0, Kiwami 1 and 2, 6... It says all there games take place in Kamurocho. Does the scenery get boring after a while? Thinking about buying all of them.
Does every Yakuza game takes place on the same map?

today I can't engrish, sorry
Yes, they mostly take place in the same areas (Kamurocho, Sontenbori etc). You will get burnt out if you play all of the games successively. I recommend starting with 0 and finishing it, taking a 4 month break then starting kiwami 1, again a break then 2.
Most games has Kamurocho plus another city
Yakuza 3 has Okinawa, 4 is Kamurocho only but expands the city vertically, 5 has 4 other cities
Yakuza is shovelware but the low IQ weebs on this board overrate them like crazy because they're Japanese. Only one game is worth playing, the rest are the same shit. Repetitive as fuck, mostly reused assets, so cheaply produced.
0 is Kamurocho (Tokyo) and Sotenbori (Osaka)
1/Kiwami is just Kamurocho
2/Kiwami 2 is Kamurocho and Sotenbori
3 is Ryukyu (Okinawa) and Kamurocho
4 is Kamurocho only but it now has a lot of verticality
5 is Kamurocho, Sotenbori, Nagasugai (Fukuoka), Tsukimino (Sapporo) and Kineicho (Nagoya)
6 is Kamurocho and Onomichi (Hiroshima)
Listen to this guy. I got burnt out on 0 right before what turned out to be the last hour of the game. Felt really stupid when I replayed it after the game having gathered dust for like half a year (or whatever time had passed between the release of 0 and Kiwami, because it was the only reason I bothered to finish it in the first place. Otherwise I'd probably have waited even more.
And of course I got burnt out on Kiwami too. Still haven't finished it.
Seriously space those games out, OP.
I can play them all back to back and not get bored. A few years ago I played 1, 2, 3, 4 all back to back. Then maybe a few weeks ago played and beat 5, 6, 0, back to back and am halfway through Kiwami 1 atm.
Same. But then again, I'm autistic and have literally no life whatsoever.
I'm surprised at how different Kamurocho feels like K2, I legit was lost
The writing and characters are what people like. You don't have to sound so angry that people enjoy quirky Japanese humor you personally don't 'get'. It's fine for them to get it and for you to not get it.
What does quirky Japanese humor have to do with the fact they reuse the same fucking map and minigames over and over and over for every fucking sequel?
Because some of the events take place in the same town.
cringe
What a couple of retards.
I played in release order with the only break being between Ishin and 6. I loved watching Kamurocho evolve. It's like a vidya home to me now.
They didn't all come out in a row, jagoff.
>they reuse the same fucking map and minigames over and over and over for every fucking sequel
You don't play Pocket Racer for the entire fucking story. It's there but you don't have to play it. You're literally bitching that each game keeps previous content while adding more. Kiryu and the town change as the years pass. Stores move, open, close, characters start out and end up owning their own places of business, families rise and fall in influence, many of us have watched this happen over the years as each game went on.

What's with newfags putting the first sentence of their post in the subject? Been seeing this recently.
Thanks guys!
They're minor alterations. These games are Call of Duty shovelware tier.
But it's JAPANESE xD SO KAWAII XD
It's hard for me to get burned out, kamurocho is practically my virtual downtown hangout and each game offers something slightly unique to do.
In currently playing them back to back and have played 1 and 2, 0, kiwami 1 and currently on kiwami 2. Might skip 3 since I've played it 3 times already. You dont get burnt out if you enjoy the games alot.
do you even get anything out of these posts? like do you feel, idk, satisfied, contributing nothing, brandishing your ignorant dick around in this way?
>Onomichi
You do know Onomichi is a real town right? Its not actually a recreation of Hiroshima.
God you're fucking dumb. The original games had 2 year spans between one another (or longer) except for Y3 and Y4 which were only a year apart. So if someone starts the series with 0, he'd have 3 Yakuza games to play within literally a year. It's not hard to get burnt out on that if you play them consecutively.
Well I do enjoy the shit out of Yakuza games and have bought Kiwami 2 but I have a strange feeling of not wanting to start it yet. Is
What's your impression of Kiwami 2?
