Holy shit go outside

But Morrowind was literally Todd's game.
He worked much less on Oblivion and Skyrim.

Oblivion = Morrowind >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Skyrim

Oblivion and Morrowind are great for very different reasons, though.

Pretty accurate.

Finally! someone gets it.

Oblivion is irredeemable garbage. Skyrim is shit, but at least it still makes a decent sex simulator.
Morrowind is the best in the series.

Skyrim for "gameplay" and modern mods.
Morrowind for being an RPG.

Oblivion is fucking garbage and mods dont fix it.

where the fuck did all you little incels obsessed with garbage sex mods for skyrim come from? fuck off and kiss a girl.

What if I kiss girls and want sex mods?

Oblivion has the best quests and DLC in the series. If one were to fix its leveling issues and give it the depth of setting that Morrowind had, it'd easily be the best in the series. Morrowind has worse gameplay but a far more interesting setting.

It also has tons of garbage quests user.
Dont pretend your few examples are the entire game.

The objective list

Every ES game has tons of garbage quests. Oblivion has the most quests that stand out from the garbage across all 3 modern ES titles.

Modded Morrowind >> Modded Oblivion > Oblivion = Morrowind >>> Modded Skyrim >> Skyrim

>Oblivion has the most quests that stand out from the garbage
I replayed it last year user.
You can "finish" a towns quests so quickly its a joke as far as content is concerned and the gates are just awful to top it all off.
Having 5 more good quests than the others does not make up for having worse literally everything else.

Anyone who puts Skyrim above Oblivion is a braindead hyperconsumer NPC

Oblivion's quests are way overhyped these days. I get it - modern RPG design is trash and makes Oblivion look better in hindsight - but Oblviion's quests really aren't that good or remarkable when looked at on their own. Contemporaries and games earlier than it both had much more to offer.

>his cant handle objective truths because nostalgia
It was shit even compared to other RPGs.
Literally the only things it had going at the time was world size, physics on clutter, and npc routines.

Its got laughable content, awful level and world design, and garbage mechanics all the way down to the scaling of everything around you.
Its a chore to play and actively removes enemies from the world as you level up to the point that without mods you are better off not even playing the game properly at all especially thanks to "efficient leveling" still being a thing from morrowind.

I really don't understand Morrowind fags, the game was great for the time, with the full 3d and the open world and the freedom, but other than that it was pretty bad, and it definitely hasn't aged well, it's a trainwreck by today's standards and is pretty much unplayable in its vanilla state

Oblivionfags are even worse, Oblivion does literally nothing that one of the other two games doesn't do better, except for the music and atmosphere

Skyrim is modernized and watered down from its roots, but at least it's fucking playable and doesn't feel like wrestling a greased up hairless bear

they were all fun, vanilla skyrim included. People act like every game has to encompass every single thing ever to be enjoyed. It was Fallout 4 (which also was fun) where they started a bad taste in my mouth with the voiced PC and every dialogue option being the same

>efficient leveling
>NPCs literally spamming magic as 'training'

It's not a game breaker, its a feature!

Because it has enough stuff and tools to make checking it all out fun, vanilla is borderline unplayable but with qol mods its still decent enough.
Oblivion has some stuff but obliterated all the tools we used to make amazing characters and ruined the world scaling so its pretty hard to stomach in any form.

Skyrim has shouts and mods I guess

Skyrim:
>Join mages guild
>YOU ARE THE CHOSEN ONE, YOU MUST go into this dungeon and kill the draugr
>Kill 30 draugr
>YOU ARE NOW THE ARCHMAGE, DESPITE NOT KNOWING A SINGLE SPELL PAST NOVICE LEVEL

Yet even the normally boring random side quests you find in towns are distinct and memorable. Take Bravil for example. In that shitty town alone you find:

- A quest where you get trapped in a fort and have to take part in a sick game where rich people pay to kill defenseless captives.
- A quest where you help the spirit of a sailor find rest.
- A quest where you have to go into someone's nightmare and figure out how to free him from his sleep through various unconventional means.

3 memorable quests in one town. In Skyrim half the quests random towns people give you are "I lost X in Y, please go get it. Oh and mind the Draugr." Most of them don't even count as quests, they're all in the Misc tab. Morrowind has the benefit of having more side quests, some of which are kinda memorable (the naked Nord, for example), but many of them are extremely short and involve like 1 - 3 steps at most. Far too many of them are shitty escort quests, too.

