Yuffie gives you a connection to Wutai though. It's a huge side quest sure but it fleshens out the world and you learn about the Wutai War and get more content out of Don Corneo and the Turks

Nothing wrong with Yiffie and she brings in the younger perspective. The main cast Cloud, Aeris and Tifa are 20-something and Yuffie (and Red XII) bring out the teens view and growing. Jessie is not different ebough from Cloud, Aeris and Tifa

What else could they bomb besides Reactors? Unlike AVALANCHE's first iteration, Barret's group only has 5 members not counting Cloud. If they done something as big as actually blowing something else up, it would've been mention. Barret's AVALANCHE's only objective was to help the planet, the only way to do that in Midgar is by blowing up Reactor and not any other random places that would only kill people. They don't see themselves as terrorists or bad people, even if they did kill innocent workers by the end.