>playing games in release order like a normal person is autism
okay then
Is it ok to skip 5? Heard it isn't as good as others.
I’m nearing the end of 0 and fatigue has set in big time. I dropped doing the side content because it’s repetitive and boring as hell. Also the insane amount of cutscenes are making me tired, especially because it’s just conversations withour anything interesting going on.
I will probably wait a long time before playing Kiwami.
Onomichi is a district of Hiroshima you dumb faggot, much like Kamurocho (Kabukicho) is a district of Tokyo etc.
Guys we swapped a few textures and NPCs is totally new game you see :^)))))))))
what the absolute fuck are you babbling about
>seething manchild ren
>Heard it isn't as good as others.
Who the fuck told you that? Its one of the best in the series.
5 is leagues better than all of the localized PS3 entries, and a huge step up over 4 and Dead Souls. Its so long though that it will feel like a chore if you try to 100% it,.
I said release order, not release dates, you dumbass.
I asked you a fucking question nigger. Do you get satisfaction from this? Now we're not discussing the game anymore, you get to make this all about you. Congratulations. I'm sure your mother is extremely proud.
He thinks that guy played the games as they released.
tl;dr he's an idiot
I'm in the exact same position as you. Played through ) to about chapter 10 got burnt out a little. Came back like 5 months later and finished it off. Jumped into kiwami right after and played through most of that (just finished that rooftop battle). It's been like 4 months since then I'll probably get around to finishing it off soon. I'm thinking of jumping into judge eyes when that releases next month before jumping straight into kiwami 2
have sex
>District
Hiroshima is prefecture you fucking mongoloid. there is a city of Hiroshima and a prefecture of Hiroshima. The way OP was bracketing them off in is implying the cities/districts were designed to mimic the cities.
Onomichi in Yakuza 6 is based of the actual town in real life.
Where did you hear that horseshit?
It has the most content, character, story, city and overall variety in the franchise.
If anything, it's the best game due to sheer amount of content and variety.
It's the LEAST recycled game with the most new assets ever made in the series history.
have sex incel
WHOA 3 GAMES IN A YEAR HOLY SHIT
nigger I literally just said I played 7-8 games in a row before taking a break, fuck is even your point here? I completed the entire series up to 6 within a year including all the spin-offs.
go fuck yourself with a rake if you can't play 3-4 games before your zoomer brain melts
>hurr durr op blew me out of the water with actual facts, now to call him names out retaliation for proofing how stupid i am.
Grow the fuck up user, and admit your mistakes and stupidity.
I swear this retarded meme needs to be banned.
I fucking hate Majima. How do you even explain this absolute downgrade? Did he lost it just because he got cucked? I just started K1 and the Majima system shit is making me want to stop
I'm playing on a basic ps4 so it has some frame issues and I wish skills and stances were the same as 0 and K1. Other than that the game looks amazing and plays ok. Story is still great and it doesnt have the annoyances of majima fighting you to unlock stuff. His construction mini game/Y6 gang battles is still shit though.
yikes
Mods never ban words that are directly against Yea Forums culture.
Yakuza threads are shit now, everyone keeps pointing out flaws or saying what they personally dislike about the games. It has killed all discussion. Thankfully I have a life outside of Yakuza threads on Yea Forums so this isn't a big deal.
oof, that will be a yikes from me, have sex incel
how many tines are you going to post this exact line
how powerful is your fucking autism
You fucking retards not getting the point that he was cucked before he became the absolute madman is always worth a laugh.
he's right though, threads are ruined because people feel fine with saying what they dislike about the games now
Personally I think Yakuza's one of the few games that tries to be cinematic that actually feels cinematic. Cheesy as it is I always like the scene leading up to the last Ryuji fight in 2 (and Kiwami 2) with the elevator going down and into the final fight with the soft, sad piano music instead of some shitty "epic" song. Good shit.
>waah no criticism pls!
Grow the fuck up
Kamurocho, home.
Are you sure you aren't thinking of 3?
Say the retard who couldn't pick up an obvious joke. I know he turned like this before finding out about chad.
