I mean, there are still like 3 or 5 games I wanna play on PS4, never bought one, and the only thing that is going to keep me entertained for years is Tekken 7, and I don't know if Bamco is going to port it to PS5, but no tekken game has ever been cross-gen, with the technical exception of Tekken Tag 2 for the Wii U and Tekken 3D Prime Edition, a port of Tekken 6 with extra content for the 3DS, however, no Tekken game ever had paid DLC until Tekken 7, so this could very well be an exception.

Work at studio...in the US. OP is technically correct. We have had ps5 devkit for three weeks and scarlett dev kit for one week.

Right now, ps5 has more tf than anaconda. From our limited testing, anaconda will will actually push better visuals though. Anaconda has a pretty advanced (maybe not advanced I'm not a chip nerd) custom version of navi. Basically, MS did a lot of custom work on navi that helps push better visuals than ps5. OP nailed the tf number but it was either a lucky guess or he is lying because ps5 devkit isn't more powerful or advanced than Anaconda.

Here is another piece of info. We actually have a team of five engineers directly from MS helping us get up and running with the anaconda devkit. They are providing lots of support. Sony has been great at support to but it's remote support. MS actually sent a team. I've talked to a few friends at different studios who have told me they have a MS team there too or scheduled to come in the near future.

Also, don't believe any MS e3 rumors. I've been trying for weeks to get details from others in the industry and they have their conference locked down tight. No one is saying a damn thing.

What I said earlier was what I have heard from the team who working on our nextgen projects. I'll try to get some specs though. Anything specific you want? Pretty sure I won't get all of them though. Literally everyone in studio have had to sign multiple NDAs for sony and ms.

MS whole plan is to have two SKUs, one high end premium console they can justify by being the most powerful, and a lesser box that's aimed at 1080p still with a focus on Xcloud for 4k if you wanted it.

All of the "most worthwhile" titles are already playable on yuzu (note, not perfect, but playable), perfect emulation by 2022 is a pretty slim price to pay. They'll probably focus on making blockbuster releases playable faster than working on general optimization.

This is an interesting comment. Right now both devkits support ray tracing. Obvious performance hit though. From what I've heard, it's not something ms is really pushing but sony is wanting devs to include it. MS is actually wanting more focus to be placed on 4k 60fps or 30fps if necessary.

Every game that comes to console comes to PC one way or another and emulation isn't perfect but I think a few poorly emulated apples don't sour the whole games library and console for free.

I honestly have no idea. I wasn't working in the industry at the ps3/360 to ps4/x1 transition but from everything I have heard, the transition from this gen to next gen is going to be relatively smooth. As I said earlier, I'm not on the team working on our next gen project so I don't really have any info on timelines. My expectations are that project times will have the possibility to become longer if the studio decides to be more ambitious. That kind of goes for every gen though. I have seen some sample projects showing target environments for the ps5 and they look amazing. Next gen is going to have more of a "wow" factor than the ps3/360 to ps4/x1.

Currently a technical artist at 3rd party studio that has just finally received both kits. OP is not lying. PS5 has near final silicon in the towers. The low speed version previously lacked the newest PCI-E buses to enable the fastest possible reading for the SSD. Xbox Two? is still using Zen 1 and Vega 64 locked to 1400mhz.

So far PS5 is smoking the Xbox alpha kits, but maybe the next version of Xbox kits will fare better. Though my dev friend told me that docs said the dev kits should be close to the final power envelope.

And ironically a GTX 970 gpu which is less Tflops than a ps4pro and xboneX outperforms them in many cases being able to run games at 60 fps those consoles struggle get past 30.

Ps5 will be as strong as a 700$ gaming PC on the day of its release (Thats a entire PC not just the price of a GPU.)
So expect its GPU to be around a 300$ one.
And thats only assuming the console costs 500$.
If its 400$ expect its hardware to be even worse.
