Why not play etrian Odyssey instead if you want to play an anime first person dungeon crawler?
Moero chronical has mediocre gameplay subsidized with lewd art.
Literally just play EO instead for cute girls and fun gameplay for the genre if you don't wanna go full wizardry

Why not both?

I'm still waiting for EO to make the jump on Switch and Moero Chronicle is fun enough to kill time.

Because one has good gameplay and one doesnt?
If you pirate them sure, play both, but if you've only got money for one just play EO

Can't play EO on PC unlike Moero Chronicles.

You do realize some people have played all the EO games and want more DRPGs, right? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

What's so bad about Moero anyway?

He's just a Basednyfag afraid of ass.

It's just very mediocre compared to EO in terms of dungeon design, variety and challenge. Still a decent DRPG though, and there's some nice freedom in team composition though not nearly as much as in EO. Then again, I regard EO as the gold standard of the genre.

Understandable then
I'd recommend operation abyss instead of moero chronical if you want a cute girl drpg
I heard the 1st game was bad though so you don't need to play it.
Zanki zero exists too if you want one that's more story focused but you don't get to hand make your party.
But if you only have a switch then moero is your only choice for ones with cute girls

Theres a difference between a game that has lewd elements and a game that tries to make up for its shortcomings with lewd elements, and moero is the latter.
If you want lewd there's better. Idk about you but all of the unlocking games for the girls seem like pointless timewasters.
If you want good gameplay there's better too.
It's not a bad game, it's just that it doesn't do either of its selling points well enough for me to recommend it over EO or any other game in the genre.

this game is so terribly bad, that porn game, demon master chris is unironically better

Provide some specific examples please, I don't know anything about EO. Might try it if it looks good.

EO is hard though. I played the first one on ds and got my shit stomped hard even by normal enemies, and I didn't like having to walk on eggshells living in fear that my next step would be my last. It's supposed to be cozy, not fucking survival horror.

First of all, EO games have manual map making. You have the option to draw the map yourself as you go along and place paths, doors, traps, chests and so on on your blank map as you explore the dungeon and discover things. Moero Chronicle's map auto-fills as you walk on tiles.

The dungeons in EO have many more elements like damaging floors, secret passages, lots of event tiles and various obstacles while MC is very simple by comparison and only has a few elements.

In EO you can create your party from a set of base classes that you can then develop how you want in terms of what skills they learn depending on how you allocate skill points. MC has around 50 fixed characters you find throughout the game, each of which has four possible skillsets you can switch between (with much less overall variety than EO's classes).

So in general it's way less complex.

If you want to try EO I recommend the first untold game.
While the original DS games are good in their own rights, they're very unforgiving with their challenge and will probably leave you with a bad taste in your mouth

You could always download Citra and try it

Yes, this is also an aspect to consider. EO will kick your ass (though later games have easy modes), MC is pretty easy even on the hardest difficulties.

>any etrian odyssey
I'd rather play Dungeon Travelers 2, which is far better game.

>playing the switch version
>not playing the uncensored PC version
you're doing a disfavour to yourself.

The bad taste has never left.

How good is Grimoire Heralds of the Winged Exemplar in comparison to EO or MC?

>NONON YOU MUST PLAY ONE GAME AND WORSHIP MY BRANDS. BE A SUPPORTER, NOT A GAMER
yikes.

I opened with the first EO and got my ass handed to me in the first set of levels. Am I too low IQ for the later releases? I've always been scared of touching EO ever since cuz of the first one.

Eo is utter shit

Is this a good time? I'll settle if it's even an okay time if it's comfortable with its boobage and the gameplay doesn't get in the way.

It's comfy, relaxing, and decently engaging/challenging. There's actualy gameplay and depth under the sea of anime tiddies.

It's not the most complex but it's enough game to chew.

Anyone?
I know it's a meme game and not weeaboo but something about it seems so comfy.

Put aside the weeb fanservicing circlejerk for a second and tell me is this game actually good? I just got done playing labyrinth of refrain and this looks kinda similar.

