I just finished watching Dragon Ball a few days ago, and I was thinking about how a video game would work. The thing I appreciated the most about the show was the dialogue, humor, and locations. With that in mind, I think a dragon quest type of game would be perfect. Getting to explore the various towns and talking to the colorful cast of characters would be really fun. I think rpg combat would be cool since the fighting was somewhat underdeveloped in Dragon Ball anyways. Making it more action based by modeling it after Paper Mario's combat would be a good fit, too.

Reevaluation aged the original Dragon Ball INCREDIBLY WELL from a fight anime perspective despite all the cornball humor and sex jokes. There were like, what, 40+ episodes of Supreme Kai telling him he has the biggest dick in the universe on top of the entire cell arc already building him up to be the strongest and the new main character only for all that buildup to be dashed within like 3 episodes and then you have to watch goku fight not-cell for another 50 episodes

The VIZ Digital Version is squished for some reason. Everything looks thinner and in the wrong aspect ratio. This ruins the art.

Reminder that while (most of) the fighting games aren't bad, they only capture a surface level of DB/Z by having all the flying, transformations, and giant beams and nuke blasts thrown around. Almost no games in the series have even tried to capture much of anything else, as most of the character interactions are off-screened or non-existent besides story dialogue and match start quotes, most arcs get trimmed down to a greatest hits of action setpieces, and all sorts of other stuff.

Games are games, if people want to watch/read the series rather than play it then sure, but I honestly think the games have painted an idea that DB is about nothing but the hyper-bombastic superspeed mass destruction fighting when it really isn't.

Gotenks vs Buu was the most fun battle of the arc. It's kid with ridiculous powers does stupid kid stuff, but it's still powerful enough to hurt the big bad and sometimes it's supereffective due to how creative kids are.
Vegito actually dominated buu until he went inside him. He didn't actually lose, but freed the absorbed people inside him. I don't think that was very well done, sadly, but it was a fun idea nonetheless. The alternative was Vegito winning then and there, which would have been anticlimactic.

The only problem with Dragon Ball Z is always the anime stretching the whole thing way too much with fillers.
