IEYASU!
IEYASU!
IEEEEYAAAAAASU!
That being sengoku basara is my favorite mosou series, it's a shame capcom stopped being these games to the west and a shame it's becoming a mobage
GOD DAMN IT
I'm only familiar with Sengoku Basara from the animated film which was too anime and high quality for me not to like. Think there were some musou games from it that I never played
WE
ARE
READY
I miss this spastic fuck why won't capcom give us the games?
WHAT SAMURAI HEROES IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE FUCKING GAMES EVER I PLAYED THAT SHIT SOOOOOOOO FUCKING MUCH ITS NOT EVEN FUNNY I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THAT GAME AND I HAVENT EVEN PLAYED THE OTHERS THE MUSIC WAS GREAT WHATTT THE FUCK MAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
not like they would have brought a new game to the west anyway.
It's like musou except it's actually good because instead of having 200 characters with the same five moves they made 20 characters with detailed movesets and each stage has a unique gimmick to it.
What system is it on?
Sumeragi has 40 characters.
4 is on PS3/PS4, 3 is on PS3/Wii. Easily emulatable with Dolphin I assume.
To be honest though, until 9 fucked everything up the later dynasty games got much better at making each weapon more unique. 8 had different weapons for all characters and they definitely played quite different from each other (the bench, the ring blade, the cannon, the boat that can for some reason summon entire waves)etc etc
Not really? All musou characters play exactly the same: SSS-T, SS-T, TTT, SS-TT. Sure there're few gimmicks here and there but they're very minor and don't affect general gameplay at all. Samurai Warriors even added weird hyper attacks which made already primitive combat even more trivial. Basara is just on whole another level, each character is completely unique and has a lot of interesting stuff going on. Lots of attention to details like Ieyasu's hood taunt reducing his charge times and his charges having a secret 4th level or Saika's taunt increasing the amount of grenades she's throwing and those grenades bouncing if you hold the button etc etc. Basara is filled with such things.
8 was the only DW I've played aside from 3 and every character was the exact same shit.
I thought Capcom was finally over this shit, man. What a shame. SB is pretty much the only good musou.
It was only the very new weapons that had unique gimmicks. Sun Quan's fire sword that charges based on how long you move around, Ding Feng's ring that has extra moves when you hit the buttons at the right time, YueYing's bladebow that fires extra shots when you use R1 first.
They needed to do more of those for the older weapons, not just the new ones they introduce later on in Empires.
Sumeragi is really cool, but it's a pain in the ass to navigate the menus in moon to upgrade your stuff. English version (not dub) would greatly increase my motivation to play it.
Literally every character had their own unique moveset in 8.
Literally every character in 8 had this.
I wish there was a PC version of any of them.
I don't have any consoles, but it looks like something I could enjoy.
Liu Bei uses twin swords you nut.
You can emulate the one game they released to tue west on the Wii with Dolphin.
Yes, and? All that means is he gets a tiny variation of that.
Might check that out.
I was recently thinking about reinstalling DW8 for a few hours of mindless fun, but I might just do this instead.
Are you blind? There's clearly an additional T combo between these two! Totally different movesets.
Emulate Samurai Heroes and if you'll like it you can jump into Utage which is DMC3 of Basara.
>two different weapons are the same
You are making no sense.
FUCK YOU AND FUCK CAPCOM
In DW they are exactly the same. Every single weapon in DW8 is pressing square until you press triangle. Every weapon has no depth at all beyond that, the only difference is in speed and area covered. There are no charge moves, no hold moves, no directional moves, no counter moves, nothing. Maybe you just have no idea what Basara combat is like and that's why you don't understand the difference?
>Every single weapon in DW8 is pressing square until you press triangle.
Could've just said that.
>Every single weapon in DW8 is pressing square until you press triangle.
This is true, but as a brainlet that occasionally just wan't to shut his brain off and kill hordes of chinks, it does the job.
>tfw Nouhime with new combat never ever
I thoroughly enjoyed SB2 even though I had no idea what was going on since it wasnt localised. My favorites were uesegi and that guy who rode an anchor
Me too.
My favorites were Nagamasa's Power Rangers ripoff subordinates miniboss. They even combined into a big mecha after a while. Shit was hilarious, I miss that game so much.
any differences between wii/ps3 sb3? aside from graphics quality i dont remember if there were any but id love to emulate them.
I don't think even graphics any different. Maybe resolution but on emulator you can get 1080p anyway.
i wanna play sumeragi but i can understand moonspeak so reading anything will kill me
There are guides with English translation of skills and whatnot, you can easily find them with google. But it's still a pain in the ass to do anything that involves not actually wrecking fools on a stage.
Thankfully the actual gameplay really makes up for it so I encourage you to get it if you are thinking about it.
Menus aren't hard really, you get used to them in like an hour or two. The only tricky part is weapon upgrade system but it's totally doable with a guide. After a while you'll just memorize skills you like and will be able to see them. I played like 100 hours without any problems.
Holy shit a sengoku basara thread in this forsaken shithole. God bless you based basara bros
Date Masamune is best and the coolest
>Utage translated never
>Sumeragi translated never
Sega and Namco have no problems localizing weebshit, so why Capcom can't release the games outside of Japan?
I remembered when i played utage on dolphin. That was a rad summer. Beat the normal campaign with everyone in the cast
Samurai Heroes came out back at the height of Capcom's retarded expectations period. They wanted the game to sell 2 million copies in the west as a budget release with no marketing and no franchise history and were then disappointed and wrote it off as a failure when it only sold 200,000 copies.
It's not like there's much to translate in Utage since there's no campaings from vanilla.
It's not a surprise after Yukimura-den bombed
Yukimura-den was lazy cash grab. It's funny how their new movesets were worse than their original movesets. It's just ridiculous, Masamune's every attack has a hitbox of the whole screen, it's simply not fun to play.
Nobuyuki had same gimmick as Hideyoshi and Masayuki while was fun wasn't very combo friendly. The biggest annoyance for me is how game has improved weapon customization and challenge mode. Those should've been in Sumeragi not in this piece of shit.
The last game they made Yukimura-Den failed since it tried to be more drama like Koei's Samurai. Which is funny because Koei then releaeed Spirit of Sanada which was honestly a better game and told the Sanada story way better. Basara is suppose to revel in the goofiness and over the top. So I was hoping a return to that. But its disheartening to have it be on mobile.
People here are missing the point, the attractiveness of DW is killing chinese people.
just translate sumeragi you frauds
the Irony is that koei borrowed from capcom’s over the top and goofy nature

Basara 3 Utage was literally my first and only japanese import I ever did
I always despised musou games because in my youth I tried one of PC ports of older games and was like wtf is this bullshit, it's ugly, it's clunky, lol a series for retards. I avoided these games for years and only /cgg/ with a recommendation of Basara basically forced me to try Samurai Heroes. And holy shit that game was so amazing I played it and then Utage for hundreds of hours. Tried recent musous after that and liked them too, got really into whole RoTK stuff as well as Sengoku Japan. Guess many people ignore these game for the same reason I did which is a shame.
Nice. Glad to see people can come around and enjoy some musou.
Man SB2 was the series peak
Watching Sengoku basara play videos on nicovideo got me through some rough times fuck CRAPCOM
I'd say Utage was a peak solely because of how awesome new combat is. Sumeragi is still good though but I wish it had more stages to just hack lots of basic mooks instead of gimmicky enemies.