Not to mention, Oblivion's questlines are pretty easily the best in the series. Even a questline you'd expect to be really mundane, like the Fighter's Guild, has twists and interesting bits to keep it from just being a straight rise through the ranks. Morrowind's questlines have the advantage of different guilds coming into conflict, but the actual questlines themselves aren't as interesting, while Skyrim's just fucking sucked in comparison to the other two.

I will say, Oblivion's main quest was relatively shitty. Morrowind easily has the best main quest of the three.

if skyrim had spell creation like oblivion, enchants for spell duration and damage, and a full unarmed skill and talent tree, it would unironically be the best in the series by a large margin

Lets be fair every TES game is made to be modded.Thats part of the experience.

>3 memorable quests in one town
Morrowind did far better in that aspect and even skyrim is comparable in its big towns

Why are oblivionfags so desperate to cling onto the one thing they have to the point of making shit up?
The guild quests are good but I miss having to actually do real work to rise through the ranks like in morrowind. Combine the two and you got best guilds.

youtube.com/watch?v=qC9Ri2hZsos
just posting the best background music.

I just want Morrowind's environments, story, writing, and magic system in Skyrim's engine. RELEASE SKYWIND YOU LAZY FUCKERS.

solid list

Morrowind will always be my favorite. There isn't a single rpg out there with a setting and lore like Morrowind. The atmosphere is palpable. I get why someone wouldn't dig it due to the gameplay, but the dice-roll combat never bothered me, and I played through that shit via the xbox version on my 360. Still love it.
Honestly, it might just be my favorite game.

When are we getting sex mods for Daggerfall Unity anyway!?

Morrowind is the only RPG on that list

>get insanely rich
>just pay masters for training
Felt good being able to dump all that cash into something I actually wanted.
Trading for insane enchantments was fantastic

t. Zoomer with faggot taste

I'm about to make a controversial opinion here.

Morrowind >>>>>>>>>> _Skyrim__ >>>>> Oblivion__

I think thats a pretty common opinion.Which I also share

Attached: 51749393_320410078585836_1287718187774703568_n.jpg (640x640, 65K)

You know NPCs don't actually level, they spam magic because it makes sense in lore for training purpose. I actually felt the oblivion mages guild NPCs doing things like summoning scamps frequently added character and made it feel alive, like the game mechanics weren't just game mechanics.

I see many people ass ravaged when Oblivion is called the worst ES game.
IMO the world is so fucking boring in it, the game play lacks the depth of earlier titles but the more action feel of Skyrim. It really excels at nothing. Sure, there is mods, but better mods exist for both Morrowind and Skyrim, so it loses there too. The game really dosn't have much going for it.

>Morrowind did far better in that aspect and even skyrim is comparable in its big towns

Wrong on both accounts. Give me examples. Also not that it's a full replacement for Morrowind actually needing you to level skills, which I liked, but the Thieves Guild in Oblivion does have the independent thieving requirements.

I have yet to hear any good arguments for why Skyrim is better than Oblivion overall. I'm convinced it's just because people who loved Morrowind and played it first were reminded a bit more of Morrowind's tone when playing it when compared to Oblivion.

>Oblivion chads easily the winner for most diseases
how will old fags and skyrimfags ever recover from proof that oblivion is the greatest game?

>Oblivion
>Gameplay is a downgrade in all regards over Morrowind and Daggerfall
>Skyrim at least brought a more actiony combat with dragon shouts, etc so it has it's own flavor (even if Skyrim is not a great game it self)
>Has the most boring world setting of all ES games, literally just generic fantasy and castles land
>Main story is lame as shit and ends in an awful FMV
Skyrim is a forgettable mediocre game, but Oblivion sucks.

>mfw oblivichads and morrobrads beat daggerfags again
no... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NOT THE DISEASES AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH PLEASE STOP

Attached: 1514005100738.jpg (356x425, 33K)

It has some really stand out quests, which almost makes it better than Skyrim though.

this is the only legit answer.

>Gameplay is a downgrade in all regards over Morrowind and Daggerfall
Being less complex doesn't always mean worse. Oblivion's gameplay fixes much of what Morrowind's did wrong (slowness), though Skyrim's melee combat is arguably the best in the series, I'll admit that much. Oblivion has the best integration of magic into combat out of any of the main three, though.
>Skyrim at least brought a more actiony combat with dragon shouts, etc so it has it's own flavor (even if Skyrim is not a great game it self)
>Has the most boring world setting of all ES games, literally just generic fantasy and castles land
Oblivion does have its own flavor, you can see it in much of the NPC dialogue, though it really didn't come out until the Shivering Isles DLC. It has a humor to its delivery not in the other games. You could argue this is me reading into stuff where there's nothing there, but the other games don't have characters like Oblivion's Arena blademaster or the Dark Brotherhood Khajiit who insults you constantly. You're right about the setting though - not that Skyrim's is much better.
>Main story is lame as shit and ends in an awful FMV
Yea, agreed, honestly.

