I play on 30 fps to fix it but then sometimes just crash out, I play at like 65 degrees max load and then suddenly the performance for a second SPIKES to 100 degrees instantly closing the game.

I play in 2k and it easily keeps the promised 60fps, then I start beating up people in a shop and the amount of shit flying all over the screen makes it go nuts, it drops to 15 fps and never recovers (until I alt-tab twice)

2080ti SLI can run SSAA above 60fps no problem and even better performance in Nvidia DSR.
1080ti SLI in this game gets 40-50fps in SSAA mode so it should be in the 50fps+ mark for DSR

I'm playing at unlocked framerate and the ragdoll physics definitely do fuck up at higher framerates, though it's more funny than anything. Watching enemies or Kiryu spin and get launched around the room after a heavy attack is an entertaining watch

The problem is this game isn't officially made for SLI but for some reason it just works, maybe devs were testing it during development and then decided it wasn't an important task so since only very little gamers use SLI.

Do I need to post my PSN ID to show you that I played the 3-4-5 and 0? I can't prove that I played 1 and 2, but I have played them ages ago on PCSX2 to prepare myself for 3 on the PS3, so I played the entire mainline series.

Maybe the problem is the endlessly recycled content in these games. Kiwami seems to be 100% recycled content from 0 so far. They even have the same shitty car minigame and recycled the Cat Fight into something that at first seemed cool but ended up being shallow like every all the other minigames. I'm also still mad that they locked the classic combat style behind bullshit like they did in 0 in Kiwami too. I don't really remember how Majima was introduced in the original because I played it 10+ years ago but it surely wasn't in this dumbfuck way.

Also I still have to play 6, but I heard the story is pretty bad and from all the webms I've seen of that game the combat system is wonky as fuck.

I'm currently playing Kiwami 1, am I retarded or the game is way harder than 0 on hard? Also, am I still retarded or the Rush combat style is pretty damn useless this time around? I always get my ass handed to me with Rush style, while Brawler is the only viable one (Beast is only viable if there are large objects to swing around).

Nah you're pretty right. Rush does very little damage, and Beast is significantly slower, does less damage, has less armored moves, and staggers/stuns/interrupts enemies less. Brawler just seems to be the best style in K1. I understand nerfing Beast style because that shit was OP in 0, but they made it damn near useless without bikes nearby. And even then it's not very easy to use. Nerfing Rush at all makes no sense to me, it was niche even in 0. Now Brawler is just flat out superior in all circumstances.

It's harder than 0 because enemies now knock you down during multiple portions of their combo instead of just their finisher hits so you're on the ground a lot more. Rush is worse in fights because it knocks enemies away from you mid-combo but it still has its uses, and if you get an enemy into a corner or a wall you can basically stunlock them, but yeah, it's not worth it as much. Beast got a heavy nerf due to the removal of super armor when you have Heat so it's not as viable, particularly with the introduced knock down, but like you said it's still alright if you use substations, bikes, signs, and motorcycles, just don't try using it like you would in 0.

Brawler is your best one because it functions as a decent middleground until you get DoD, once you upgrade DoD well enough there's no reason to use another style at all. Beast is like the only one after that and only for more damage for items.

Cornering someone with Rush is a lot less effective than it may seem. I've done it several times only to be interrupted by an armored attack. And with it doing so little fucking damage now, you would have finished a standard Brawler combo and done much more damage by that time.

Your missing all of the sign glow in the PS2 version because it doesn't work in PCSX2 without overblooming.

Play Kiwami 2(With the music fix mod) or play it on a real PS2 because PCSX2 works poorly with both PS2 releases.

It's more if you get to their side or their back during it. If you manage to have access to their back when they get pushed into a corner you can stun them infinitely (Lao Ka Long is a good example where it can be done you just need to be patient). If you're doing it from the front you definitely run into your problem though.

Is it just me or the minigames that require precise stick inputs are completely fucked in Kiwami 1? Namely, darts and billiards are 100% unplayable. In darts even the animation of the opponent's hand is glitched out.

