The issue with most smaller games is that they likely aren't popular enough to have community following or garner active discussion on Yea Forums or a general on /vg/. You kinda just have to suck it up. Reddit isn't great for quality analysis discussion but the guides there are fine.

Pretty much.
There are problems people have with how the site in general works. Votes work to censor unpopular opinions to the bottom of threads, and promote a shitty joke culture that just tries to come up with shitty one-liners instead of actual discussion.
That's not to say that's how the entire site is, I'm sure there are good, niche communities as long as they don't grow too large.
Yea Forums has all opinions at equal weight, but there are still joke posts and off-topic shitposting. It's just an issue of the community you find in each site. Reddit's fucking huge, it's a bit dumb to throw away the entire site because some of it's bad. Some of Yea Forums's bad too.

At that point I'd rather not talk about the game at all. Reddit is literally the most awful place to discuss games. If it's not dumb unfunny memes or progressive soapbox "fuck Drumpf" posts, its circle jerking, dev cock sucking and otherwise gay corny shit. Plus the mods are almost always faggots that are full of themselves.