The series has been going on for 10+ years, and the Kiwami remakes always have aspects that held them back. Its kind of fair game at this point.
Remember when FF15 DLC added Kamurocho?
The real estate in 0 is like an even worse version of the war council table from Dragon Age Inquisition, holy shit it sucks.
oh look, this post again
Samefagging is a sin, also fuck off people, have always nitpicked on these games since 3.
But hey, now we have a new audience to blame so who gives a fuck, GO SONY GO, FUCK PCFAGS.
I wish the managers had more character beyond their substories. Kiryu could've had some fine sukeban JK puss.
OP reporting in, that wasn't me tho
No he was cucked by slaving away in a Cabaret you retard. That whole Makoto thing was just the spark.
nobody cares about your shit game, stop trying to shoehorn it into unrelated threads
have sex incel
i get satisfaction from fucking your mom lmao. Now get back to your copypasted weeb games
What do you think Ichiban's fighting style is going to be like?
I'm expecting something along the lines of Thug mixed together with Brawler. Not as straight forward unga bunga as Kiryu's but also not as wacky and, well, thuggish, as Majima's.
>Substory in BP2 requires a jackpot in slots.
>Need to do this to fight Chaos.
At this point I'm fully expecting having to reach #1 in Sotenbori and #1 in Kamurocho's ranking boards just to fight him too.
Didn't they promote him as brawler? So I think of a more thought out and versitile moveset than Kiryus braw... Yeah exactly that.
what an ugly unfunny motherfucker
No Kiryu, no game. fuck sega and whoever came up with this shit character
Pretty sure he has a few like the nerd from Judge Assm
Judge Eyes when?
It's literally coming out next month.
Let him go bro, Kiryu-san has earned his retirement.
From what little I've seen of Ichiban, he already has much more personalty than Kiryu. Kiryu should've been benched after 2.
Then make it some cool guy, not a drug dealer
Daily reminder to stop replying to obvious shitposters.
Hide them and move on instead. Let’s try to make these threads slightly more bearable
It's always newfags to these threads they get with this, half of the shitposts are even little pastas by now.
Seriously the same fucking baits every single thread.
This. If you see a criticism, ignore it. And remember to warn others not to reply to criticisms or negative Yakuza posts. Together we can return to the glory days.
Ichiban seems cool.
shut the fuck up
Yes, most of the game's budget goes into the cinematics and voice acting/actors so they recycle a whole bunch of assets, especially the map.
so this... is the power... of moviegames...
and that's okay
I’ve played K2, DS, 5, 6, and FotNS all back to back and I’m still not burnt out, I’m 100%ing K2 right now
Think I’m just a turbo autist but I don’t think the “play these games in succession and you’ll get burnt out” rule applies to everyone, though I will admit it’s one of the best things to tell newcomers to the series
>Think I’m just a turbo autist
Most likely yes
Have you 100%ed K2 yet Moose? Do you know what the most annoying thing would be to finish the Completion List? I gave up on 0 because of the Climax Battles and JCC, though my save file getting deleted also didn’t help, but K2 doesn’t seem like it has anything quite as bad as those two
Which of the Yakuza games have the best combat?
I have, K2's one of the easier ones. Really the only annoying parts are golf (Just use a guide and save yourself from that hell, it'll still take multiple tries because you need seven or eight hole-in-ones on the Advanced difficulty), Virtua Fighter if you're not good at fighters though there are ways you can cheese it and I think an easy cabinet, Virtual-On beat level 3 can be a bit rough if you haven't grasped the controls yet, and then the bouncer missions.
Everything else is easy, Clan Creator is a walk in the part for most of it (Just make sure you use some rocket launcher guys to deal with mobs like The Florist and Jo Amon if you have access to him, I know there's a couple more, avoid the pistol guys), Four Shine is incredibly easy, getting all the weapons and armor is relatively easy it just takes some runs of Four Shine to get the money for it and some luck from the nouveau riche, and the rest of the minigames are just a couple tries until you get it down pat with mahjong obviously taking the longest due to needing like 12 wins on top of the tournaments.

Pic related. Best girl.