Using a RX570 with an i5 4460, doesn't run that awful as long as I just use SMAA instead of anything higher. It's slower but it's not yet another clone of the same engine as the previous two, so that might be it. Not that I love the graphics to be honest. I don't know what's with Kiryu's eyes, I don't dig them this time. SSAO is kinda broken where shadows are pretty grainy and reaching any wall will look all weird.

Also I'm disappointed at the lack of sexy content in this. They don't even let you see what's going on in those videos in Ghandara. There's fuckall there, I wonder if it has to do something with the modernization of these companies. Isn't Kiwami 2 the most recent main series game they released?

Also it wouldn't hurt if they put a move list for characters in Virtua Fighter 2.1 but I guess I could look for those on the nets.

Pirated it since I own on PS4 and don't want to rebuy it and don't really intent to play much of it, but using a GTX 1080, i7-6700k and 16GB RAM the ragdoll shit is fucked on higher framerates. Had like 3 crashes all during combat, only playing on 1920x1080 and this is some questionable quality at times.

The Dragon Engine is the largest scale they've been on top of having buildings be seamless to enter in and out of with loading screens only when you have cutscenes, minigames, when you're ascending the elevator in Millennium Tower, or when going up the stairs in Onomichi for some reason. If you think any game before this has a larger scale then you need to explain yourself because you're wrong. Hell, the new engine allows for alleyways and areas you can sidle through to reach doorways whereas the older games are strictly "What you see is where you can go" without any deviation. Hell, even the rooftops require loading screens even though you almost walk to the top above Sky Finance.

I can agree with you on that front to an extent. I love the ragdoll system and I like how ridiculous fights can be and how you can employ it to a tactical advantage, same deal with items having physics so you can kick them at enemies. Combat just need some tweaking, it's not like Kenzan was immaculate coming off of 2 and neither was 3, they both still had their fair share of issues and Judgment is already showing they're improving. It took years for us to reach the point where 4, 5, and Ishin were coming together so I can understand the new engine taking roughly until that point to reach where we were.

Honestly, if they just take out bouncing blocks that already fixes a majority of the problems, and they've already removed the five type EXP system as we see with Judgment.

I feel the ragdoll system is fine by attempt but needs tweaking because it is much harder to actually experiment and use more complicated combo strings or techniques.

They've got to essentially retranslate all of 3 and then go through 4 and 5 to fix the translation mistakes or untranslated things. Then after that they have Shin to deal with. Plus we don't know if they'll make the dumb choice to localize RGG Online or not. If Ishin happens it's going to be a year or two from now unless they want to surprise us.

PS4 player here, have 187 hours in 0, 122 hours in Kiwami and 89 hours in Kiwami 2. In terms of the ones that also came out on PC.

They been taking a lot of efforts to bring in more fans in the West and outside Japan in general with the popularity 0 and Kiwami brought I see no reason why not to complete the goal of bringing all games to a single console and eventually on PC.

You can do a majority of the minigames if you feel like it if you want to fill out his completion list but you can't finish it 100% because it's just Kiryu's and Majima only has set random encounters, not random encountters.

Just finished yakuza 5 and Aizawa was such a random final boss but the choreography was sick. The ending was lame as fuck. Haruka speech was cute and emotional but what about her dream and Park dream? Why didn't we get a proper closure for Kurosawa? Saejima and friends just chilling on the rooftop forever?

I like this game more than 3 and 4 because no DUDE KAZAMA TWIN BROTHER THAT WORK FOR THE FBI or DUDE RUBBERS BULLETS LMAO but the ending sucked.

I feel like Kazama twin was just to give them a reason to have a 3D HD model of Kazama in the game. Also, I love the Aizawa fight's song and choreography it was fucking beautiful and I don't think any Yakuza boss fight has reached those levels yet.

