Zangief types are usually slow and need to walk you down. Be a wall that can only ignore so much, but mostly needs to walk and block. Ladiva looks somewhat faster and the dodge might deal with projectiles well

Also, Urias Formonde from Shadowverse, he'd be a melee character that has limited specials and can damage himself, but when he gets to half health or lower he unlocks more specials, some of which can heal him.

Does anyone else think Vermeil could be a nice addition to the game? They can make him work similar to the RPG where he gets permanent echoes as long as he avoids damage, so maybe something like a constant Seiei Enbu until you hit him.
