How do I take advantage after blocking someone? Everytime I meet someone on the same skill level as me we just end up taking turns blocking eachother until one messes up. There's got to be a window of opportunity right?

Scroll up and then quickly scroll down. You will morph your stab into a slash and the enemy will try to block your stab but your morphed slash will hit him right when his block is in cooldown

Replay the tutorial. Being good at chambering completely changes the momentum of combat. You should be minimizing your use of regular parry whenever possible.

you can start swinging immediately after blocking, left click a split second after blocking, or some people say it works to right and left click simultaneously. alternatively, chamber morphs are generally a good way to hit someone that counters your ripostes and chambers. kicks if you get the chance, though if you miss youre left pretty open. other than that just keep on them until youre both out of stamina and lose your swords. someones bound to die in a fist fight where kicking is also a good strategy to change it up

first and foremost ignore most of the combat system. now pick a weapon with range and sprint in and out of combat while doing wide swipes and turning into the attack to accel. that's all there is to getting kills no matter what dumb niggers who try to chamber and spend an entire round doing Honorable Duels only to end up 10-8 say.

i think chambering is easier to use against morphs than blocking because you have to chamber right before it hits you, meaning you have to wait for the person to commit to a swing rather than blocking when you see the windup. it can be tough, but this is the part where you git gud

if you trade constant blows for over a minute or so and neither of you have landed a hit because you're that equal in skill, knocking their weapon out of their hand is a good strategy. it just so happens that if youre 1v1 that usually means youll drop your sword as well, though if you can avoid that then even better

a good player will block every parry you throw at them becuase it isnt difficult. the only way to hit those people is to chamber and/or chamber morph. the only time that blocking is better than chambering is against multiple people trying to hit you because you can block multiple attacks of different types if theyre about at the same time, whereas chambering blocks only one type of attack, and the aiming and timing is tighter

I didnt play mordhau yet, but from what i have seen, it has the basic principles of any fighting game with hitboxes:
You dont want to hit the enemy's current hitbox, instead you want to anticipate where enemy's hitbox will be 1 second later when your attack animation hurtbox will finish / reach its peak.
Tldr try to predict what will happen few seconds ahead of time and swing your weapon in advance. If in this game you can move while swinging, you very likely want to move forward only when you swing and immidiaetly after swing go backwards to minimize chances of retaliation. Like a dance.

Don't try to feint/morph/chamber, just parry one of their attacks and use the hyper armor to swing on them. 99% of the time someone using the cheap weapons doesn't know how to stop a drag or counter aggression so it's usually lights out after they're on the defensive.
That being said, there's legit no counter to someone good at the game using a rapier. I was dueling with my old Chiv mates in a private server and the guy with the rapier kicked the absolute shit out of everyone but the maulfag.

Just play and learn the range of enemies swinging their weapons including who step in. When you learn not to bother with parry and overhead swing in the proper direction you are getting somewhere. Interrupt fights and get the final kill with overheads to the side or wide normal swings from the back. Don't be afraid to get into 3 on 1 situations, but if an enemy parries during your head chopping immediately parry him then the guy next to him, giving enough initiative to step back while thrust for spacing. Always use enemies to block their own attacks.
For a simpler way to improve for now, just practice spear thrust, feint then right overhead. Never try to swing or thrust when the enemy has iniative, just be patient and parry, or step into their side with an accelerated or rising swing if you feel they have been waiting to parry you again. If they parry that, learn how to feint while looking into your swings to juke them.

If you're having OP's "problem" stop trying to attack right after a parry, and instead, wait a half second and either morph an attack or feint. This will confuse about 95% of people and you will hit them.

Higher level gameplay is mostly about having your opponent fuck up, so being unpredictable is good, footwork is also very important. On frontline you should use your ripostes to attack unsuspecting enemies, switching targets constantly.
