Neither does Corrin, they have totally unique movesets. There are more similarities between the cartoon brawlers than Robin and Corrin have with other FE characters. Ike is also the only heavy, hard hitting swordsman in the cast (unless you count new Ganon and his one move).
It's really only Marth and his glorified echoes that are the problem. They tried to make Roy unique and give him his own slot but then they stapled Chrom to him so lol

The fact that almost all of them have counters alone makes them more homogenous than other series characters.

There are more non-FE characters with counters than ones with them, especially if you ignore echoes. Robin doesn't have one.
It's more an issue with Sakurai being lazy.

2 of them are echoes. In reality it's more like 3 because Roy was just a clone of Marth to begin with, they tried to give him the Falco treatment but he's still too similar.
So it's 3 unique fighters with counters and 4 actual spots on the character select screen.

They're there for two reasons, if they weren't included people would point that out and accuse me of cherrypicking. And we'd only have one at most if it wasn't for "everyone is here" unlike Sakurai jumping at every possible excuse to add as much FE as possible, clone or not.

There's no way they took out romances. Maybe child units are gone, but romantic supports predate even Awakening.
The only thing that's up in the air is whether you can romance Sothis or not, since she might not be a playable unit and therefore no supports. Same for notPalutena since a lot of people seem to think she'll be the final boss.

Robin and Kamui for example are more unique from the rest of the FE cast than the mii or Shulk are from them.

It's unofficially confirmed because there's pre-rendered cutscenes that shows the avatar in default form.
Unless they plan to redo said cutscenes in real time, it's not likely the avatar can be customized outside of the costume you get for changing class.

Some other JRPGs have pre-rendered cutscenes that use the generic protag but still have customisation. It's pretty jarring and horrible, so I hope they don't do that.
