It never stops working, no matter how many timea I see games do it. An exceptional trope.
It is among the golden rules of literature as well. It is called the circle. In writing or media, the story is fulfilling to the consumer if it ends with a hint of the beginning. Think of many popular stories that end with the hero returning to where they started or in a situation that mirrors the circumstances of when they first started the journey.

>Get some power-of-friendship powerup or something
>Title theme starts playing
> main theme segways into the final boss theme
> final boss of the first game is being fought at the same exact time as the final boss of the 2nd game
> they both have similiar themes
> mashed together they sound as if they belonged as one
They did that for the final boss of Raidou 2, but it was the opening theme from the first game and it was also shit because it was just the unaltered version of the song and it would constantly end and loop because it wasn't made to be heard on loop but they used it that way anyway.

This sounds like Xenoblade, but I've never heard of the themes sounding as one. Link?
Nice ESL, faggot.
Yeah no that's just good editing. The second theme is sped up.

Tales of Xillia 2 did it and it was the hypest moment in the entire Tales series
>True final boss is Biesly, who turns out to be insanely strong
>Luger is pushed to finally go into his final form
>Tales of Xillia 2's theme gets remixed for the final battle youtube.com
>Luger finishes the fight with his true ultimate attack
The last fight in that game was all the best parts of anime that JRPG seem to have forgot. ToX2 is underrated as fuck.
Should be "fuck off"

>final boss theme is a mild remix of the title theme
Now that's the stuff.