That’s good to know, I don’t know if Judgment has a Completion List similar to K2 and 6’s where you don’t have to do anything too crazy but it seems like they’ve really changed the difficulty of 100%ing these games for the better. 6’s Platinum doesn’t even require you 100%ing the CL, either, which is pretty nice. Still gotta learn how to play Mahjong though
Yakuza 0 is the peak of the series and is how all future games should be
>2 main characters that actually feel different instead of fucking 4
>4 different combat styles that are unique and are actually useful
>Story is grounded, plausible and actually makes sense instead of being full of dumbass plot twists
>Bosses are actually unique and can be challenging provided you play on the hardest level and don't use healing items
>Soundtrack is undeniably the best
>Best minigames, no contest.
Saki from Yakuza 6 made my dick explode
she looks retarded from the side
Why does she wears Daigo's clothes?
Really? I’m playing 0 right now and finding it really mediocre.
Probably shouldn’t bother with the rest of the series then.
When I was checking the list in-game and then looking at the trophies Judgment's mostly 6-tier on the list and you need to get 100% on KAMGO (The completion list) to get the platinum unless the English release changes it. One of the requirements is PuyoPuyo and the requirements are the exact same as in 6 meaning 30 wins in a row, but from what I could find I think it has an Easy cabinet this time so maybe the puffer fish, the multicolored kid, and the doctor won't destroy everyone. We had one guy who actually played it say drone racing is also disgustingly difficult because the time requirements require you to cut every corner, the drone has to have parts that make it really sensitive just to be at max speed, and something to do with opposing drones getting in your way at times.
5 and Ishin were the peaks.
Christ. Maybe I’ll just stick to 100%ing 6 and K2 then
>3 and 4
>better than 5
>not rating the original games, probably didn't play them
retard
Is put 4 on par with 5 but no way does 3 belong there. I’d say it’s worse than Dead Souls, too
He's right though.
bros i really wanna play 4 and 5 to play as my boy akiyama, PS4/PC fucking when???
You can play 4 and 5 on PSNow on PC, you just need really good internet to stream the games properly. Nobody seems to bring up the fact that you can do this but PSNow kinda sucks so I don’t blame them
>kiwami 2 under kiwami 1
are you retarded
kiwami 1 is so bland and empty, and for some reason is missing half of the mini-games that 0 had even though it was literally just supposed to be DLC for 0 at first
and no, original 1 releasing way before 0 is not an argument
K1 is literally a copy paste of 0 in everything but story, at the very least they could've copy pasted the fucking minigames
The mini games are trash who the fuck cares about them
what minigames
Almost everyone agrees Kiryu's story was done after 2. The only good thing to come out of him after that was having him as a boss in 4.
Literally everyone who plays these games.
This. The minigames are the best part. Everyone says so. You think the combat or the writing is the best part? You're kidding yourself, the combat and the writing is terrible. Minigames are a welcome distraction from the weaker elements of the series.
Wait I'm just starting 0 so 6 is a big skip? I'm buying these ahead of time.
buy them one at a time, retard. most people get sick of these games before they even finish 0
You must be absolutely braindead to believe this
pretty sure that was 5.
It probably would if you play them all immediately next to each other. I play one, play some other games, and then move to the next one and it's like going back to a holiday destination you enjoy.
no you do that as saejima in 4
It's for sure 4 because it's when Kiryu first meets him. He knew he was an escapee from prison and was testing him to see if he was going to help him.
ah ok, yeah it's been years i some how forgot that shit.
god damn the first time he tiger dropped me I shit bricks
kamarucho is more important to the yakuza series than kiryu hinself
5 is the best game in the series with the worse story
you get to fight him in both 4 and 5
Wheres the kiwami 2 mods?
>best game in a series of story based games, with the worst story
so it's shit
How the he'll did turn off the city lights? Is it explained latter?
money
if the games were purely story based then it could be, but since that's not the case, it's a good game.
they are purely story based
literally no one plays a yakuza game to spam square square square square triangle triangle for 40 hours straight
the gameplay is just filler between story sequences
I hear everyone talk about all the games... Except dead souls
Is it the lone shitty one?
