For me the biggest red flag is the relationship between Ralsei, the Prophecy and the Dark Fountains. Upon meeting Ralsei he tells the player a pretty prophecy about putting out a Dark Fountain in order to save the world, because apparently the world can only sustain one Dark Fountain, and a second one suddenly appeared and it is causing trouble, so there you go, our protagonists need to go on adventure to put it out. That's nice and everything but that means it's important to confirm which is the original fountain and which is the new one. The game never does that. Ralsei never offers any proof. You have to take Ralsei's word for it and his word means nothing. Ralsei is a prince of no one, in a city made of cardboard, at the edge of the kingdom. It is all too clear that he has made his own fountain and he is asking you to put out the original fountain in the palace because it will transfer to him some sort of title, power or ownership. Perhaps Ralsei will claim he has good intentions but he is manipulative and suspicious.

To add to this, lancer also fits the prophecy role of a prince from the dark.

I mean, I get what you mean, but Lancer and his father just support whatever Ralsei say, from their perspective, Ralsei is the one disrupting the world balance, but both go "Im the bad guy, I wont let you destroy our fountain, heroes of the prophecy" so apparently Ralsei is right.

I cannot wait for the day I get to see my Queen again.

The game? Yeah. The... how do I put this... essense? I wouldn't think so.
I don't enjoy AUs because they change the overall feeling of the game, which I really don't enjoy. It's not that I hate them purely because they can be edgy, poorly writte, etc. (like most people). I just want things to stay how they are, you know?

I have an idea for an Undertale fangame I wanna make some day. I wrote up an extremely detailed, autistic design document for it, but I probably won't be able to actually make it for a long time, perhaps never.
I'm proud of the ideas I came up with for it though, despite being slightly embarrassed about it.

Mind sharing the ideas?

that's understandable, but I think AUs are getting better at preserving the spirit of Undertale (they're not THAT good at it but they're better at it than the godawful 2016 AUs like Underswap or Underfell)

F.U.N events, yeah. The idea behind it being soon after the event that erased Gaster with timelines falling out of sync with each other. Each run would be attempting to 'stabilise' that time line. This would allow me to introduce new areas and characters by excusing it as 'alternate time lines'.

There would occasionally be glitched, unstable locations that can be explored, with most centered around the lab in Hotland. Eg, exploring the true lab from a future where Alphys committed suicide and the lab is filled with rabid, starving amalgamates. The 'goal' of stabilising timelines wouldn't really be enforced on the player, just suggested.
