Yes, but not in the way you'd think. It goes well beyond realistic violence, past action movie violence, past over-the top gore, really dragging it out until it's no longer a spectacle - just a gratuitous bore. Crazy kill moves are fun and all but stringing together like five of them in a single fatality is just tiresome.