Combat feels more simplified from before. A lot of Kiryu' s moves don't seem to have crossed over into Kiwami 2. He feels really stripped down from before

But Park basically scrubbed the records clean. They had nothing on Haruka until after she blurted everything out AND she had the backing of two yakuza clans to keep her past a secret.

Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2 combat was basically them saying fuck to any of Kiryu's previous moves in order to show off their fancy physics based engine. The moves and techniques as a whole and brought together are just shit and don't mesh well like previous titles.

With 6 you could tell they were most likely rushed. They just section off the Champion District and Park Boulevard, they ignore a multitude of Kiryu's friends despite it being his final game, street weapons and like three others are the only weapons implemented, and Kiryu is missing many many Heat Actions. It even had pretty poor performance before patches. It felt like they were trying to get the various engine functions all working seamlessly before then working on everything else so with that one I can at least understand things.
With K2 they improved upon it a lot, now you have all the weapons back, the streets are back (Though that's more our of necessity), they added new and long minigames (Definitely longer than Adam and the Marietta), there's way more Heat Actions in general and there's way more moves in general (Though a lot of them are from 2 to be fair), they toned down on a lot of stuff that 6 did wrong, etc.

Keep in mind when jumping from 2 to Kenzan you lose a LOT of Heat Actions, 1kat and 2kat only have a handful, 2h has even less, and Hand-to-Hand has weapons that share Heat Actions with buckets, there's like eight boss-specific Heat Actions, several are only usable in one single area in the entire game, and both 2h and HtH are underdeveloped in terms of moves and Heat Actions. The jump from 4 to 5 wasn't much because it was a minor engine change, but in Kenzan and 6's cases they were making a brand new engine entirely so I can at least excuse the problems to an extent in those two cases. They're essentially redoing everything from scratch and they can only really carry over the skeleton of the maps and the animations of enemies at best, everything else has to be redone.

I find reusing old enemy/boss animations somewhat humorous in K2 because you can tell they weren’t meant to work with the ragdoll physics at all.

Doesn't really make much sense though since in Judgment it looks the exact same as in K2 despite being "Closed for renovations". Park Boulevard I get though, the shops look different, it's a bit wider, there's now these raised platforms you can walk up on, and there's just more stuff there in general.

Positives/negatives:

+The exp system is pretty decent, I like how food is rewarding in a different way
+I liked the first boss fight against Goda
+Getting into stores without loading screens
+Getting into fights without a slow intro
+Actually throwing dudes into stores and having the owners get mad at me, which is pretty immersive
+It didn't forget one of the most important parts, which is karaoke
+There's a proper redesign of both cities, not just a copy paste
+Music is pretty decent, I don't know why people complain about this
+Virtua Fighter 2 is not botched
+Map markers

-Not a big fan of the graphics... style? I got used to Kiwami and Zero

A few months ago I think I remember reading that this game had a lot of content but honestly it doesn't look that much bigger than Kiwami. Maybe story wise is longer, and sure, there's two cities but it doesn't seem to have that much variety.

What I find weird is the cabaret thing. They used the exact same animations there and it looks kinda weird.

Asia, Love in Heart, and fade to black hostess sex are usually as far as that goes for several of the games until they took out Love in Heart and you couldn't really visit Asia anymore outside of substories.
K2 added gravure club (Which is basically a reworked live chat from 6) so I'm not sure what you're mad about since most of what you're listing was a 0 and K1 thing. Kenzan for example just has a scene where Musashi pervs on an assassin girl in a bath along with the nude goddess lady in the waterfall (Which functions exactly like Love in Heart), 3 has I want to say Asia but I can't remember if you could watch the stripping, 4 has nothing that comes to mind, Dead Souls has nothing, 5 has nothing, Black Panther 1 and 2 have Love in Heart, Asia's part-time job, Tatsuya's medic girlfriend coming out of a shower, and in BP2 you have gravure trading cards and a very very tame movie, Ishin has the Gion geisha who plays strip minigames with Ryoma, and 6 has Live Chat where Anri and another girl stretch and show off their boobs.
