Thats why you use water dipshit. Water beats fire, fire beats ice, ice beats water

>cast ice spell
>it throws a literal glacier at the enemy
>enemy resists cold
>0 damage

>Health, power, and carrying capacity are all tied to strength
>Int only governs magic power and dex only governs range power

Fire melts ice you dumb blue haired cock gobbler dummy.

Exactly what the fuck is ice going to do to water? Lightning beats water, water beats earth, earth beats fire, fire beats plants, and earth beats lighting and plants dont beat anything.

Name one that does literally that.

Also FUCK devs that add int because they saw it used in other game, even when they have nothing to attach to it.
It shines in dialogue skillchecks etc, if your game doesn't have anything to display actual intelligence of your character, then have it be something else.

Wis is magic tho. Int would be skill points

When you add more elements than you need, then you have stretch what beating means.
I guess the argument is that ice a. is resistant to water damage and b. turns water into ice

Latter is obviously retarded, but it's so fucking common in games that it's one step away from common knowledge.

>game has separate magic schools for int and wis

Attached: 1505020432778.jpg (480x640, 53K)

>game has magic with different elements
>affinities don't actually exist and everything does the same damage
why bother adding "elemental" magic in the first place?

Plants being separated from Earth is a pokemon thing which is stupid and has always been.
Also water should beat fire, not earth.

>use water attack
it burns your opponent

>devs making it seem like there's any depth but there actually isn't
imagine that

It's not exactly as he says it, but in morrowind strength affects your physical damage, carrying capacity, and starting HP. Agility affects your accuracy and stamina regen.
Meanwhile Intelligence only affects your maximum magicka.

>Also water should beat fire, not earth.
>He’s never seen a fire hose melt a solid hillside into a river of mud

Fucking why?

Water is such a shitty element.
Relies only on countering other elements and in best case scenario making wet enemies vulnerable to other damage types.

Game that has water and fire moves do same base damage is automatically a shitty game.

Bath with a toaster to find out.
Techically not strong against the element but it's pretty obvious why

>He doesn't know abput water jet cutters
>He doesn't want the power to flood entire cities.
You even need water to stay alive. Bet you feel stupid now.

Isn't putting a fork in a toaster more dangerous? Yet electric is weak against steel

Attached: mxv1wdlg2xg11.png (1106x947, 1.35M)

go dip your hand in some boiling water, see if you get a burn

What the fuck am I supposed to use against uranium enemies?

>Thats why you use water dipshit. Water beats fire, fire beats ice, ice beats water
So much wrong in this post. Water doesn't do shit to fire. Take a garden hose to a house fire and you will be spraying all day while the fire keeps burning. The best you can do is contain a fire by dousing flammable objects that it could use as fuel. Whenever there's a wildfire in California, firefighters contain the flames so that they burn themselves out. (please no let cali burn memes, it's an example.) The point is that when a fire is big enough, you can't stop it directly.

Also water beats ice. Toss an ice cube into the ocean, nigger, I double dare you.

Fucking power of little paper clips is usable if you can shoot it as fast as you want or summor trillions of them etc.

>You even need water to stay alive.
Guess that's why, whenever healing needs a element it's the water, huh.
Not the fact that it has so little going for it otherwise.

In what setting is electric weak against steel?
Honestly just curious. I'm trying to think of justification for that and all I have is "uhmm metals are used to take advantage of electricity in machines" or something, and that's pretty fucking bad.

>Be ice demon
>Level up fire magic exclusively for that sweet null fire damage skill
>Cast high level fire spells the rest of the game

Into water, which beats fire

earth only covers non-living things like rocks, sand and gems. Plants are nature.

Put an ice cube in some fire and tell me how that works out.

Ice damage spells are more than ice cubes, drop a giant slab of ice on a fire and tell me how that works out

SEETHING DEX FAGS

Attached: th.jpg (190x202, 10K)

The water will be fine if you do that though.

>Guess that's why, whenever healing needs a element it's the water, huh.
>Not the fact that it has so little going for it otherwise.

If I could only have control of one of the classical elements, then it'd have to be water due to its versatility. Even at low levels I could do a bunch of cool shit. I could summon a cold gulp of water into my mouth whenever I'm thirsty. Being able to draw the piss from my dick and boiling it in mid-air so that all that's left is a pebble of trash would be a rad party trick. I could also form my piss into a frozen knife and akbar a plane.

I'm designing a game and all I have so far is some battle mechanics. Thoughts?

Fire + Earth = Big Fire
Fire + Wind = Big Fire
Fire + Fire = Big Fire
Big Fire + Big Fire = Bigger Fire
Fire + Water = Small Fire
Small Fire + Small Fire = Fire
Big Fire + Water = Fire
Bigger Fire + Bigger Fire = Bigger Fire

Throw into some fire a volume of water equal to that of an ice cube, tell me how that works.

what happens to ice once it hits fire, I wonder?

Throw a lit match into snow and see how that works out.

Every time I see this I'm reminded of that stupid V-Tuber shit Hiroshima tried to do.

Play Magicka for more inspiration

>ice and water are separate elements
Pretty dumb desu. I suppose I can forgive it for CT since I guess Frog had to be water.

>Ice attack vs water
>Ice attack turns water into more ice
Nigger ice wins every time, if anything water should power ice up

Fire + Earth should be Magma
Fire + Wind should be Electricity
Fire + Water should be Steam

water turns ice into water, not the other way around. Water will always be hotter than the freezing point or it'd be ice, the water heating up the ice is more likely than the ice changing the temperature of the ice. The water is obviously a greater quantity than the ice or the ice would not be able to be inside of the water.

>use fire spell on gas enemy
>it does explosion damage
nani

>Fire + Wind should be Electricity
No, that's the recipe for light

Fire + Wind = Light
Fire + Earth = Darkness
Water + Wind = Lightning
Water + Earth = Ice

Fire >< Water
Earth >< Wind
Light >< Darkness
Ice >< Lightning

Shit user that's pretty good

>Use flamethrower on gas canister enemy
>It's HP drops to zero and it dies.

>:(

I stole it from Arc Rise Fantasia. Say what you will about the voice acting, but the gameplay and battle system are fucking rad. It plays like Skies of Arcadia with more depth. In a single turn you can have characters chain magics of different types with each other, other characters, or crystals on the battle field to make different elements. You can double stack fire spells for lvl 2 fire spells.

>use explosion magic - the best kind - on an enemy
>it fucking dies
like clockwork

Smell of rapidly evaporating piss would be cool at parties?

If only the water is boiled off, then you'd be left with a concentrated ball of piss that stinks rather than a room full of boiled piss smell.

i always liked grandia's system
fire+earth = lava/explosion
fire+wind=electricity
water+earth=forest
water+wind=ice/blizzard

>use explosion magic inside dungeon
>everyone dies including you and your party

>Game has magic system with skill trees
>MP or SP is precious in the beginning and hard to recover
>Later can learn passives/buffs that recovers it if you spec properly for it
>Can spam magic for the rest of the game

What games do this? I wrote this with Etrian Odyssey in mind but i love to try other games.

Wtf bros

Why would ice "beat" water? Water is effective at thawing ice as ice is at freezing water. They're different phases of the same shit. Same with steam.

Have you tried not playing shit rpgs?

The first two are good but the last two are gay as shit

you know how hard it is to make water pure enough to have low conductivity
no, distilled water doesn't cut it, it is exposed to air, therefore CO2, which then solutes in your super pure water, decreasing its pH and producing ions
you need to have an expansive ion exchange column to go into miliohm range
