooter cousin with its loot.
>While playing, the publication discovered a PP-19-01 Vityaz with a “greenish glow”, which is basically the sign for Uncommon rarity.
>noted that loot will also drop from mini-bosses and “other challenging foes”, with five different levels of rarity overall.
>It’s also possible to replay missions for superior gear
>The gameplay is taking a lot of cues from The Division 2.
>Luckily, by the time you reach the endgame, you should've earned powerful loot that will make this attainable.

The whole engine is so smooth but the content is so lacking.

I wanna play this again, but there's nothing to play.

Japan can't into open world games, they're dumb as fuck.

Yeah, because tailing missions and out-of-boundaries fail states are the pinnacle of open world design.

Had good fun for 2 weeks but that's about it. I guess it was fair since it wasn't full price
I still would have prefered a survival game within known bounds of he MG universe, there was no reason to go full retard with wormholes and zombies and shit.

Kojima already went full retard with parasite zombies. But yeah wormholes were never meant to be taken seriously, it's just a gimmick for fast extraction.

Absolutely based.

Imagine if instead of crappy shitty online modes, konami made mgo 2 again standalone, for all platforms, and with new content every so often.
Shit they could add battle Royale if they wanted to
Too bad they are runned by brainled chinks

Attached: 1557622246273m.jpg (1024x738, 119K)

Thanks

>It lacks the creativity of Ground Zeroes
You're a fucking retard

>bad guys that can conjure literally anything out of the ether
it was always going to fail

i think we were all looking forward to watching big boss turn from damaged mercenary into being manipulated by the CIA and KGB into becoming a nuclear lunatic, but all we got was his metal gear being hijacked by two children (one of which can float)

Retard

it wasn't his to begin with.
sahel was also built to be driven by kids well done, Huey
also Psycho Mantis gotta be Psycho Mantis

Someone never played the game!

>Konami has pretty much killed the franchise
>it'll lose its worth
>kojima productions will have a shitton of money from multiple major successes over the years
>in about 10 years kojima productions buys back the rights of Metal Gear
>makes another god tier game

It's all going according to plan

I just want another tactical stealth game that dosnt sacrifice gameplay mechanics in order to be more streamlined. I found myself playing MSGV because its the closest to a decent modern day stealth game we have. prove me wrong.
