If anything Skyrim made Norse/Nordic stuff look lame and generic, much less mysterious and magical as it used to be, even designs of protagonist's basic armor were taken from another game called Rune. Later viking-based games picked up on skyrim cancer like God of War PS4, Vikings - Wolves of Midgard and Expeditions: Viking, and made viking setting in general look like absolute trash to work with.
And now we will get ubisoft's skyrim next.
