If classic pc games is what you want, I could recommend old RTS games like Starcraft, Warcraft 3 or the Command & Conquer titles, I don't remember if the Dune games aged well.

If western rpg games is what you're interested you can try Diablo, Fallout, Baldurs Gate, Arcanum, Planescape Torment or Neverending Nights

If you want classic shooters you can try Doom, Blood, Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior or Quake.
That's not even counting emulation, modding and the fact that any new title will run better than on console if the port isn't shit and even then the community might provide a fix before the devs do.
