Yugi would play a WU go-wide strategy, 'cuz he was always fond of swarming with small creatures.
Yami would play UB Tempo, he likes to use a select few creatures and support them with Spells and Traps, with a side of Wizard tribal.
Joey would be mono-R, maybe BR, he's a fan of being aggressive and chaos effects.
Kaiba would be GR Stompy, full of Dragons obviously.

Depends on your deck. Some decks don't give too shits about the extra or links. Some of them have evolved over time to play with links in combos between their old strategies and new ones. Most modern decks being released are designed with links in mind but older archetypes get new links that may revitalize their play styles like Six Samurai.
Links being extremely generic make them very easy to use once you try them out. Unfortunately they're sorta expensive because of how generic they can be for the most useful ones.

Also because of how generic links are, some decks are playing them over their old toolbox options because it's easier for them. At the same time the generic links you see quite a lot so you just know what they do. It might seem to make the extra deck the samey but links only give your decks options and your main strategy is usually intact unless it's been gutted by MR4.
For example, meet the utopia the lightning which was the new BLS.
