The only definitive version here is SMB2. SMB1 and LL have busted physics, and SMB3 is soulless compared to the NES and even GBA version

I keep hearing this but what exactly was wrong?
It's just OP having autism.
There's a single bug where your vertical momentum goes upwards instead of downwards when you break a brick block, and it can even be patched out: romhacking.net
Otherwise the physics are exactly the same because the code was copy-pasted from the NES originals to all stars
fantastic
Do you think we will ever see SMB5?
>The only definitive version here is SMB2.
Fuck you, this is kino.

I'm so conflicted.
fuck you goddammit
>namefagging
??????????????
Yeah SMA is fucking great but it's really it's own thing
It's obviously based on SMB2 but there's so much new shit it can't really be considered a port
HERE, HAVE SOME BOMBS
>gba game with good music
Wtf kind of black magic did they use?

>namefagging
are you retarded
Well, Mother 3 also had good music
I wanna say it's because Nintendo knew the hardware, but then you get shit like this:

>GBA
>soul
WOOHOO, JUST WHAT I NEEDED is the definition of soulless
meant to reply to
You mean like a true 2D mario game? Probably never unless nintendo follows copies sega with "mario mania".
Gameplay wise NSMB DS is pretty much SMB5
>is soulless
Not an argument and never was. Opinion automatically discarded.
NSMB DS is a great game, don't judge it for the sins of its children

Nintendo knew the hardware, but the hardware was kind a garbage. For something that was more or less a portable SNES the sound certainly was lacking. though the thing would have been a lot more expensive for them to put a comparable sound chip to the SPC-700 in that small a form factor
the multiplayer is kino, set it to 10 stars and 3 lives and you basically have mario deathmatch
Oh yeah the fucking multiplayer is the best part
Ice level 4 lyfe nigga, my best friend since childhood and I still play it from time to time
It really is. Wii changed the series a lot
>tfw grew up with All Stars
>took me 10 years and the Internet to find out all games were remasters from NES ones
SMAS' SMB1 feels wrong even beyond the graphics. SMB3 I heard also has weird physics but you can't claim SMB3 is "soulless" while GBA is okay with the same game but the low-sampling-rate Mario stock voice.
Took me a bit to notice, but he's right.
idk something about the music and graphics of the GBA version feel... sharper?