Skyrim is worse than Oblivion for the following reasons:
>The magic system got basically neutered; no spellmaking, way less effects, overall you can't be nearly as creative with it
>Guild questlines are far more boring
>The cities have far less visual distinctness, half of them have exactly the same aesthetic just in different environmental settings
>Fewer memorable side quests; the "Go kill some Draugrs" stereotype for Skyrim quests is a bit exaggerated but not entirely, there's serious problems with repetitiveness
>There are literally hard barriers to certain stats like Magic Resistance for no good reason due to Bethesda's hamfisted attempts to prevent overpowered end-game characters, which failed anyway due to a number of exploits
>Lack of classes

I could go on.

Attached: Oblivion 2019-03-16 20-23-36-805.jpg (1024x768, 103K)

Fair enough, I'll give it that. Oblivion does have good lore aspects and story lines peppered across it, but the game as a whole is I guess what I was speaking of. I find Oblivion really frustrating that way in that there is good content there but its under the layers of everything else that is bad.
I'd only really recommend it to the most hard core of ES fans to get that extra lore+quests that are cool

Skyrim > Morrowind >>> Oblivion

Why does people modding games in the ways they want make you angry?

>Toad Howard
Kek

Oblivion has the most amount of garbage quest of all three. Playing fedex for mages, having to sell X mount of gold of stolen forks 10 times to get into the thieves guild, closing those boring ass oblivion gates which are all the same. It's all very generic and very boring.

Does Todd Howard Toddpost?

Attached: chad thundercock.jpg (484x388, 25K)

y

Most obvious troll thread of the day. Congrats

>The cities have far less visual distinctness
Did you play Oblivion? The cities are insanely samey outside of the Imperial City. Skyrim's little towns all had the same flavor, but the major cities are all WAY more visually distinct than anything in Oblivion.

Pretty much everything else you said is correct, but god damn that one is gymnastics.

Attached: ops.meme_.nba_-1024x768.jpg (1024x768, 89K)

Man, this is probably the worst opinion I've ever seen. Congrats.

>Playing fedex for mages
Yea, Mages Guild is easily the weakest in Oblivion. Boring quests overall and disappointing final fight.
>having to sell X mount of gold of stolen forks 10 times to get into the thieves guild
Huh? You steal a diary or a sword to get into the Thieves' Guild. Unless you mean the independent thievery quests, in which case you'd have to be a terribly boring person to have done them that way.
>closing those boring ass oblivion gates
Almost completely optional, and there aren't so many that are mandatory that it becomes too repetitive. Though I know, they could've really been better.

Attached: 1520642851988.jpg (1920x1080, 590K)

I've tried playing Oblivion three times.
I've played the shit out of morrowind and have enough hours in skyrim to have feasibly done everything

But oblivion just seems... sloggy. The environment isn't as immediately enchanting as morrowind. At least skyrim looks okay

So I spent the last two days loading a bunch of graphics mods, and maskars oblivion overhaul (Cause OOO didn't like a bunch of my graphic mods)

I've finally gotten it to a playable state. Loaded it up, got out of the dungeon...

and now I'm bored. Give me an idea of what I should do first.

Imagine seething so hard about a sex simulator. Have some soi.

Skyrim with LOTS of mods > Morrowind > Oblivion > vanilla skyrim

They are all worse than Gothic 2

true

No I don't

... What? Every city in Oblivion had a distinct layout and architectural style. Every single one. Skingrad had the High Medieval looking stonework with upper levels of buildings jutting out over lower levels, Bruma had Nord-esque architecture with smaller homes built for warmth, etc. Do you want me to post pictures or something?

Attached: Oblivion 2018-11-15 12-52-40-273.jpg (640x480, 319K)

Pick a town and live there.
Join a guild.
Fuck the MQ unless you like exploring samey lava realms.

OP is right, boomers

I mean he deoesn't haha

>started the series in 2005 or so with morrowind
>thought oblivion>skyrim>morrowind for the longest time
>recently worked up the will to replay morrowind properly after failing many times
>now thinks morrowind>oblivion>skyrim
Now I know why so many people think that. TES certainly got better gameplay, and graphics with time, but lost something with oblivion, I can't really describe it, but it's too much streamlined now

Attached: 158.png (447x378, 11K)

>huh it's not the quests that are shit, it's you for doing them in the first place!
Flawless logic kiddo
