I know people will just throw a fit when I say this, and I will preface by saying I totally disagree with any form of censorship in video games.
But is shit like this really that much of a loss? I mean, how good can a game that is 100% fanservice actually be? I don't think they should censor it, but is this a game any has even heard about? Was anyone going to buy this? You can just look at screencaps of the tits on the internet, why buy the thing for them?

The moment the Switch came out. It's not as much a matter of people getting fired than it is simply one of Nintendo now having a policy of simultaneous worldwide releases on a region-free system. What obviously comes from it is the fact that games have to be localized during development and thus requesting any changes or censorship would do nothing but increase the game's overall development time and money spent on it. A total change to the approach you take in shooting as you need to strategize a mix of stripping enemies entirely or killing them as the games have super strict time limits for SSS rankings and the first game never goes beyond 10 minutes for the total mission time(it's like 2-3.5 mins for a S rank on time) The stripping needs to be calculated and precisely done as fucking up and hitting an already exposed area too many times(or with a super strong attack) kills an enemy. The speed and accuracy of your shooting is very important.

I appreciate that at least the developer is making some effort to make the PS4 version somewhat more appealing by giving it some exclusive scene and somehow make it despite all of the recent censorship. If people want the extra "sexual content" they will get the Switch version, if someone want just a JRPG and don't mind knowing that there are some feature lacking, they will get the PS4 version. After Wii Fit immediately made gazillions of dollars and kept doing so (on top of Wii Sports continuing to be massively popular despite being a pack-in title in the west), Nintendo very publicly declared that core gamers were not the audience for the Wii (AKA their flagship platform for the next while); since smartphones wouldn't explode in adoption yet, the Wii was still the hottest ticket way to cash in on what you know as the "casual" audience.

The WiiU was a retarded half-measure to steer back to the gamer audience. They had some sense that the casual market wasn't sticking around anymore yet they kept the Wii branding to try and trick casuals back into the fold. Meanwhile their gamer focus was also incredibly confused, with games being progressively tone-deaf (and sometimes intentionally aggressively ignorant of their audiences) as the WiiU limped on.

The Switch is when they (at least at first) decided to finally actually try to appeal to gamers. I say "at first" because 2018 had some worrying signs of "please come back casuals", like Labo, having more kid-focused ads (as opposed to their successful initial ad campaign focusing heavily on young adults), and Pokémon Let's Go.

This is really interesting. I'm eager to see the difference in sales. One could see this as a "test" of sorts to see how much the censorship affects sales. Hopefully the Switch version will sell more.