But le minigames !
Well it's not a numbered yakuza game for one
you're purely retarded for believing that the story is the only reason people play these games.
last reply you'll be getting out of me, shitposter.
6 has hands down the worst story.
If you play Yakuza for the story, then you're doing it wrong.
go back
you need to actually have a PS3 to play that so I guess it excludes a lot of newfags
also I heard it ran badly
It's got a lot of issues. The framerate is pretty horrible, actually aiming is inferior to mashing R1 without aiming at all with one exception, the control scheme has camera controls on left stick when you aim, on Dead Souls difficulty you can get stunlocked to death, Ryuji's QZ is horrendous to traverse, a majority of the substories that are multi-tiered would be considered a short substory in the main game if put together, Amon is a cheap asshole yet he's incredibly easy at the same time, you have to run an infinite randomly-generated dungeon for about 200ish floors total over the course of all the characters, the characters themselves are only really differentiated by their unique weapon (Akiyama's is the best because Elise > Golden Gun any day of the week), QTEs are entirely based on difficulty and Dead Souls has some that are close to impossible without XMB buffering, and the story isn't really anything to write home about since it doesn't exist until the end of Kiryu's chapter.
However, it has a great Ryuji and Majima chapter, the hostesses are alright, the gameplay turns from clunky garbage to pretty fun once you get used to it, there's a decent variety of enemies and weapons, it has some fun fanservice for fans like Date and Arase being your buddies and running around helping you in the QZ, there are some funny substories (A certain hostess one, the Daigo one, one where Majima has to pass a zombie off as a sick yakuza clan leader, and a Kaoru one), and it's got a pretty silly premise in general.
It's super cheap nowadays, like $13 at most, and for that price I don't regret it at all and I love seeing how later games reference it (Judgment and BP2 have a minigame based entirely around it, there's that entire Majima bit in K1, and the Miracle Johnson substory in 0 has zombies spawn in the exact same spots as in Dead Souls). If you can handle its flaws and poor performance and just take it for what it is it's alright.
you're an honest to God mongoloid and also lying to yourself if you think yakuza has good combat and you aren't mainly playing it for the story
and you know that you're retarded too, literally being unable to back up your side of the argument and having to resort to "s-s-s-s-shitposter"
story and characters are the only reason to play it
combat has no depth and minigames are just (albeit fun) time wasters
>story and characters are the only reason to play it
>combat has no depth a
lmao fuck off
it's a zombie shooter spinoff, which is something that doesn't really sound appealing to a lot of people.
it tries to combine the conventional yakuza gameplay with a third person shooter, but the end results are sort of poor, and the game ends up becoming the most mindless yakuza game to play, since a lot of the time you can keep walking forward while holding the fire button.
game has a fuck ton of fps issues as well, and it's quite common for the fps to remain at 20fps and below in the majority of action sequences.
the whole premise of the zombies infecting the streets of kamurocho, and interacting with the yakuza is sort of interesting though, it even has RE like mutated monsters.
Stop replying to the shitposter.
I play for the minigames and silly substories. Who the fuck are you to dictate why people play?
Kind of funny that Saki Akai when she's wrestling as herself is kind of boring. When she's using the Sakisama gimmick in TJPW she's based as hell. Probably because it's anime as fuck.
If you like the repetitive gameplay, then it's not easy to burn out on them.
I did complete 0 and the complete Kiwami, subsequently feeling burned out, but Kiwami is very unambitious after 0 for obvious reasons.
It'd be cool if Judgment continues as a series if they do other areas of Tokyo just to change it up some.
nah fuck you, you're not getting away with that
what the absolute fucking shit are you talking about?
i can't imagine that they'd restrict themselves to just kamurocho for a sequel.
i feel like shin will at least have another city to visit.
How many new areas did they say would be in Shin? 2 different areas?
kek what was it
probably final fantasy
one of the producers said ichiban will visit new areas, but we won't know what kind until they do an official reveal for shin.
FUCKING WHEN GOD DAMN THEY SHOULD'VE SHOWN SHIT LAST YEAR REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>Millennium Tower has people blow it up and literally fly a helicopter to do a chaingun driveby to kill one person on top of having fights to the death on top multiple times throughout the series.
