They're in a shitty situation no matter what since this is the third game in a franchise that started on Vita and continued on PS4. Moving to an entirely different system from another company is by itself a risky move since there's no guarantee the fanbase will follow, but since it's impossible to release the game as-is on PS4, they're going with this halfway approach that could either still make them some money or convince potential buyers to get the real version of the game rather than the one they're going out of their way to highlight as massively inferior. At least that's how I see it.
What matters is the message. I.e: declare openly about how inferior the ps4 version is. This might not look bad but if bamco follow suit and their SAO done similar to this, sony is fucked.

They probably made a cost/benefit analysis that they make little revenue with these niche Japanese titles, and that releasing them directly under the Sony name somehow has the potential to hurt their other business interests.
Being a cost/benefit analysis though, it doesn't reflect in areas where it could cost meaningful revenue, so you don't see them enacting similar standards in the billion dollar Fate/Go franchise, and you won't see them applying these standards to Western AAA releases.

One of the things in the list with all the changes seems to hint that certain events will occur that give you the chance to get exp if you either grow certain flowers or you grow them to a certain level.
The plot is that the school's magnificent flower garden just disappears one day and it's up to the girls to go into the dungeon to find out what happened while trying to regrow the garden.