Grimoire is alright, didn't know anyone really was interested outside of the memes about the developer.
It's good if you REALLY want the retro aesthetic and the feeling of "where the fuck am I supposed to go" of older DRPGs

user this is a thread to talk about drpgs
If you want to shitpost theres an e-celeb thread 2 doors down

Every game released after 4 (when the games moved from DS to 3ds) has been made much easier so you won't have a bad taste.
They're all good in their own rights, but I'd say avoid nexus since it's basically a game celebrating the series

Thank you for your opinion

Yes, I'm enjoying the gameplay. Currently trying to build a new team in chapter 5, but good tanks are rare.

>completely forgot about refrain
i am ashamed of myself, never finished it though

but basically goes through it
its hard to make a bad game in the genre. its not complex as EO which is the golden standard, but the game isnt bad
if you just want something to play it wont hurt

PC or switch? I dont have access to switch and not sure if the PC version is the same or switch is an updated one

did they got away with "making your own map" I've always hated that (and the absurd difficulty).

no, they didnt. You still have to draw your own map.
it's a mainstay of the series
the difficulty has been toned down from the original DS days though so theres not straight grinding for long periods of time so you dont get dabbed on by basic ass mooks

then it's a no for me. Which is a shame since I liked the gameplay of the first one (after I used a cheat to increase the exp points.)

Switch only has a few extra items and a(n admittedly very convenient) auto-movement function you can activate by tapping any already uncovered spot on a dungeon map.

Can you fuck your monster girls?

Manual map making is optional in the newer games, you can set it to auto-mapping.

which games are you talking about specifically?

i didnt mention auto map making because IIRC it doesnt place icons or color code the floor tiles so its not a true "auto map".
it just outlines the places you walked with walls and green floor tiles

Slow up ya'll didn't tell me the fucking penis otter was voiced by Tomokazu Sugita, this is a game changer.

Are all EOfags this autistic?

>Otton's head is shaped like a penis
I didn't see it until someone pointed it out. What does this mean?

that's good enought for me.

Untold I and II, for starters.

Still cuts down on 80% of map-making.

thanks.

You can rub them while they moan suggestively and an excitement/purification meter fills based on your performance. That's your stand-in for sex.

You can make the game auto paint floors and draw walls of tiles you stand on, but you'll still need to place the symbols yourself

God, Minotaur is cute as fuck.

List of best girls:
Lilia
Leche
Orc
Azuki Arai
Slime
Goblin
Will-o-the-wisp

Don't have Chimera yet, but she looks adorable.

what happens if you fill al the intimacy hearts?

You get a confession scene of sorts (varies by girl) and an extra item for each girl. Don't know if it also allows you to have a paired ending with that girl since I haven't finished the game yet.

But user moeru chronicle have insane amounts of echi ....

Dark elf is the best character

An extra item? What sort of item?

I don't think they're anything special. I maxed out Lilia and she simply gave me an extra-powerful attack item.

>recommending Censored Zero
die

I say it in almost every thread I'm in. Sugita is your bro and wingman.
He's even better in Castle Panzer

>Slime
My gal and best tank. She's a fucking beast taking hits.

My team so far, i'm thinking to change lilia for slime, what is her best setup?

Attached: team.jpg (1280x720, 244K)

Three things
1. If you have mages put them in your back row so they take less damage.
2. Put your mages on the edges of your party and tank in the center slot(center is attacked more often than edges)
3. Slime is best tank her default costume has the best skills for her

I suck horribly at this rubbing phase things, what did I miss? What is the better thing to do, use the touchpad or the thumb wheel?

Touch pad. Learn which spot and which touching motion each girl likes best (or look them up), each girl has three favorite spots that are always triggered in the same order.

Why does Killer Bee only have one Moe trait? Every other character has two.

Thanks for the infos, I didn't expect the things to goes past the gimmick.

Most postgame characters will also have a single trait, and it's annoying because it limits their usefullness
