From what I tried, it emulates full speed on everything up to n64/PS1 + PSP. Gamecube and Dreamcast beta emulators came out a few days ago so I haven't tried them out yet, but from the few videos I've seen they seem pretty stable (Here's a Dreamcast video : youtube.com/watch?v=xbLfT0zvsz0)

I wish, but probably not. The only worthwhile PS2 emulator (PCSX2) apparently has such a tangled mess of a source code that porting it to anything other than windows would be a lost cause, you'd basically be better off making a new one from scratch.

Like i said here everything is running from full speed to near perfect depending on the console. It's got emulators for everything up to the Dreamcast, plus DS, PSP, and recently Gamecube. The switch has a play store type thing for homebrews so you can download your emulators there, or just get Retroarch which has all emulators grouped in one place. The only exception is Gamecube, which is a bit more complex to set up, since you need to also install Linux on your switch to use it right now, but you'll figure it out eventually if you follow guides online.

That was ages ago, no more of that nowadays.

It's called Homebrew App Store, it lets you download games, programs, ports, emulators, and even custom themes. I think it comes with most custom firmwares by default.

Well, chocolate has a very simple and small source code plus it doesn't take a lot of resources to run, so you can port it to anything in a snap