>But because one guy let a bomb explode in a small apartment it's time to effectively form your own police force that just beats the hell out of anyone who questions them and shuts down virtually anything to do with alcohol, cabaret clubs, stripping, and "gambling".
>The police force even attack random people on the streets in the name of peace, and these guys are trained in jujitsu and various other karate styles just to do this while armored to the teeth in riot gear.
I can only imagine what the politician who formed the KHS would do if he was around during 6, he would have had people executed on the spot for any reason.
Chances are this year considering they've been working on it since K2 came out if I remember right. There's no way it's not announced at TGS or potentially even E3 at this point considering how big the series ended up getting over here.
Sure though I wonder what they'd go with that hasn't already been covered in Yakuza. Yokosuka would probably be pretty interesting.
I played most of the Yakuza games and I know every back alley of Kamurocho like the back of my hand at this point. There definitely was burnout but now I find myself kind of wanting to play Judgement just to see how the city changed again and take nostalgic trips back to Serena and shit
>and these guys are trained in jujitsu and various other karate styles
That's actually not that ridiculous. Police in Japan are trained in a hand-to-hand system called taiho-jutsu which borrows techniques from a lot of other things (judo, aikido, karate, boxing, etc.) as well as stuff based around the police baton.
Huh, well you learn something new every day I guess. These guys have used jujitsu, a karate style from a dojo in the game, I think I saw one with Chinese martial arts, and another guy was using Muay Thai. I just find it crazy that after everything that's happened in the series it didn't merit a full shutdown of Kamurocho to this extent, but one small bomb causes everything to go to Hell in a handbasket. It took literally two days from the bomb going off and the politician announcing the KHS being formed to a full on secret police being formed.
Funny enough I'm listening to a podcast on Japanese history and actually just listened to a couple episodes of it that cover the Japanese police force a few days ago so it was top of mind. Apparently the police there, at least at one point, had to also take lessons in traditional Japanese arts i.e. flower arranging, tea ceremony and such and largely you had to have a college degree to get into the police because it was seen as a pretty middle class job, not something low IQ dummies go into.
Play 0 and then play the best entry in the franchise.
That sounds pretty neat. Name of the podcast?
Moose tell me about our lord Akiyama
History of Japan
Episodes have some really rough audio quality early on but if you can bear it it's really good once he starts finding his footing. Neat thing is that it does an overview of Japanese history from around the time of Wa until the present over the first few episodes, then it switches into being about specific topics so you can just kind of skip around if there's stuff that doesn't interest you (i.e. I don't really care about religion so I skip over anything related to Buddhism and whatever). The multi-part series are probably the best, especially the ones about the Meiji Restoration, the US/Japan relationship, the Occupation and the development of Tokyo and the random neat one offs like the history of the Japanese space program.
Surely you’re not serious
all four characters in 4 and 5 had totally different combat styles, what are you talking about? Are you seriously going to tell me that akiyama's fast and mobile air-combo style felt like saejima's slow ultra heavy style?
did he say new areas? in plural? with no translation ambiguity? I want to believe SRGG will be the best and biggest game they've ever made
I am serious.
And don't call me Shirley.
I mean the last time we went this long without a mainline game was when 0 was released so hopefully Shin is just as good as that was
They probably want to get Ichiban right considering they're leaving Kiryu behind and I sincerely doubt they want to have their tail between their legs and bring him back if Ichiban doesn't do too well embarrassing everyone. I imagine that's why they did Judgment, it's because they want to test out mechanics they're working towards implementing in Shin. I also imagine Online is being used to eke out people's opinions for Ichiban there as well. He's got big shoes to fill and the game, likewise, has some standards to live up to.
He's a cool dude with a nice girlfriend.
Yakuza 5 barely takes place in Kamurocho, which is a disappointment to some, but a positive for others.
Only the final stretch of the game takes place in Kamurocho, as well as only like 3 substories (Despite Yakuza 5 having the largest substory count in the series) since it's just a staging area for the final events of the game.
The rest of the game takes places in the 4 other cities that appear.
