i think the voice actors in oblivion are actually pretty talented, especially the imperial male dude. the NPCs in the game are just written to behave in a very robotic and informative manner. if there was voice acting for every line of dialogue in morrowind, we would get the same effect. either way, i found it incredibly goofy and charming these days.

I’m not a big fan of Wonder Woman doing the female Nord voices, but the rest are fine. The main issue was having too few VAs.

They could've stuck with the open-ended system they had and improved upon it instead of having very scripted sequences that just played on repeat.

Skyrim's NPCs were designed with ADHD in mind or something. You walk down a street and they drown you with exposition and quests as if the devs are worried you're bored.

And funny enough all it takes is one setting change in the files and that stops.

To be fair this is due mostly to her placement; first merchant in Whiterun.

Oblivion's OST is underrated

i've seen many people who hate oblivion even say the music is the best in ES.

Breton battlemage... got really OP and a bit boring later in the playthrough, I had to get creative to keep things interesting.

The Arena Blademaster and the Khajiit in the Cheydinhal Sanctuary both stand out to me because of their rumors lines. Modryn Oreyn gets an honorable mention because I just love the way his VA delivers a particular line in the Fighter's Guild questline: "Blackwood Company?! Bastards! Rank amateurs!"

This reminds me of something I read about a corrupted clone somebody made in Oblivion that wandered around the world killing creatures and leveling up until the player crossed their path and saw what a monster they'd created. Anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I just retarded?

Honestly prefer the high fantasy feel of Oblivion, to the dry-cut standard fantasy with a huge lack of personality that Skyrim has most of the time.

Honestly, one of my favorite class builds was a mace wielding Altmer using light armor and every magical school available. I played on about 75% of the bar (so about expert) difficulty and got my dickhole handed to me by every magical property known to Tamriel. I had to spend time curating my defenses and magical talents so I could survive for more than ten seconds against anything with even a smidgen of magical power, but by end game I was a lordly glasscannon having near-death duels with heavily enchanted bandits and vampires. It was fun as fuck. Also, I think that's one very big reason why Morrowind and Oblivion beat Skyrim in terms if gameplay: magical items.

There's supposed to be Khajiit that look almost identical to house cats. Supposedly they act as spies, so who knows. Every cat in Nirn is an aloof bastard, and also potentially reporting your daily activities to a higher power of Skooma addicts.
