I mean, certainly they both share the same stat focus when building your character (2 Social, 1 Mental) as well as one discipline, but that's all the similarities they have. Either way, the TT has it so that you can choose your stat 'focuses' freely, so that's really only something the game imposes and it's definitely not something they'd necessarily carry over - in fact I think it's unlikely since you start out playing as a Thinblood. I suppose it may just be the case that in the original bloodlines it's most optimal to build both for firearms since it's more expensive to invest in physical stats, but I personally built my Ventrue for melee combat due to Fortitude and my Toreador firearms due to Celerity.

The closer you are, the more powerful you get. In most cases however you don't get automatically miraculous powers, think of it as a power ceiling. An 8th gen elder who has few centuries of experience will almost always beat a 5th fledgling.

In theory that's true, but a high generation with literally centuries of experience can take on a low generation neonate with little danger. A vampire's abilities grow much stronger with age.

In tabletop terms, you have to think of it like a low generation might start with higher initial stats, but a high generation vamp who's been around a long time has earned and spent far more experience than the low generations initial stat boost.

Also, diablerie is a thing, so a high generation vamp can get the same stat boosts as a low gen vamp over time, particularly if they are sabbat or anarch.

There are some blood magic shit that can do change your blood but it's some autism-tier thing I don't know of, like Baali initiations. 99% of the time, no it doesn't change.
As for Thinbloods, since the blood and the vampiric curse gets weaker and weaker in each generation, theirs is so weak that they don't show any characteristics of their clan. They're basically clanless vampires, doesn't matter if their sire is a Nosferatu or something else.

Many vampires are clanless, with thin bloods being much more likely to be clanless (or possibly always clanless? not sure). The clanless vampires are considered failures and get shat on.

Different clans cannot really convert you, except if you're a thinblood and you drink all the blood and unlife out of another vampire with better generation than you. Then you will no longer be a thinblood and you will take on the blood of that clan. Keep in mind there are two parts to a clan, the social aspect, and the bloodline. A clan is an organization as well as just a family tree of vampires.

There is such a thing as caitiffs, which basically means clanless. There are really two kinds of them. Some of them have a bloodline but they were never raised in a clan or don't know which clan is there's. They still have their bloodline's curse and affinity for certain disciplines. The other kind of caitiff is more weird, these ones actually don't carry the clan curse or affinity for clan disciplines as their fellows (most of these caitiff are higher generation and thinbloods are all like this).

Previous editions mentions shit like nosferatu helping out bums, some rare vampire love, some vampires seeing humans as something more than tools.

Ventrue is good, yet Malk will offer a nice preshadowing into the unknown if it's your first playthrough. Go with Malk, don't listen to memers saying that Nosferatu & Malkavian are bad for your first playthrough.

Experiencing most of the game with deranged dialogue is amusing for all of an hour at most before it largely gets old and so all you're left with is the occasional prophetic sentence and being able to recognize that Therese/Jannette are also Malkavian - which is probably best experienced without being told about it up-front anyway, even if it isn't a particularly shocking twist.

Bloodlines are deviations from the established clans, which barely feature in the games. The first one had a nagaraja if I remember correctly. You're talking about clans.
Clans decide your curse (which can be personality defining if you let it), your disciplines (which can also be personality defining) and your environment within the camarilla, which can also make you end up one way or another.
You can be a brujah businessman and you can be a ventrue anarch and you can be a relatively sane malkavian to an extent, or a gangrel that's intelligent and collected (see one of the main characters of the first game, albeit he still embodied the virtue of personal freedom).
What you see portrayed are usually stereotypes, because people need to be eased into the setting, or just plain laziness from the writers' part. The tremere run a horribly contrived ring of blood bonds to their elders, the malkavians are fed information from an entire network of madness, the nosferatu are misshapen and ugly, the toreador are enamoured by beauty, the gangrel are being eaten away by the beast inside, etc. After a while, people break into their stereotypes due to the way the clan forms them into something, but that isn't always the case.

What's the fucking point in an Animalism ability that will be extremely mechanically/visually similar to the Chiropetan power to control swarms of bats? If they were going to have Animalism as a base-game discipline, it'd be better if they went down the route of making the ability allow for controlling bigger animals like Wild Dogs. The ability should definitely be in if just for the utility of being able to 'communicate' with animals.