G-G#-A#-G#5
0 had 0 new areas so that's no proof of anything
Why does Kiwami 2's combat feel so dumbed down?
It's like they made the game around throwing ragdolls everywhere. I can either combo, throw, or combo into throw it seems. No moves that really fit with the beast or rush style either. It's like a slightly more expanded brawler moveset
It's the new engine gremlins they always seem to have trouble working through until they have a few games under their belt.
Are 0 and Kiwami the only other games you’ve played? Just asking
yes
Well you’re probably going to think every single game in the series that isn’t those two is dumbed down then
youtube.com
Majima stuff in K2 is kind of eh but goddamn is that song great.
It's a pretty normal moveset for the series. There's now charge attacks (I think Kiryu had them in 5 if I remember right), you can sway multiple times in a row when you could do two at most with Kiryu, I think Akiyama could do three or four, there's sway attacks, you can implement charges into combos, you can use grabs to clean the area around you or throw people away, etc.
The combat definitely feels off a bit because of the enemies bouncing you when they block and your attacks sometimes feeling less hefty (I'm still not a fan of how light the attacks feel sometimes and the impact only comes into play when you get blocked) but Judgment has improved that quite a bit (Though a bit too much in the heavy direction). Take 6 and K2 as their test games more or less. It's a new engine, they're still ironing things out and adding content to flesh it out. Kenzan and 3 went through the same ordeal with 3 improving on most of Kenzan's flaws and adding new stuff.
Judgment is already improving in strides though it's still got a few problems to iron out (Namely the enemies still having the bouncing guards) but it's bringing back some older things like the glass guards and adding new stuff like wall running and leaping over/sliding under enemies to mix things up. It'll probably take Shin to finally see the true potential of the engine, but it's slowly getting there.
have sex
So after playing through kiwami 2 I got a question: How the hell does Kaoru get written out of the story? Kiryu and her said they love each other in this game but then they somehow forget and go their separate ways in the next game? What the heck man.
At the start of Yakuza 3, Kaoru says she's leaving to go to America
yes that's literally it. she says that then just disappears forever
The writers needed to contrive another way to get Kiryuu back in the game.
Immediately at the start of 3 she says she's getting relocated to America. You get e-mails from her for the completion list but that's the last interaction with her. Later in 5 the detective mentions that her fling with a yakuza member destroyed the Osakan police's reputation so she had to be taken as far away from there as possible for them to retain any sort of reputability.
It's okay. I don't know what it is about FotNS that stops it from having truly great games though. I love the series to death but something about it just doesn't translate to vidya.
That said I didn't mind the OCs. Lyra is too good.
>Kiryu’s dick ruined the Osakan police department
Based
I really hate video game writing so much. gosh dang it.
>her fling with a yakuza member destroyed the Osakan police's reputation
Ok that seems kind of reasonable though likely an afterthought they had games later.
I dunno, I just wanted a game where I could unleash the full wrath of Hokuto Shin Ken on a bunch of unsuspecting Mad Max characters while also being the world's manliest bartender, and I got exactly what I wanted. The manga fanservice and cameos from pretty much every VA of a major character in the last few games were just a cherry on top.
I do wish the driving wasn't awful without having to apply every single upgrade.
Not gonna spoil anything but the man who tells you the Osakan police had their reputation ruined isn’t exactly perfect either, in fact he’s like 100x worse than Kaoru so I feel like they threw that line it to answer people who were rightfully wondering why the fuck she never came back
Actual 5 spoilers, don't read other guy.
I thought he bought out the Osakan police and used them while he held his chairman position in the Omi? The only reason he could buy them out was because of Kaoru's fling with Kiryu. They needed money and he provided it while making them corrupt from the inside. He's an awful man, sure, but outside of lying about being a detective (Unless I didn't follow the conversation correctly but I think I did) his reasoning for getting into the police makes perfect sense and it's pretty trustworthy information since why would he lie about that specific fact?
