>"There once was a time when Anthem looked to be positioned as the next big thing in gaming. It had impressive showings at E3, the pedigree of a celebrated studio like BioWare behind it, and a massive marketing campaign on the part of EA. This impressive curriculum made Anthem a point of attention even for other developers, especially Capcom."
>"A new report suggests that Kiichiro Urata, CEO of Capcom USA, contacted EA for a possible crossover between Anthem and the best seller Monster Hunter World. Just like previous collaborations appeared in Monster Hunter World, this in-game event would have featured creatures from both games making an appearance in the opposite title. For unknown reasons, EA declined the offer. "
Capcom dodged a bullet, but BioWare made sure the bullet hit them square in the head.

Man they really thought this game was hot shit huh

I was one of the few who actually enjoyed Anthem for the most part. I paid for Origin Access for one month tonplay it. It honestly was pretty fun but they never improved the game. They just simply abandoned it with broken loot. As someone who defended the game early in I can't even defend it post launch. Holy fuck they dropped the ball on Anthem so hard.
Tyler Bennett
Can't find this article anywhere on their site. Nice fake though.
Ryan Young
Cause EA is stupid
Isaiah Cooper
If I had to guess, Bioware/EA were too up their own ass and didn't want any events that would appear out-of-universe.
Western companies do that shit all the time. They're too pretentious to sacrifice the universe's image for fun, meanwhile Japs throw Final Fantasy characters into Monster Hunter and make a fucking Nier raid in their MMO.
Ian Cook
Maybe capcom demanded that said crossover items couldn't be in the form of a box with loot.
Elijah Davis
feminist at bioware rejected monsters hunters "sexist" female armor design
Camden Nguyen
Where's the source? I tried googling this, but this specific article does not show up in the search.
Oliver Cook
it's fake, sage
Cameron Sanders
The best of it is. With the likes of the Final Fantasy cross over when it came to the monsters both developers went to great length to choose iconic monsters and pulled out all the stops to make them at home in each others respective game. Overall a lot of respect both ways and it helped there images.
Jayden Clark
Good. The cohesiveness of the world and the creation of original content is more important than your retarded idea of "fun". The Nier raid in XIV is a good example of just how creatively bankrupt the devs are.
Asher Davis
Fuck you. You are still an idiot for defending this shit at launch.
Christian Hall
This was the last time I got hyped for a western game. Glad I didn't end up buying it.
Caleb Williams
I thought it was fun, fight me. I got $15 worth out of it.
Kevin Parker
This is the most likely answer.
Juan Nguyen
Yeah that worked out real well for Bioware, didn't it.
Luke Gray
This. Western games are all about being taken seriously, no fun allowed.
Aaron Johnson
western devs just keep shooting themselves in the foot when will they all move out of that shithole state California?
Jayden Gomez
How in the actual fuck did you manage to be hyped about it? Did you ignore everything everyone said about and every trailer and "gameplay" video they showed?
Christopher Peterson
Not the same user but if you're talking about the flying part, that is fun. But the game still doesn't feel well optimized, it has the same kind of story telling problem Destiny 1 had of expecting players to know a lot of whats going on, and it really does feel generic outside of some cool environment and creature designs, right down the the Joss Whedon-esque banter.
Levi Martin
>le fight me! XD! I bought anthem and it was epic!
based autistic westerner who values 'immersion' over fun
Levi Phillips
>Anthem monsters What?
Lincoln White
I don't know man, it just looked fun to play with my friends. I don't plan these things.
Angel Campbell
Everyone who couldn't immediately peg it as a massive failure at E3 is a retard. Nothing that isn't unusual is ever going to be popular.
Christian Lopez
EA knew Anthem would tank and didn't want to tarnish Monster Hunter's reputation
Noah Johnson
EA/Bioware put a ban on players having fun.
Angel Butler
It had a chance only because of graphixfags and because lootshooterfags are like crack addicts, always looking for their next fix or the perfect game thats 'just' right.
Wyatt Taylor
>google title >no article fuck off
Zachary Sanchez
Why? Why Capcom would even contact EA for that?
That's the question you should be asking. Why the fuck capcom even attempted to ask for it? It doesn't benefit them in the slightest. Good riddance that EA are fucking idiots and declined!
Hunter Lopez
>For unknown reasons Most likely they had absolutely no one free to work on this collaboration, considering they can't even get their own original content to anywhere approaching a good state for launch.
>There once was a time when Anthem looked to be positioned as the next big thing in gaming. false
Evan King
Your mom faked her orgasm when I fucked her and you think I give a fuck?
Brayden Rodriguez
You sure use big words to talk about a simple toy for children. I mean, sure, I think games are art, one another user thinks so too, but people that have power over Anthem - EA - see it as a toy made to suck money out of children.
Caleb Hernandez
>I think games are art Gay
Grayson Hernandez
>games shouldn't be fun
get a load on this faggot
Chase Cox
Collabs cost money. EA isn't going to spend a dime on resources to add content to a stillborn game. I'm honestly amazed the servers are even still up.
Levi Taylor
>no romances in Anthem >beta male virgin protagonist Freelancer Shoulda had romances BioWare
Bentley Richardson
>both developers went to great length to choose iconic monsters and pulled out all the stops >FFXIV involved in a collaboration Pick one and only one. The FFXIV event was such hot garbage. They reused assets from Allagan Gear and Leveling Gear to create "Rathalos" armor under the excuse of "This is what Eorzeans would make out of Rathalos parts", made the fight equivalent to the 1.0/2.0 Primals Hard Modes, no weapons and put more effort into the Rathalos mount assuming it wasn't ported over to the point that it looks out of place in the game. Monster Hunter World did a better job honoring the Behemoth Fight and the EX concept, making a HQ Gae Bolg and Drachen Set alongisde using the Dragoon's Dragon as a Kinsect. Plus they made Jump actually avoid damage like it should do . Honestly XIV created something very disrespectful towards the MH team when you compare the two events.
