Let me say this here, FFXIII was infinitely superior compared to XIII-2 and especially compared to that steaming turd XIII-3 turned out to be.
FFXIII had god tier graphics, god tier music, the story was actually good, the characters were all likeable, and the game being linear also meant it was perfectly tuned to reward strategy and team building. And it wasted minimal time in pointless bs, shitty minigames, pointless exploration of convoluted dungeons with braindead puzzles, shopping for weapons nonsense, idiotic npc conversations, weird fuck crafting mechanics, needing to grind, and so on.

It trimmed all the bullshit that makes modern jrpgs unbearable. Of course though they had to listen to fucking hikikomoris who wanted muh exploration like muh old games and shit like that and we got those abomination that were FFXIII-2 and 3 with shitty exploration, unbalanced combat, weird as fuck stories, shitty casino minigames, and so on.