Kiryu needs to be depressed and sad and tired Kaoru gets in the way of that despite the fact that Yakuza 3 was shit and Kiryu himself takes a backseat in 4 in favor of other characters
I really wasn’t paying attention to most of 5’s plot so forgive me, all I know is that the writers thought that Arai being a detective wasn’t retarded enough so they made the fucking Omi chairman one too
yes he was implying that Kabukicho was the entirety of Tokyo.. if he was implying prefectures than why didn't he say (Shinjuku), faggot.
btw the "he was implying Kabukicho was the entirety of Tokyo" was sarcasm.. thought I should mention before your autism kicks in.
Is this guy the biggest cuck in yakuza?
>cameos
That's one of the issues I have. It feels like for the most part the established characters are just there for poorly reasoned fanservice. They come in to do a variation of the thing they're famous for in the manga then peace out. Being an alternate continuity it would've been cool if they just went in new directions for them.
That said I wouldn't mind a sequel down in the PS3 style of multiple protagonists i.e. Kenshiro, Rei and, I don't know, Juza and Fudoh
Why the hell does the Nishiki clan still exist in yakuza 3
Everyone evil ends up in there somehow
Good taste in women but yeah. Shame they dumped Yayoi after Y2 because she was a great character and it's not like Daigo actually did any better as Tojo leader. Should've been Kashiwagi who got the spot.
god I fucking hate Yakuza 6 with a passion what a pile of garbage that tries to be 3 and somehow is even worse
You just want more sfm porn of Yayoi and know that her being featured more would make that possible
Apparently so. Saints Row barely got away with it, not once but twice.
Nope, Yayoi's just legit one of my favorite characters in the series. She actually has a more commanding presence than most of the family heads and that includes her useless son.
I need tips on the cabaret on K2
where do i get platinum hostesses cause the ones i have are all bronze and suck, should i just stick with this ones or what?
Oh. Well I want her featured more for the sfm porn
substories
Thoughts on baba-chan?
Platinum Hostesses are part of the Four Shine story. Golds are from substories, I believe silver and bronze were either from Four Shine tertiary missions and substories or you could buy them, I'm not 100% recalling which it was. I know for sure gold and platinum are correct though. Ono Michiyo and ko are fine through the whole game, and keep in mind that bronzes are just as good as platinums as long as you use Fever as they make the same amount of money when that's happening.
You get almost all the hostesses via scouting in the menu. Platinums you get via beating each rival. There's only a few you get through substories but most of them barring The Headmistress (who has shit HP) don't come until late in the game so unless you're holding off on doing the Four Shine stuff until you're close to the end of the story don't worry about them.
Basically just keep scouting and just do the easier leagues to beef up your hosteses before challenging the champion. Even some of the bronzes are alright depending on the league. Love is great in the first one, Marilyn II and Tanpopo will be alright to have in the second in case of emergencies and so on. You don't really need to rely exclusively on all of your top ones outside of battles.
Plenty of the Silvers and Golds are fine too. I did pretty fine running with ones like Seiko, Serina, Maeda, Mariko and such a lot.
Does not respect baseball/10.
How is this scene going to be handle in the remastered version now that we live in a sjw clown world?
Dilate
look at this baldass nigga
holy seethe
>No Kiryu, no game
literally been the main character of six (6) games and two (2) spin-offs, you are retarded to be complaining
I like ichiban because his hair slightly reminds me of tatsuhiko's from the shinjuku swan manga.
Kiryu is like Phoenix Wright. They are going to try to get rid of him or just make him a side character but we all know that won't happen.
I really want a delinquent RGG spinoff but set in the '80s so it can go all in on the Rokudenashi Blues/Bakuon Rettou/etc. style. The PSP games don't really fill that niche.
>You will get burnt out if you play all of the games successively
this is false
i played K1, 0, K2 and then 6 one after another. pretty much only games i played for 2 months straight and the only thing stopped me from playing more is the rest not being availiable on PC or PS4
>going through yakuza 0s bgm.cpk
>find a really high quality version of Yakuza 2s theme
>mfw
Now im also finding Yakuza 3's and 4's.
And a low quality Y5s japaese intro theme.
Probably not nearly as exciting as Jackie Chan in Judgement
Did Japan enjoyed judgement?
yes
Nice
