Gangrels are all degenerates edition
VTMB Thread
Ahemm..
Fuck Lady "literally"
Post yfw ventruefags are not getting in
kinda getting interested about vampires the masquerade. should i directly buy bloodlines and play that or buy the first one; redemption, play it and then get to bloodlines?
WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS WEBM FROM?
Doesn't really matter, they're each their own unique experiences
Do you think anyone will still give a fuck about VTMB1 when 2 is released?
Will Wesp5 keep making his weird patches once his fans all move onto 2?
Vtmr
bloodlines is the one everyone talks about, they're not really linked aside from using the IP
the first one was lightning in a bottle, its atmosphere, the music, the characters will never be recaptured in quite the same way. vtmb 2 could be amazing, really hope it will be, but it won't make the first one irrelevant
cool. thanks desu i was about to get the older one on steam but then i read some comment about the game not working so im gonna get bloodlines.
Yes
Maybe
I think the degree to which both of these happen is dependent on the quality of 2. If its really shit people will double down on 1, if its good most people will move on
Is it a character from the game or a random NPC?
Pirate that shit.
Redemption is optional. They're unrelated aside from both using the same tabletop RPG license. It's like playing 2 completely unrelated Dungeons & Dragons games.
They're completely separate games and plots. I'd skip Redemption maybe. Hasn't aged well.
Redemption isn't BAD. But NOBODY would remember it if not for how amazing Bloodlines is.
*Vampires are all degenerates
Redemption is a shitty Diablo clone from a bygone era, just using the same ruleset and setting. It's literally an unrelated game made by some other devs.
If you buy Bloodlines on Steam you'll have to install the unofficial patch yourself (game's so broken it won't even run otherwise), you just download the patch off Google and run the exe, easy as pie. Still, the GOG version comes pre-patched with the Basic Patch if you want a 1000% brainlet friendly experience. That's literally the only difference between the two.
Going Toreador this run, so I might as well put some points in appearance. How much seduction do I need to bang Jeanette and when does it happen? Before or after the crackup?
IIRC the only requirements are:
- Do Jeanette's quests (destroy the paintings etc).
- Choose Jeanette during spoiler.
- Visit her later for some sexy times.
So I cant get them to reconcile? I have to pick Jeanette?
you can fuck her once before making the decision, but you have to choose her to fuck her more times.
>walking around downtown
>close to the Ventrue tower and the parking garage
>hear something that sounds like a muffled person calling for help
>check out the creepy CDC van
>nothing
>mfw
It's little things like this that make the atmosphere in the game.
I'm playing Toreador right now and it's pretty damn fun. I realized that the entire time I played Ventrue I essentially just acted like a Toreador that couldn't shoot as well. Still kind of miss dominate though.
>needing dominate when you have CHA and presence
>tfw nossienigs don't make it
>mfw started playing again today and i'm literally a Ventrue acting like Toreador and can't shoot well how does this end up happening
I just beat it 2 months ago, I was thinking of replaying it but i don't know if the game is replayable if you take it semi-slow
slow-mo + bullet spray all game long dont even have to do anything else for combat
also;
>posty yfw you saw avellone is the lead writer
>A Collection of Girls Staring Longingly Into Each Others' Eyes, Set To Saxophone
Truly a degenerate
>play Toreador
>can still complete Slashterpiece
Shouldnt they be incapable of harming art?
Malkavian's special dialogue writing is nothing special and doesen't make any sense within the game where other Malkavians talk normally.
Prove me wrong
I never said I needed dominate. It's just a fun discipline. Making people sleep or suicide while stealthing around is fun.
>literature brainlet can't piece together the precognition of malk dialogue due to stunted public education vocabulary
I want to like them but have a hard time, the voices always speak to you while talking to someone so I never quite got it what they said and they don't have any meaty combat disciples, sell me on them, I think Graust and Tourette are good Malkavian characters but don't feel like the playable malkavian represents them that well
Melee weapon progression? Is there any reason to not use the Tal'Ma'He Rah blade in the end, since to my knowledge, it is the only one to cause aggravated damage so the only one worth anything against bosses?
Meanwhile; even when you got 2 points in firearms (from books), you can use the Steyr AUGs you loot from SWAT in the final level to completely ground the chiropteran. I seriously think there is a balance issue. The worst firearms are never anywhere near as bad as the worst melee weapons or even your fists. While the best firearms are good even without investing the skills.
The Tal'Ma'He Rah blade is the best endgame weapon for Melee. There is a balance issue, but it's more an issue of scaling. Melee and unarmed are good at the start and firearms are weak, and by the end firearms are the best. The Steyr Aug is a very late game weapon you only get to use for a short amount of time.
The funny thing for me is mostly that I have played deliberately through the game 100% ignoring firearms, reading 1 - 2 books about them and maybe getting +1 from Romero in the graveyard, and I can still use looted Steyrs against the 'final boss' of the game with no problem. Try to do the reverse. IIRC you can get to around 3 melee for free if you did everything perfectly, but nobody can do that on their first run... and then try to attack the bosses with that amoun of total skill, your hits would bounce off them, because they have too high defense.
>The worst firearms are never anywhere near as bad as the worst melee weapons or even your fists
I disagree, I remember not being able to hit anything with a starting character who was specced in Guns so I just beat people to death.
Old-timers will probably still play and talk about it for the scenarios, and B2 will attract curious newcomers to it. Many might not be able to deal with the janky gameplay but some will, it is honestly pretty casual and accessible to new people when properly patched anyway.
Still, the following's attention will be more divided but I don't think B2 will obsolete it.
I misspoke. I meant the first firearms you get are completely worthless regardless of your skill points (well the shotgun is decent either way if you use it right), but the one thing you can always rely in the start is fists. So it has a funny curve. First guns suck no matter what, and using firearms at all only becomes convenient semi-late in the game, although, if you are fine with spending money, you can buy tons of ammo for the Glock in Downtown. It's not a bad gun, it's just nothing impressive either.
Oh, yes, that matches my experience completely, then.
maybe it was shitty art
Think we'll get grenades in the sequel? When I was skulking around invisible as Nosferatu I always wished I had some grenades for best sneak attacks
